Brilliant In Every Way!!!

Our second visit to Golden Coast and just as good as the first.

Accommodation was a silver lodge - clean, roomy and a lovely view.

Staff: friendly and helpful.

Parkstars - absolutely brilliant! Very funny and entertaining and absolutely worked their socks off. Had to cope with kids running about and parents not supervising but done in a good way - better to tell kids to get off dance floor than have an injury during showtime/

Shop not bad value for money.

Didn't use food facilities - cooked in in the more than adequate kitchen (although oven very slow).

Extremely well maintained park and didn't want come home (always a good sign).

Not sure what the people who give negative reviews expect - if you want a 5 star hotel go to one!

Great Family Holiday!

Just got back from golden coast and stayed in a lodge with everything we needed. Our party was 2 adults 2 children 9 and 7 and a 6 month old baby. The park was great with plenty to do, our children was not bored, entertainment was really good, the indoor pool was warm table tennis was free which we used all the time. I did find the steps a problem having a pushchair and to carry it up and down steps. The old mill pub was excellent and food was lovely and a fantastic play area for the children while you relax and eat in peace. The staff were very helpful and always had time for you. I read a lot of the reviews and was shocked to hear people moaning about the park, we went on holiday to have a great time and we did, thought it was very sad to take pictures of the property they stayed in and post it, if i wanted to nit pick i would probably find a few things to moan about, but i was there for our family to enjoy ourselves, Woolacombe is beautiful and our holiday will not be forgotten and we are pleased we chose golden coast and would recommend it to everyone!

Sarcastic Cheeky Unprofessional

woolacombe bay holiday parks .... I made a booking via the sun holidays,. I made an amendment to this booking adding further people after being advised i could change the dates to the week later by the sales representatives, (we were awaiting new start dates of my partners new job) staff advised me i could no problem then took £50 for a further 2 children, Then again confirmed this on the 14th aug at, i called to check availability of the park for the new dates 27/09/12 and was again told this was fine and i could call at any time to change the dates but it would incur a £25 fee. I called this morning after receiving the information we were awaiting from my partners company to be told i couldn't change the dates. I came off the phone and my partner wasn't very happy after we had now been told twice it was fine. I rang back to explain the situation and was spoken to like a child, being told to slow down while talking at normal pace and at one point in the call i was sarcastically laughed at between the two girls in the office! I'm very sorry but i am a professional fire fighter and work with the public every day, I feel the way this was handled was very unhelpful, unprofessional, and we have received inaccurate advice. After this visit will be our 6th time at woolacombe parks (only twice with the sun holidays) I can confirm we will not be going back. i accept i did not read the terms correctly however i was advised it was ok. This was indeed an error of the staff, which has not only cost us an extra £50 to add extra children with the understanding and guidance of being able to change the dates but we have also lost our holiday.

Batteries For Remote !!!!!

We have just got back from a 3 night break at the Golden Coast resort... We left a day early..

Firstly make it Clearer what time you can check in 4 pm is not convenient when you have a child under 2.... seems strange considering it says you have to check out around 10 am in the morning seems rather a long change around!?

I understand staff are always under pressure nowadays BUT when there is a problem with the accomodation in anyway especially when you have just checked in it should be dealt with, this was not the case....we reported the fact our TV from the ark ages ! had no batteries in the remote and no back which is unsafe with a toddler and was told someone would be over to fix 3 hrs later still no one had attended so I chased it up and was told it had been passed on and someone would be there asap... when we left still no batteries 2 days later NOT ACCEPTABLE SORRY !

On the plus side the the amusements, bowling and ball pit area are all good but they are much to small to cope with the amount of people who will use them on a wet day which we get loads off !.

Myself and partner totally love Woolacombe this is why we wanted to take our little boy who is nearly 2 for his first proper family holiday and have been left over all very dissapointed and will not be going back to woolacombe for a Very Very long time.

Although This Was Booked Through The Sun Voucher S

Although this was booked through the Sun voucher scheme at The Golden Coast Holiday Park, we were very disappointed with the accomodation. We were in The Pines, which I cannot see a photo of this on their website. It was filthy on the path leading up to it and inside was shabby. It smelt musty, damp, and even has a smell like drains., I wouldnt even let me dog (if I had one) lie on the furniture and the 2 armchairs were the type you see in old folks homes. The view from the windows was the back of a building where all the curtains were just about hung and looked decrepit. It was awful, the worst place I have been to in all my holiday life. We walked in and straight back out to reception and asked to be upgraded. They offered myself, daughter and grandson an upgrade but at a cost of £70!!! In the end we managed to persuade them to find us a mobile home at an upgrade of £25, which was slighly offsite. Nevertheless, that was fine. I do not know how they had the audacity to even think that people would want to stay in such a place as The Pines. It was an insult.

We Have Just Returned From A One Week Stay In A Ho

We have just returned from a one week stay in a Honeysuckle Lodge on the Golden Coast holiday park. This was our first time at this park and we absolutely loved it! Myself and my partner went with our three boys aged 13, 9 and 8 and there was plenty of things for them to do. Initially I was concerned after reading some of the reveiws on the internet, we were expecting the worst and packed plenty of cleaning products but we needn't have bothered, whilst not 5* luxury it was comfortable and clean. The only small gripe was that the sofa bed was a bit grubby but we had taken a throw just in case which we used and the beds weren't as comfortable as I would have liked but were not too bad and all of the bedding and duvets were clean so no complaints there. We were extremely lucky and had a lovely week of sunshine, which meant plenty of trips to the beach to do body boarding and to enjoy the outdoor pool. The ceramic studio was a lovely idea, the children chose their own piece of pottery and painted it themselves, which we then left with them to be glazed and fired and collected the next day, our boys really enjoyed it. They also enjoyed the climbing wall and the water walkers too. Pools were nice and clean, and there were lifeguards on the outdoor pool with the slides but not around the smaller indoor ones, but it wasn't a problem as we were in the water with them anyway. The Old Mill pub was great too with a lovely play area for the kids and outdoor seating complete with heaters for the chilly nights! So don't be put off by the bad reveiws, if you don't expect 5* luxury you won't be disappointed, it's a holiday park for families with children after all....we enjoyed it so much that we booked our next holiday with them before we left!

Just Got Back From A Camping Holiday To The Golden

Just got back from a camping holiday to the Golden Coast on arrival we were shown to our pitch by a friendly man who told us about some of the places to visit. The size of the pitches were quite spacious but the pitches were hard standing (pea shingle) ok for caravans but not very comfy if you have a tent (make sure you have a good air bed). The site has a good sized shop and good activities such as bowling, table tennis a cinema and many more. There are two indoor pools and one outdoor pool with slides. The down side of the park are the toilet block which could do with a good clean, in the 7 days that we stayed, there was no soap in the handwashing area and the toilets smelt. The swimming pool at cleavewood house was nice but needed a bit of DIY one of the doors of the changing rooms didnt lock and there was a jacuzzi with no bubbles!.My husband is a keen fresh water fisherman but was very disappointed with the lakes at Twitchen park there were 3 lakes, in the first lake there were tin cans and lots of rubbish. In the second lake the only fish in there was about a dozen small goldfish and in the third lake it was half full. The 2 lakes at the Gold Coast were small but adequate with small rudd and roach. Down the road from the park was Woolacombe beach and shops well worth the visit also would recomend going to Barnstable for some excellent shopping.

We Have Been To Woolacombe 3 Times And We Are Goin

We have been to Woolacombe 3 times and we are going again in April. Can't wait, really like the golden coast as its very family friendly. And the club is large but small enough to keep an eye on your children.

We stay in the honeysuckle lodges, its clean and comfortable for 4 adults and 2 children. Obviously, they probably need updating but all in all a very comfortable stay.

My son loves it as much as us.
