Worst Experience
I booked this holiday, for my parents and their grand daughter, my dad is terminally ill and I thought it would be great bonding time and peaceful for him.
I even upgraded to a Gold standard caravan thinking this would give them a better experience.
To my horror when we arrived our caravan was across from the late night bar and 5 a side pitch.
When I complained and explained the situation that this was probably going to be my dads last holiday, the manager at reception had absolutely no empathy, didn't really care and just said there was nothing available.
Sadly during our time there we had to listen to footballs being hammered into fences and noise from the bar well into the night.
Our view was of the road and 5 a side pitch and not the tranquil serenity we had been led in the pictures.
On top of this as others have mentioned the main building constantly smelled of sewage, the food was generally very poor and expensive.
The amenities look tired and could do with updating.
We paid a lot of money to make this trip special but instead left feeling very disappointed and upset.
I tried to complain several times but then gave up, absolutely no customer care or service
Dogs Allowed, But Not Dog Friendly.
The site was ok,near the beach, which allowed dogs, activities ok , the staff doing the activities we couldn't fault, they were very good, Places to eat were only Burger King, and Mash & Barrel Cafe/Restaurant where the food was mediocre, but we are aware that they are cooking all day for lots of people. The biggest problem for us was that we could walk our dog around the areas where the Tourers and Static Caravans were, and the only other place was a small grass area outside the cafe area, which wasn't really ideal when it was raining, and as the weather was unsettled, this was not an option, as it was not under cover, to bring our dog with us if we wanted to have a meal, or a drink. We took our Grand Daughter with us, and she had activities booked, which some were outside, but as dogs were not allowed near the activities, we had to leave our dog yet again in the Motorhome. We have eaten in many Pubs/Restaurants/Hotels around the country, and Southern Ireland, and have always taken our well behaved Cocker Spaniel with us. My Husband spoke to an owner of a static caravan, and she said that it was only last year that the site allowed the small grass area provided. As we booked this holiday mainly for our 9Yr old Grand Daughter, and the fact that it said dogs were welcome. We thought this type of holiday would be ideal, how wrong we were. We will never book another Haven Holiday, and we will make sure that we choose a more suitable site next time. Our mistake....... Think Twice if you have a dog, this site is definitely -----Not Dog Friendly!!!!!!!!!

Upon Arrival We Were Given The Opportunity To Upgr
upon arrival we were given the opportunity to upgrade our caravan for an extra £20 so we did. When we entered the caravan it was very basic which is what i expected. However the telly didn't work, the heaters didn't work and during the night damp was coming through the celing which ruined all our clothes which were in an open suitcase which were on the spare bed. I was very disappointed when explaining my circumstances to a guy on reception his attitude was disgusting he wasn't bothered at all. He told me he would ring me with another caravan at 11.30am as I reported this at 9am i thought fair enough give him time sort something out. 12.00 came still no phone call so i went back to approach him but this time he was sitting playing on his phone. I asked if he sorted anything and he said no, after complaining for another 10 minutes he handed over some keys and told me to go and have a look at it and let him know what i thought. The idiot gave me spare keys to a caravan that someone was still staying in. I then went back to reception and told him that a family were still in there. He then gave me a set of other keys to a caravan and told me to go look in there. It was disgusting it smelt of fish and was dirty with crumbs and grass everywhere and no heaters. ( bearing in mind i paid for an upgrade he was sending me back to a standard caravan) After going back a third time he threw a set of keys at me saying this caravan should be ok for you. Luckly it was, I wasn't the only person complaning this weekend and noticed the bad attitude of the staff. They really let the park down.

I Was Very Dissapointed That After Booking Our Bre
I was very dissapointed that after booking our break at Haven online and pre-booking 12 activity passes for my 2 autistic sons we were unable to participate in the activities we thought would be available. I would strongly recommend NOT to pre-book activity passes as when we arrived on the monday evening it was to late to see anyone about booking times and therefore had to leave it until 9am the following morning only to be told that there were NO places available for my sons to do any of the aqua sports< which was why we chose Haven in the first place. After standing my ground and not backing down the guy on the booking desk had someone stay late i.e 8.30pm one evening and 9pm the next so my sons could try at least one activity they had'nt done before. Needless to say we will not be returning to any Haven site in the future, as we all found it very dissapointing. If you have any idea or knowledge of autism then you will know how streesful it can be for a child with autism to be told they cant do something when they know they were supposed to be doing it, its not FUN.

Stayed For A Week At Greenacres. The Site Is Well
Stayed for a week at Greenacres. The site is well spaced out and the location is good. Really close to the beach and lots of things to do locally. The entertainers kept the kids happy for the week and worked hard. It could have been a little cleaner but it did not cause a big problem. Fantastic pub just down the beach and good chippy down the road. It;s not a five star holiday but I neved expected it to be.
The kids want to go back which is always a good sign.

The Worst Thing I Could Have Done Is Read Reviews
The worst thing I could have done is read reviews on Greenacres as I set off with a very negative outlook on my holiday to come. How wrong I was, the caravan(prestige) was a home from home and extremely clean with excellent fittings. I did take some advice and checked in on my own as it could have been expensive dragging the children through the amusements to check in at the Mash & Barrell. The entertainment was as it should be - entertaining and luckily the entertainers didn't take themselves too seriously but they were extremely hardworking and pleasant. If you want everything for nothing then pay Butlins prices if you want an attractive park with good clean facilities and fantastic scenery then go to Haven Greenacres.

We Have Just Returned From Our Long Weekend Stay A
We have just returned from our long weekend stay at Greenacres and from reading other nnegative reviews was wondering if we stayed at the same place!!!
Our caravan was very clean and tidy...up to date and all mod cons...the best I have stayed in
it was located away from the main complex but within easy walking distance and near the beach
we found the site very clean and welcoming....the staff very helpfull and accommodating
The on site supermarket is a londis one and I expected it to be very overpriced......I was very pleasantly suprised by the prices..very reasonale
We ate in the bar twice and although the food is a little on the high price it was most pleasant.....very WEATHERSPOONS feel to it
The only negative side was the quilts were very thin and pillows very thin.....bring your own!!
the kids disco started late about 8 ish but tired them all out for bed by 9.30!!!
Altogether I would return
Guess It Must Be Pot Luck Staying At A Haven.
Guess it must be pot luck staying at a haven. Some have been cleaned, (like my mum and dads) and on 2 occasions over 2 years our vans have been dirty when entering. Did complain first time round, offered to be moved (looked at this van and worse that one that was uncleaned) - decided to stay in orignial van and have it cleaned.Didn't think it could happen again but September 2008 - another gold caravan - stunk of smoke, dirty carpets, dirty shower. We cleaned it ourselves and could not wait to get out of there.I don't think the facilities are too bad there. I will never stay at a haven again UNLESS it is privately owned and I can view it. I have seen 4 caravans that are supposedly gold - one was excellent, one ok but dirty, and two that is not fit to be called a holiday home. You dont get what you pay for sometimes but that's the luck of the draw.
Having Recently Visited We Were Appalled, The Cara
Having recently visited we were appalled, the caravan was incredibly dirty including most of the facilities within the park. Seats were torn, floors sticky, toilets dirty, etc... We found the food to be of poor standard and was actually ill for 2 days. To sum up, if you want to visit a very rundown place, enjoy poor customer service and want take the risk of getting food poisoning then this is the place for you
