Dont Bother Booking!!!!

DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM!

So I was speaking to someone called ARON. It was a business flight from LONDON TO LAGOS. After 10 minutes they called me requesting for an extra £180 pounds that there are 5 other people in the Que, but when I checked online the business class still had over 10 seats available! Then asked me if I'm on WhatsApp, sending me other companies prices and that it's more expensive and etc.

Whilst he was on the phone I started googling reviews and saw that this is what they do. I then realised that I might be shammed and whilst being on the phone to Aron I asked him if he's aware that what he is doing to me the reviews of their tactics are online, his reply was "there are always some good reviews and bad." I asked him to refund my money which he said okay to and I asked him how many days he said 3-5 working days. I'm lucky that I recorded the whole conversation as soon as I realised this thing was getting doggy and I as well started an email thread with them for evidence as I've already made the bank aware and they said we should wait the 3-5 working days if they will refund. Let's wait and see, because the company had already APPROVED of the payment!

Where do I even start with what ChecknFly has put me through but I’ll keep I as short as possible so other people can stay FAR AWAY FROM THEM. I’ll break it down in points for you.

Purchase of tickets, I bought two tickets off ChecknFly for flights to Australia for me and my partner at £1644.52. After buying our tickets we received a email which highlighted and I quote:

“email is only a ‘order acknowledgement’. We have sent your booking to the airlines for obtaining further confirmations. Your travel documents such as e-tickets will be e-mailed to you separately within 24 hours of making the booking online once the necessary confirmations are obtained from the airlines”

For anyone confused this is basically saying we have taken your money but we actually haven’t bought your tickets.

After finding out this information I got in contact with the airlines as I started to believe I had been outright shammed as I started to see all the bad reviews highlighting how they operate. While in contact with the airlines they said our names were on the flight but they hadn’t received the money.

I then found out that the tickets I purchased where now not available and I would have to pay MORE MONEY on top of what they had already taken off of me, which yes it is, you’ve taken my money and haven’t given me what I was buying.

During all this I had been in contact with ChecknFly through there live chat and also was also in conversation with one of them that was texting me desperately trying to get as much money off me as possible. So ChecknFly don’t try and lie about the things I am highlighting I’ll just quote what was said from their team down below:

“tickets you have purchased with on the promotional price which is non refundable and non changeable” They never booked the tickets and claimed a refund wouldn’t be possible which doesn’t make sense because the airlines never had the money so a refund could be easily given.

“for the changes as you know we need rebook the flight with the airlines fare difference of £198.00 with the new seat”

They kept acting like the only way the issue would be solved is that I need to give them more money which is just such a blatant sham. You already tricked me once why would I fall for it a second time?

During the live chat on there website they also said at one point I’d have to pay a cancellation fee which was around £60-£160 I can’t really remember as I was panicking during this full ordeal. Plus why would I pay for a cancellation fee for something you never book you bunch of muppets.

They also claim to operate in London but you’ll soon realise they all use fake western names and everyone you are in contact with through phone calls has a thick accent which this day in age is always the first sign of something being a sham these days.

After all this had happened they then stopped keeping contact with me after about two hours of trying to resolve this issue which I assume was because they had all went to bed even tho they claim they have a 24/7 helpline (lie to make them seem as a bigger company than what they are).

While they all went to bed I obviously couldn’t get to sleep all night freaking out that we had lost the money we spend months saving for to move to Australia to start a new life in cairns, we are a young couple in are early 20s so that money was a lot for us and didn’t have a big budget to take a hit like this.

In the morning I phoned them and was in contact with a woman that offered me a full refund or a change of flights. Which is odd because isn’t there a cancellation fee and aren’t the tickets non fundable or changeable? After about 5 phone calls I finally managed to convince her to give me a full refund and she’d send me a email to confirm that a refund will be happening. I obviously had to phone up again and stay on the line and make her send me the cancellation email and then wait for her to confirm my confirmation email I sent to confirm the refund.

This is the information they had given me about when I should except my refund:

“The transaction amount of £1,644.52 will be voided and refunded to the original payment method. Please anticipate the funds to be credited to your card or account within the next 5-7 business days.”

Yeah well that never happened I actually still don’t have my refund and I’ve sent emails explaining this and that they should be able to send me the refund STRAIGHTAWAY because the airline never had the money in the first place, this was their response:

“We're sorry for the inconvenience; I have checked with our concerned team about your payment, and I would like to let you know that your refund has already been processed to the same card from which you initially paid.”

In summary don’t listen to a word they say they are shamming you and will try keep your money if you don’t fight back. I’ve got all the information I need and have a vail dispute being underway with my bank to get my money back.

I’ve gather all the other experiences that the unfortunate people have had dealing with ChecknFly and will soon be providing all the evidence that I’ve gathered to the Trading Standards and the Police.

He Was Excellent Assisting Us To Find Best Flight

He was excellent assisting us to find best flight deal for chicago from London as our booked flight was sold out ,he found another flight suitable for us and made sure to matched same price, he has a great customer service skills,we will definitely will be using Check N Fly for our future trips

Onward journey was fine but while returning back on may 22nd, I can never imagine the stress i underwent on that day.

Flight was at 3.45 PM (may 22). I wasnt allowed to checin since i didnt have a transit visa to transit via canada.

I was told anybody holding an indian passport need to have a transit visa for canada.

I requested AIR CANADA and UNITED AIRLINES reps at airport desk to change the itinery to transit via US but they were of no help

and all rude faces. I was asked to contact the agency who blocked the tickets since the agency made the mistake of booking the transit that wasnt

suitable for me. So all these happened because of the carelessness of the agency - checknfly.

I told checknfly(agency) that they didnt inform me that transit visa is required for this itenary.the agency stated back

that its the responsibility of the individual to check the visa information. Its basic that every passenger checks for the source & destination

country visas but the information about transit visas should be given by the agencies. In my experience, anytime I booked tickets, the agencies

would inform regarding any visa requirements or atleast provide an alert. The agency checknfly didnt accept it was a miss from their side

and they helped in changing the itenary for a fees of 291 pounds additional.

I have had all good experiences with kayak always and anytime I booked flgihts in kayak,I used to see alerts stating that a

transit visa might be required for this itinery,.something like 'probably this transit needs a visa'. never used to choose those kind of

transits since it might have visa issues.this time when I booked in kayak, it never showed this alert. so, I went ahead and booked the itenary.

I am sure this is the mistake of the agency and not kayak.this is spoiling the reputation of kayak.

for the mistake of the agency(checknfly) and the website (kayak) for choosing these kind of agencies, I had to pay the price and

my health went bad. the 3 hrs in the airport was highly stressful and helpless

Wow Customer Service

Returning customer, second time booking and again I am extremely happy with his service. If it's your first time booking flight with an agent, don't worry! My first time booking flights was couple of months ago and he was extremely helpful, friendly and found me the best deal. I use to be skeptical about booking tickets with agents, but honestly now I am only booking tickets. So convenient! Saves you a lot of time (searching for the best ticket) and money! Also he deserves a promotion and pay rise for the service he is providing to his customers.

Amazing Service Provided By A Representative

Very awesome service with Good Surprises!

I got a call the following day after I purchased my ticket with Check N Fly & instead of some not so good news... I ended up getting Great Concierge Service with the Rep that answered my call.

He helped me adjust one of my flights so my layover was timed better with my flight, got all my questions answered, & even topped it off with a free checked bag upgrade!! ...so cool cuz I got to grab some extra things I wasn't planning for but appreciated!!

All in all, it was my first time buying through them and I will definitely use them again :)

Initially They Seemed Fine. However It Turned Out

Initially they seemed fine. However it turned out that the advisor lied about the availability of bassinets (infant travel cots) on the flights, then tried to charge me £600 for the free baggage allowance. When challenged she reduced this to £200 even though the airline give it free.

Then they changed my son's date of birth on his ticket(if I hadn't spotted this he'd have been unable to fly) whether this was incompetence or revenge for not overpaying for a free baggage allowance is unclear.

When I first posted a review they then offered a partial refund if I deleted the review

AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID AT ALL COSTSSSS!!  Our flight last year April was cancelled due to Covid 19. We were led to believe that we had a travel voucher to use for a booking up until July 2021. Upon calling Ethiopian Airlines today I come to find out that our flight was refunded and they thought they had refunded the person who the booking was made under.. But oh know, who knows where the money went, all I hear from Checknfly is their mystery supplier !! Fair enough I couldn't care less as long as we get to use the voucher for the same flight. So i request the same flight with the same airline and get a price which drops below our credit amount ( excellent I thought) But as soon as I mention using the credit the price jumps £200 as we are not entitled to the special price which is £200 less lol. No matter who you speak to there they will claim common British names which you will soon realise is definitely not their name. They speak of a supplier although the credit is with Checknfly... Therefore it really should be simple to use it on an alternative flight, but obviously not without them wanting more money. I am raising this with Trading standards as its absolutely pathetic that a company like this can function under current laws. Please read other people's experiences on other reviews.

I booked a return flight from Heathrow to San Francisco, US, and received a phone call less than 5 minutes later from these guys saying:

1 ‘’your flight has not been confirmed and the money has not gone through’’

2. ‘’Your flight reservation does not include baggage And you cannot change or your flight or get a refund, so you must pay another £900 for a brand new flight that includes baggage!’’

After arguing with these guys non stop for over an hour, pleading to just ‘’add a bag to my flight reservation’’ they would just argue back and refuse to do this before my money had cleared from my bank as it was pending, and even after they received my money they said they wouldn’t be able to add a bag anyway, I would still need to pay for a brand new flight that includes baggage.

They never answered the phone with a company intro/welcome, and they would just put me on hold whenever I started to get a little impatient with them.

They would argue back and raise their voices at me, basically telling me the only options I had was to pay 900 now.

I tried to get their manager to come to the phone and they said ‘’he’s here tomorrow morning’’ Bearing in mind this phone call is around 3pm.

After being hung up on multiple times I gave them the benefit of the doubt and kept phoning to try and sort this out. I literally just wanted to add a bag this whole time and that was it. None of them could help me until my payment had finished processing.

I phoned back one last time before reporting to my bank Id potentially lost £660, and they put me on hold straight away, probably after logging my number.

One guy answered eventually and whispered down the phone ‘’your money went through. We have your details. Ok sir?’’ And I noticed it’s the same couple of voices. Sounds like it’s a group of guys somewhere claiming to be a legitimate flight agent somewhere in London.

Stay well away from these guys!!

Great Site And Great Prices!

Really pleased with the price of the tickets. About 30% cheaper than anywhere else. Customer service was exceelent too!
