La Baie Campsite Is A Lovely Site. It Is Clean And
La Baie Campsite is a lovely site. It is clean and well laid out and the owners are very helpful. The site arrange guided walks which we enjoyed. The facilities include a playpark, volleyball court, table tennis court and basketball court. The swimming pool is smallish and has one slide but this can also be an advantage as it tends to mean there arent so many large families with lots of teenagers on the site. We stayed in a mobile home but if you are taking your own tent or caravan then the pitches looked lovely and the washing up facilities etc were very clean. The site is classed as a small site and we prefer that. The onsite kids club was run by very nice French students. There were also Keycamp and Eurocamp kids clubs. There is a bakery, shop, bar/restaurant and takeaway across the road, independent from the campsite. We enjoyed the bakery and shop and the takeaway. We were slightly disappointed in the restaurant which was very busy but it could have been because the World Cup was on - maybe not the best time to try out a bar/restaurant ! The beach was nice although there seemed quite a large amount of green seaweed which was removed each morning. We found that people tended to go to another beach which was out the back of the campsite. However the water at both beaches didnt appeal to me for swimming. The local area is fab with lots to see and do, including all the standing stones at Carnac, markets at Carnac and Trinite, fish market at Trinite worth a look. There is a "Petit Train" that leaves from the site, and if you have teenagers then the site had a few excursions which they might enjoy - one I remember was horse riding. I meant to add in my review above of La Baie that some of the plots for Keycamp and maybe Eurocamp too are actually very small. Our plot was fine but a few of the ones which are maybe used for short stay had pretty much the size of your mobile home as your extra space. So little room for your car. it is possible to park outside in the car park but I would maybe put this in as a request when booking.
