My daughter, granddaughter and I had never been to England. We wanted to tour London, of course, but also the countryside. We were so fortunate to find Discover England Tours. Our week in Dorset staying at Church House with Paul and Susy as hosts will be an experience I will never forget. From the very first moment we arrived we felt welcome and at home. The accomodations were great, food superb and touring with Paul an educational and relaxing experience. I can't recommend Discover England Tours enough and hope that I will be able to return some day.

Though the weather was unsettled the gardens were wonderful. Paul is a knowledgable and patient tour guide. Our day was always customized to our wishes, the accommodations and food great, the village life charming. What a relaxing and pleasing way to tour the gardens of western England.

Two couples from Australia,we stayed at Church House near the end of our 6 week holiday. It was just what we needed,wonderful guieded tours with Paul, who is a true gentleman and very knowelgeable about this wonderful part of the world.Then to come home to a cooked dinner andjust sit and eat was just what the doctor ordered.

My 5 Aunties and I stayed at Churchhouse in Shillingstone in the county of Dorset, for the first leg of our 2 week England visit. We were met at the door by Paul and Suzie along with a fresh pot of tea and scones! A wonderful treat after a long flight. What a beautiful home made even more perfect by the warmth and kindness of Paul, Suzie and their lovely daughter Lucy(musn't forget Suzies parents and the dogs Molly and Meg who also made our visit perfect). We felt at home right away and enjoyed the wit and wisdom of Pauls tours. You could not ask for a more picturesque area. Beautiful views of farms, typical country lanes and fantastic gardens. We were in awe, then to top off the absolutely perfect day Suzie prepares and they serve you these unbelievable dinners! You cannot ask for anything better. I hope one day to go back, and I would highly reccommend Churchhouse in Shillingstone to everyone. It is an experience you will not soon forget. Truly a delightful experience. Susy and Paul, our hosts and tour leaders, did everything they could to make our trip extra special. Paul is also a knowledgeable horticulturist which added to our garden visits. Susy is an excellent cook and we enjoyed very merry dinners with lots of wine! Our thanks to them for a very special trip.

We were a group of 6 women from the US, and the focus of our trip was gardens - but Church House was so much more. Suzy, Paul and Lucy cannot be outdone as hosts and could not have been more gracious and accommodating. From the meals to our daily excursions and our after-dinner hikes around the village of Shillingstone - it was absolutely perfect. Not only would we love to stay there again, we're telling everyone here what a wonderful experience staying with them was. For four days, we really felt we were part of an English village -

We stayed 4 nights and enjoyed it very much. Food was excellent, gardens were beautiful and rooms were spacious. The tours were very informative and interesting. Our tour guide, Sam, was delightful and knowledgable. neighborhood was very quiet and peaceful.

It was more like visiting friends who were very eager to please than a business transaction. And make that a single transaction to: arrange a stay at a very spacious and comfortable B&B, hire safe drivers to take you to various places of interest, get expert advice about which world-class gardens to visit, and have full English breakfasts and satisfying home-cooked meals every evening. A great value. Wish we could have stayed longer than the nine days in late May 2010 we were there.

Our stay with Discover England Tours was a delight. Dorset is beautiful in the spring and in May 2010 we toured several gardens and historic houses at our own pace, with an expert guide. Each evening we relaxed with a delicious home-cooked dinner at Church House and retired to our spacious, quiet room. Susy and Paul are gracious and knowledgeable--and good cooks, too. We highly recommend them for a personalized visit to some of the most beautiful gardens in the world.

We stayed at Church House in August 2009. All the wonderful reviews you read are absolutely accurate. Paul and Susy are gracious, knowledgeable, and do everything they can to make sure your stay is as enjoyable as possible. Their daughter Lucy was delightful and really sweet.

The food was excellent, the accommodations very comfortable, and the tours fun, interesting, and convenient. The south of England is a lovely place to stay, and the garden and their two dogs were wonderful bonuses!
