Park Resorts, Martello Beach Holiday Park, Essex

I was absolutely disgusted with the state of the caravan we stayed in ! Took photos as stains over mattresses & lounge cushions ! Filthy under beds ! Babies dummies , sweet wrappers dog treats to name a few ! Dog poo on grass out side areas ! The bin sheds over flowing & rubbish everywhere! The club house toilets were horrendous, dirty nappies left on floors ! No locks on toilet doors . We only stayed 3 days ! Couldn’t take anymore . Never again

Very disappointed with Martello Beach. We stayed last week out of season 5/10/15. There were 6 adults and a 6 year old. Pool very small and not open. Arcade very small. No entertainment whatsoever. No takeaways open. The bar had pool tables but NO cues. They had a dart board but NO darts. On arrival the caravan we were given was dirty and had a foul smell, complained and was moved to a better one. Spent all our time away from the park as literally nothing to do there. Shop very small and expensive. The meals in the bar were expensive for what we had. Will never stay at a park resort again. Haven much better. Its a disgusting place to stay.

Holidayed at Martello Beach on 15to 19 july.Over run with gipsies the site does does nothing to stop them.Show Bar toilets fithly rotten all of the stay reported them but nothing done they got worst not better.Caravan dirty loads wrong with it complaints never acted upon.Adult and children gipsies use the site day and night the kids take over the site you can't leave the kids alone there.We went off site for most of the hoilday.We only stayed in the carvan at night due to the police driving around all night.Site sucurity never saw any only two men for two minutes when the whole of bar was invaded by gipsies men women and children, we and the other holiday guest left the show room to the gipsies.The gipsies children ride there scooters through the show room and the site all the time play ball on the show room and threaten the holiday makers childrens all the time.In fact we the hoilday makers were driven out by the gipsies thier was more of them on site than us,and nothing was done.One child was hit in the pool by a gipsie thier were 15 of them in the pool that day.I took my grandaughter out of the pool and we spent our holiday od site.Don't go there please,it was pure hell.

when we a arrived on the campsite there was tents and tourers pitched anywhere they liked nobody seemed to no what they were doing.

There was also comerical vans every where first impressions were what the hell am i doing here,but decided to give the campsite ago.

that evening went to clubhouse entertainment was quite good,but the club house was tiny,not enough chairs so many people standing everywhere also hardly any choice of different drinks and pricey.

the campsite facilitys disscusting always blocked my partner went to use the males on two different ocaisions pooh and sick every where the cleaners where working really hard but with only fourteen toilets and about a five hundred people using them its no suprise they failed.kids seem to be everywhere with no parents running in the road so if your driving out you have to be careful because they stay in the road.

i saw a man empty waste water under cold water tap could have been urine.

The last straw for me is the back feild had traverlers on it driving in and out with tree cuttings bet they had'nt paid to be on site staff to scared to say anything.

Clacton it self great but do not stay here place is the pits better site in Clacton dont deserve your cash !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Certain staff sound very rude and aggresive. Would not have them working for my company. Park resorts need to address their roles. Apparently there have been numerous complaints to Park Resorts about this. They have been heard to brag about incidents where they take pleasure in assaulting people. And they are working in a child based family holiday camp!!! I wouldnt' like to bump into them on the way back to my caravan at night!!!!

This was our first experience of tent camping & we were more than happy with our stay. The toilet blocks & showers have been modernised fairly recently & an attendent was on hand to clean throughout the day so they were relatively clean considering the sand & grass being trapsed in! Try not to let the approach to the park put you off & don't expect a big clubhouse or pool & you won't be disappointed! The staff were friendly & the beach, with clear water(& jelly fish whilst we were there!) is conveniently over the road. I think this park is OK but the entertainment & facilities on site are not the same as your general 'Parkdean' & 'Haven' sites.

I have just taken my wife and 16 month old baby son to this resort for 3 nights. The holiday started a little rocky with the second outside door that never opened and caravan G119 partying until 0400 in the morning and then starting a fight with each other.The room my son was living in was infested with flees which we discovered when putting his baby cot away. I was disgusted that the attitude of the staff was so not interested to help. They are a joke!!!! Do not go there for a holiday unless you want flees and to swim in a 2 x 2 ft pool that closes at 5 in the afternoon.This is 4 star rated???? Shame on you!

The facilities at Martello Beach Holiday Park for the tents and tourers are dirty and neglected. The toilet and shower blocks need to be knocked down - they are so old and dirty.

The club house or whatever it is called is too small and the booking of sessions in the very small pool is crazy (and it is cold!)

All in all don't go there unless you have to.

The touring facilities on Martello Beach Holiday Park were the worst I have ever experienced in 20 years of camping.

The toilet block is inadequate for the amount of pitches and was not cleaned regularly.

There is a smoke alarm in the shower block that has been de activated.

There are only 2 washing up sinks for the whole touring site.

There are only 3 wash basins in the womens toilets.

There are electrical sockets placed very near the wash basins.

I did not want to use the shower because the waste water from all of the other showers washed past mine.

If I had a baby with me I would have left the site from day one!

I feel compelled to write this review based on our stay at Martello Beach resort. We arrived in Clacton and had to drive what I can only describe as a warzone. The park itself, well what a dissappointment. The pool was small and the whole area dirty. We used the camping facilites and again very dissappointing. Only two sinks for washing up and the toilets were disgusting. The holiday makers took great pleasure in smashing some of the tiles off the walls. The evening entertainment was the only plus where it appeared the whole site congregated in to the Showcase bar. More like a mission hut! I'd rather stay in a pig farm than go there again.
