Great Communication Throughout Covid Pandemic
We've yet to actually get to ski, thanks to Covid 19, but all the staff at SNO have been super helpful and really polite, willing to go the extra mile to sort out any issues.
Booked Feb 2020 (before the world knew the significance of Covid), contacted them in September 2020 saying we felt uneasy about our booking. They contacted me in early November to offer us to push the holiday on to Feb 2021 and didn't ask for any more money, in fact, the holiday decreased by nearly £100 per person!
After many questions and information gathering, Inghams have offered to push the holiday on again.
All through this tricky period, SNO nave been extremely professional, I would whole heartedly recommend them to other people. A knowledgeable and passionate group of people.
Keep Away From This Company
We spent a couple of weeks arranging a holiday with SNO to Andorra. Once we had everything sorted out we paid the deposit for 6 of us. Five days later SNO told us they want more money and they won’t honour the holiday.
Despite emailing them and asking them to get a manager to call us- nothing.
It seems that this company just book holidays with proper holiday travel agents then add a margin and sell to the public- so it’s much cheaper to go elsewhere.
SNO just blamed the travel agent they booked the holiday with- dreadful service keep away from this company.
Great Snow, Despite The Weather, But A Very Poor Chalet
We booked Chalet Anthony in Les Menuires via SNO FOR early January 2017. After a ridiculously early flight, there was a long transfer from Geneva to Les Menuires. No mention was made of who was meeting us at Geneva and it certainly wasn't SNO. Luckily I had been googling Chalet Anthony at the airport and the name Ski Weekends came up. I saw that name and approached them to find that they were responsible for the transfer. There was no need for such a stupidly early flight. We had no intention of skiing that day and there were other flights later in day.
The Chalet was, quite frankly, disappointing. The rooms were small, very poorly lit and the 2 downstairs rooms had no hanging space apart from hooks on the wall. The two upstairs rooms had a headroom of under 6 feet. We used to have our own apartment in France. I have to say if I owned this Chalet I would be ashamed to let it out. It is tired and long overdue a total redecoration.
The food was ok and the Chalet girl very helpful, doing her best in a tiny kitchen. She passed on our request for new light bulbs which duly arrived and almost enabled us to read in the lounge!
Last adverse comment: the location was fine for skiing but very limiting otherwise. La Croisette, down the road would be so much better.
The saving grace was the height that Val Thorens starts at. Despite the very sparse snow, the runs were superb and we probably enjoyed the skiing more than many other holidays.
I shall go back back not there.
Happy Customer
Thank you for your help and advice booking a last minute ski holiday. It made it really easy for me. You found me flights at convenient time flying out of Scotland, a short transfer to resort and accomodation that would be suitable for me and my 7 year old son. Couldn't ask for better service ;-)
Val D'isère Group Ski Break
Thank you very much Sno for setting us up with a great break in Val D'Isère The Hotel Moris was exactly what we needed, an informal hotel with lots of like minded ski and boarding enthusiasts great food and great company, Val offered a perfect range of difficulty for our group, and the town has a great range of bars and restaurants to chose from. Thank you SNO for suggesting something different it was spot on!
Friendly, Helpful Service
I have just booked a ski holiday with Sno and found them to be excellent to deal with. I was given a friendly reception when I first phoned and the rep was very patient and helpful. I wasn't totally sure what I wanted in terms of accommodation or resort and the rep was happy to check out various aspects for me while I was on the phone. Those that she couldn't check there and then - it was 10pm - she checked the next day. I then had another conversation with her, leading up to my booking the holiday. She was an absolute pleasure to talk to - polite, friendly and nothing too much trouble. She offered advice where appropriate and reminded me of some things I needed to consider (such as making sure an apartment had single beds for the children rather than two doubles). She even checked ski bus availability because I was concerned about distance from the hotel to the ski school meeting point. She honoured a lower price when her system threw up a higher price than the one I had seen online, and booking confirmation came through very quickly. I would definitely book through Sno again and would recommend them to others.
Hotel Comosci, Courmayeur
Hotel was good, clean rooms, friendly staff and plenty of tasty food.
A free hotel ski bus dropped us off and collected us at the cable car, car park, and also obligingly dropped us of in town and picked us up again. We were told to ring when we wanted picked up, but instead we timed our returns with the last ski bus as we had problems with our phones.
Crystal reps were friendly and we're where they were expected to be at the right times, we were also given contact numbers if we needed them for anything.
Due to the hotels edge of village location we did not tend to venture out for the rep provided entertainment, but there was a good mix of people stopping in the hotel and we swapped ski stories.
Beware Sno's Star Ratings
Beware SNO's star ratings! We just got back from a week in what is advertised as a 4 star chalet (Chalet Peche in Val Thorens) which was in no way 4 star. Chalet is run-down and lacking basic features like furniture in the rooms, heating that works, showers, anywhere adequate to store your skis & boots. SNO are just acting as re-sellers for Skiworld for this chalet (this wasn't mentioned at all when booking the holiday, I only found out once the invoice arrived).
The chalet is advertised as family friendly, but access to skiing for our 6-year old was awkward (15 mins on a bus or a long walk to a slope that's suitable for her to ski); getting her to ski lessons for 9am was tricky with breakfast starting at 8am.
Finally, but not particularly SNO's fault, just a consequence of ending up with Skiworld, the flight & transfers were terrible. 3 hours delayed leaving Gatwick meant we arrived at nearly midnight with very tired & hungry children having left the house at 11am. Return trip wasn't any better; for some reason Skiworld needed us to leave the resort at 9.30am for a 5.30pm flight from Grenoble! Grenoble was chaos as hundreds of skiers were dumped in their inadequate departure facility many hours before they needed to be there and flights were delayed, creating a big backlog of people sitting on suitcases waiting to be checked in. Skiworld were noticable by their absence at this point and information from them was non-existent
Having said that, the Skiworld resort staff were excellent, which made the holiday OK.
Ski Holidays
Despite being the most advanced and techy website in the ski holiday arena, sno ski holidays seem to have figured out how to keep the potentially complex process of choosing a ski holiday or searching for a ski deal relatively simple. All sno ski deals are ATOL protected and each package ski holiday with SNO is also backed by the Travel Trust Association, so you can be sure your package ski holiday booking is totally guaranteed.
Their old website was a bit dull and text heavy, much like Iglu, but their new site fixes that by making pictures of the ski holidays the main focus of the site. Unusually for a ski holidays website, their mantra of
This is often a problem when booking with an agent. Personally I always book my skiing holidays with a company called skiline who list the chalet Peche as a mid range 3 star chalet. Ive always found there start rating is more honest than most. I wasnt very impressed by the product knowledge of the person I spoke to Sno, I'll stick to booking with Skiline I think
