They displayed a flight that was through travel genio and our flight 48 hours later has not been booked!! When you book a flight you want a TICKET. They should not do business with such agencies. Its taken what was supposed to be exciting and turned it into a nightmare.

Do not book though skyscanner website. They cannot be reached is you have an issue. If a problem occurs which most likely does you will not get your money back or have a hard time trying. Its not worth the little money saved

SkyScanner is not a travel agent, they are only a referral service.

The skyscanner site gives five star reviews for all the companies they refer customers to, but if you google the company names, you will see a completely different story with many companies having very bad reputations.

I've been overcharged $80 after being referred to trip.ae ($30 fee for using credit card and $50 for insurance that I didn't agree to). After googling trip.ae I can see many people claiming to be taken in by this company.

i booked my flights with sky scanner and specifically chose virgin atlantic as my operator and even paid the extra £500 per person to do so. Once i had received all the booking confirmaton, this still stated virgin. when trying to book seats online we found out that we were flying with Jet Airways, however no where when the booking were made were we told this was the case. I called both airline operators and they both advise that this was an error on behalf of sky scanner. when phoning Sky scanner they hung up on me 3 times when they found out i was complaining! Worse that they cannot speak to me on the phone and address this issue. Would never book with them again and i advise no one else to as well

They show a fare and have you input all your info including CC. Then say, sorry this fare is no longer available. Search again and same fare shows up. 

sky scanner should be clear when customers book their flights, e.g. Tigerair should be rated as very poor and not be allowed to advertise on here, they sell oneway tickets are non usable as when you get to the airport they will not let you on the flight unless you have a return ticket.

This is a crime by Skyscanner who do not inform you at the time of buying this policy.

If you're looking to get a cheaper flight, but with a reputable company, Skyscanner is not for you. As a company they have all the branding and appear to be reputable, but the reality is they are nothing more than a referral forwarding service. They have no interest in the companies they promote to you, only that they get their commission.

If you want to be sure that you are booking with a company that will not rip you off, go direct to the airline. Skyscanner's brand and corporate image will not protect you when the travel agents they sell your details to rip you off.

We paid over £4k for Delta flights to Mexico using TravelUp. When Delta changed the schedule (which they do from time to time) TravelUp repeatedly refused to change the flights, even after Delta instructed them to do so in writing. To make it worse, TravelUp (who until recently operated out of a 2-bed terraced house in Reading) didn't book the flights using their own IATA reference, they booked the flights using a company called Crystal Travel, who seem to be an equally shady company operated by an equally shady string of people with a history of dissolved companies behind them.

The only way we got this resolved was to speak directly to senior executives at Delta. They, being a professional, reliable company, took charge of the situation and rebooked our flights under their own IATA ref.

The lesson here, is go to the airline directly. Would you rather pay £4.5k and know your flight will be fine, or £4k and be at the mercy of a shady fly-by-knight operator running out of their back bedroom?

Having used Skyscanner with confidence for some years, I was very surprised to catch it out with my latest planned journey. Planning this new trip left me disappointed with what Skyscanner came up with so I did some independent planning and found a route which both beat Skyscanner's minimum journey time result and beat their lowest cost result. Mine was both quicker and cheaper than any option Skyscanner found.

So now it's clear: Skyscanner won't give you the complete potential flight options - you can find other scheduled flight choices that Skyscanner misses.

I have had nothing but trouble in my booking. It looks like a great deal initially and the search to find the best price is easy to use, however, I had nothing but trouble during the payment and ticket issuing stage. I attempted to pay with my credit card and was told to contact the office. I did immediately however was told to wait for an email. It took hours for someone to get back to me. After a few emails back and forth I finally was given a link to pay by credit card. I was told everything was fine and I would be emailed my ticket. In the middle of the night I received another email telling me I had to pay another $35. As this email was sent 8 hours ago I do not trust that the price hasn't got up again. When I call the office I am told I have to wait for an email from the booking team which may take hours to get. This is a slow way to communicate when time is critical to ensure the price does increase further. I have no faith in this service or that I will even receive a ticket.

We always use Skyscanner as we find it excellent in enabling us to compare travel to different destinations on particular dates.
