Lovely Caravan Site, Friendly Staff.!!
Enjoyed a short hideaway holiday in Hopton ,arriving 13th May.Found the site beautifully landscaped, caravan ultra clean, plenty of staff busy doing their jobs and so welcoming and friendly. Had the cutest squirrels, ducks etc. Wandering about. We are elderly so didn't use the parks facilities but intend using the golf and restaurants next time. Which there will certainly be a next time.!! Plenty for young families to do and hopton is so close to gorleston, gt. Yarmouth and so many more places. The holiday Village has a great shop and a pharmacy and morrisons next door.!! What more could you want.( there's a bus stop outside too.oh and 2 pubs almost next door.) Well designed and my hubby and I loved it. Xx

Loose Medication In Filthy Caravan
Arrived to a dirty caravan, full of left over food debris and beds that had not been changed from previous guests and filthy in the bedside drawer in the twin bedroom where my children were sleeping. Broken bathroom panel hanging down. Sticker containing previous guests details left in the kitchen, old rubber cleaning glove left in the kitchen. Dirty sticky marks on kitchen work surface.
Complained to customer services, who tried not to comply with their own Holiday
Cleanliness Guarantee policy by trying to send someone to clean it whilst we were out without completing an inspection with us as they specify in their guarantee.
Someone attended, we identified all the areas of dirt we had found, which were cleaned, however the cleaner found a loose unidentified tablet in the bedroom my children were sleeping in!!! We had not previously seen this as it was covered by what looked like a broken plastic bottle cap. Customer services offered a refund of one days worth of our trip, which we accepted as we believed this was a fair resolution at this stage.
However, a full caravan inspection was NOT completed and as a result we found further dirt throughout the remainder of our stay. Food remnants between plates in the cupboards, coffee marks on mugs where they hadn’t been washed, broken biscuits under sofa cushions, a pack of open ibuprofen in the bathroom cabinet, half eaten chocolate bar under the children’s beds from a previous guest, our socks were filthy just from walking around the living room area.
We tried to complain again to customer services but no one was available to speak with at the time so upon departure we submitted a formal complaint, only to be advised that what we had received was considered fair and they would offer us no further compensation despite every day of our holiday finding new areas of filth in the caravan.
I responded to the email to point out some factually incorrect information in their response and they didn’t even bother to reply to me.
Initially all we wanted was a clean caravan, this was never financially motivated for us, however the lack of sincere apology regarding the dirt in the caravan or even real acknowledgment to the fact we found TWO SEPARATE TYPES OF MEDICATION WITHIN REACH OF OUR CHILDREN is appalling.
The fact they have a no-quibble cleanliness guarantee is utterly meaningless as they will do all they can to get out of it which is by definition a quibble!
I will NEVER set foot in Hopton again, purely based on the absolutely disgraceful customer service and the way this whole matter was dealt with. Had they genuinely apologised and inspected the whole caravan and cleaned it upon receipt of our complaint this would have been entirely different and avoidable but they ruined our holiday and couldn’t have cared less
I would recommend choosing a different Haven park and avoid Hopton, I dread to think what could have occurred if a younger child prone to putting things in the mouth stayed in the room my children stayed it…either an unidentified pill or a stale old half eaten chocolate bar!

Hopton
Just got back from Hopton, the park is very clean, staff very friendly, but kids club they are not child register so you can not leave them so if you have more than one child at different age groups a bit difficult. Food was lovely and drinks were reasonable price. The only disappointment was the talent show, you have to audition so we had 23 people apply but only 6 get through, because of there schedule of the night, I think they should do a whole night so everyone can enter to save disappointment. Caravan was very clean, beach was lovely. Hired a buggy and travel cot, travel cot basic but did the job, the buggy was very basic and not ideal, did not recline backwards and there was no rain cover or umbrella when asked.

Fantastic
Just gotten back from a easter break, friday till monday. would thorougly
recommend hopton holiday village, everything you need on site. fish a chips, amusements, indoor pool, outdoor pool ( not open though)
bar with food, whcih was reasonable priced. 9 hole golf course.
Eevening enttainment, was catered for all ages, the party bands
were well above most holiday camps average. the caravan was rented privatly from www.directholidayhomes.com and was brand new. although we had to pay for the passes seperatly, still was cheaper than haven direct.
the camp itself was clean and tidy. the beach on site is convenient, however weather stopped us going on it
took a 5 minuite drive to gorleston, where there is a long and wide beach,
there is also a spar on site, which on the face of it is expensive, but take into account the time it takes to get to nearest tescos about 10 min drive away, the time you pay for petrol, works out about the same.
definatly would return, and as we enjoyed so much may even consioder buying a holiday home there.

Haven Hopton
Third Haven park visited.
Decent place. A bit on the quiet side, but it was the week coming up to the annual closure in October.
Good value for a Sun cheapie - did pay for upgrade though. Nice clean caravan - although the windows could have done with a clean.
Usual Haven amenities although the Care Home right in the middle was a bit confusing!?!

Haven Hopton Holiday Park
Just had a 4 night stay at Hopton, Now this is my very first holiday at a caravan site and wasn't expecting much, we used to holiday to the likes of florida, Bahamas etc so this was a huge change in our holiday direction. We now have two boys both under 3 years old so things have had to change including the cost of our holidays.
Firstly the PLUS points.
We booked a Prestige caraven through a private owner and was pleasently suprised on how clean and spacious the caravan was. Very well layed out and had everything you could possibly need. We were right next to the beach which was great but a little damp to say the least but it was the end of September but we had lovely weather all week it just got very damp every night being next to the sea.
The park itself was OK but a good few things were closed which was a shame. Had a few places to eat like a pub, fish & Chips, Pizza place etc.
The park was clean and seemed to be looked after and the indoor swimming pool was "OK"...
Now for the negatives,
Other than a couple of small play grounds and some evening entertainment for the kids there didn't seem much more for the kids to do, the outdoor swimming pool was closed for the winter, the "Crazy Golf" wasn't very good (not really thought out at all) plus you had to pay £3 a person, what ever you wanted to do you had to pay for it (except swimming) even then you had to wait until 09.30 before you could go in because the Caravan Owners had priority from 07.30 until 09.30 so an early swim was out of the question.
The drinks in the showbar were a little on the expensive side (as expected) and the food was again OK if you like that sort of stuff???!!! The only thing for the older kids to do was spend money in the Arcade of hire out karts of bikes again a cost.
The entertainment was OKish and my god was it loud, toooo loud for such a small room and again my god was it hot in there...???
Overall, as a place to stay in a caravan it was perfect if you intend to go out each day and visit the surrounding area but if you want to be entertained each night this might not be for you. I would give the site 7.5/10
You saved me a lot of hsasle just now.

Went to hopton last year july 2010 for 7 nights, with our 3 children 6,5,3 plus expecting with 4th while on holiday..Overall not a bad place very clean, friendly a good spot if you dont want it in your face all the time, We had very hot sunny weather all week so used in/outdoor pool.. if i could change some things about this place it would be to put a soft play around for the children plus abit more better entertainment but still we all had a good time, and booked to go this year again in july2011, But at the end of the day its how you make the holiday more fun!
