Haven Holidays, Haggerston Castle

As soon as you need their help, the staff don't want to know.

After a 4 day stay, we unfortunately left three coats in the caravan. I rang the site on getting home to be told they wouldn't gi and recover our coats until the caravan was empty again. The cleaners, whi can't have nit seen the coats, didn't recover them. It took a full week, and two sets of guests before they checked for our coats, which of course had now gone. The cleaners should have recovered them, or the staff could have recovered them the same day. They just repeated that it was not their responsibility. They had no interest in helping us, which ruined what had been a nice week.

Unfortunately this park has grown too big and has got too greedy!

We stayed in one of the new caravans and it just was not ready. It had no toilet paper, no towels, a mop head but no pole, no broom, markings on the windows from installation. For the price we paid, I expected better.

The entertainment venues are just far to small now for the number of people. Want to play bingo? turn up an hour before otherwise you wont get a seat! Want a beer at the mash and barrel? Prepare to queue for 20 mins. Want some food in the evening? Order it 3 hours before you want it!

On the Saturday night, we ordered a meal from the Chopstix venue. Order via the app at 20:30. At 23:00 we gave up and went to bed without food. At 23:15 a knock on the door with the food. Disgraceful! I refused the food but collected the receipt for a refund which I would get the following day. I went to the reception in the afternoon the following day to be told I would have to go to Chopstix and get the refund from them because the manager couldn't be bothered to come to reception. I refused to stand in line for 40 mins and we just left that day. By the way, they had my phone number all night and could have rung to tell me about a delay.

Such a shame as this place used to be lovely. I wont be visiting again.

Came here for a short break. In my own tourer. Site OK. In the mash and barrel for a meal which took over a hour and a half to arrive and when my meal came the chips were over cooked,steak on mixed grill was burnt,rump steak tough and cremated.

Just returned from 7 days left early, rats running around, the mash and barrel pub food lying about floor on decking lack of staff and touring pitches drainage was very poor, was like a small puddles in our awning shocking what did I like o yes leaving site never return

Myself and another staff took a client with learning disabilities and some physical issues for weekend break on 5th August 2022

Our caravan was clean nice view of lake

Main complex absolutely disgusting live lounge and mash and barrel pub was terrible

No clean tables food and rubbish all over floor

The toilets was a disgrace bearing in mind we just been through covid

Booked an activity turned up for it to be told in different place went and no staff there at all

So asked for refund no apology staff rude not helpful at all

I will not be recommending this place to anyone

Restaurant was always untidy and you had to wait over a hour for your food . Swimming you could never get booked in we left a day early because we got so Fed up with having to wait for everything . Well what can I say about the entertainment well let’s just leave it at that

Stayed in beautiful private caravan. That’s the good bit! Kids had great time plenty to do!

Bad bits service in mash and barrel terrible this was for whole weekend not just one day so not a one off!!

Overall cleanliness of public toilets disgusting amount of money they make here could at least update toilet seats!!!

Plenty activities but service and staffs customer care terrible!!!!

Do not bother going to this park.. it's not about customer care it's all about profit... Can't get in any of the facilities even with pass as overbooked or its jam packed you can't move.. facilities far too small for size of park ... Only go if you want to sit in a caravan and not use any of the facilities! No information lack of customer service! Food over priced for in shop and so called restaurant! Only thing we enjoyed about the park is when we left and the odd cute ducks that were about!

This has been one of the worst holidays ever.

A caravan park this big and such a struggle to find food! We took 5 children to this resort and they hardly ate all week. They have a chippy which is open once a week. They have the restaurant mash and barrel which is bookings only so if it’s fully booked you cannot eat. A papa johns which was such at the time due to food shortages and staff isolating. It is also so understaffed 2 staff working the Burger King so waiting times were through the roof.

Activities were all so over priced and the mini golf was the worst ever they didn’t even use proper golf balls. And the caravan was so far away from the main entrance we didn’t feel safe walking that far with 5 children. We also booked 2 caravans as we are a family of 12 and they located us in 2 separate caravans so far away from eachother it wasn’t walking distance.

The one upside to this holiday was the nisa shop which wasn’t too pricey considering. The staff in there was also lovely

The caravans also didn’t come with any towels or made beds and when we arrived there was still sweets left on the floor from previous guests

Would not stay here again. For the price go somewhere else!

Hi me and my husband and 2 children stayed on the touring site toilets and shower blocks was very dirty young girls sat in the toilet block smoking singing and giggling when u walked in to use the toilet and showers all day long they where in there when to the club house on the night which is very clean and good entertainment on we enjoyed it came back to our motor home to find people parting to 4 in the morning rang security but they did not come so we had no sleep that night my husband went to see if we could be moved which we did seem quiet but 1am we where woken with banging on our motor home my husband went out to find 2 men fighting next to our motor home banging each other off our motor home the men where coved in blood my children where screaming with fright I had to get my husband in because they where very violence I have never felt so frightened in my life we rang security at 1.30 am was still waiting at 7 am we do a lot of haven holiday and we have loved every site but Haggerston finished it off for us .
