Stayed at Wasdale Campsite in March 2009 - Great weather ! If you are after some of the best the Lakes can offer, then camping here is a must. You can follow the crowds up the Scafells or better still walk up into Mosdale and do the horse shoe via the high level route and Pillar - Fantastic. Or just walk around England's deepest lake, my first girlfriends 'claim to fame' have swam in it ! The Barn door shop and Hotel pub offer great facilities for basic provisions, gear, and Real ale. Friendly people. An excellent spot to camp. Drive in via the Hard knott and Wrynose Pass - Englands steepest and best road !
