We Have Just Got Back From Great Langdale Campsit

We have just got back from great langdale campsite, We found that the online booking was a pain, as it wouldnt work and i had to ring to book at what can only be described as extorsionate prices with a booking fee.and to only pitch after 3 and off site before 11 really cuts into your time. But that said we arrived before 3 and was able to pitch earlier than this,

On the whole though the location, reaslly is in the heart of the lakes, quiet, peacefull, stunning scenery, polite, helpfull staff, clean and well maintained facillities, as for the weather, unpredictable, but if you let the weather stop you, you wouldnt do anything. We managed to pitch and unpitch inbetween showers and that was good enough for me. We were going to book our pitch for an extra night but was told we would have to move pitches, the site was a little loud when it filled up and this with the non flexible booking system may just have put me off this site for the future. but this was my experience, go and try it for yourself

Myself And A Group Of Friends Spent Three Nights A

Myself and a group of friends spent three nights at Great Langdale campsite during August 2006. Having not been out camping for a while it was a great excuse, especially as it coincided with unseasonably bad weather back home. The setting was beautiful. The Langdale Valley must be one of the most picturesque valleys in the Lakes. This was helped by some beautiful sunny weather. The campsite itself is well laid out, with clean shower blocks and a small but well stocked on-site shop.I think the only issue was how busy it was. Bank holiday weeks must always be busy for campsites, but I got the feeling this site got a bit too full before the "no vacancies" signs went up. I felt a bit too close to other groups. Amazingly, it wasn't as loud as some other reviewers have reported, but maybe we were just lucky.I'd certainly go back to Great Langdale (in fact I'm trying to plan another trip in the near future), but would probably avoid "busy" times like summer bank holidays.

I Have Been Using This Site, Great Langdale Nt Cam

I have been using this site, Great Langdale Nt Campsite, over the last 20 years and it does have an excellent location and facilities, but the cost is a major factor and there needs to be more control on numbers.

A Good Camp Site With Excellent Facilities But Bus

A good Camp site with excellent facilities but busy, noisy, and expensive. But I suppose you get what you pay for. We are national trust members, but still had to pay full fee - not happy about that. Getting a bit silly on price as the cost would covered a good chunk of the cost of a stay at a B&B!

Great Langdale Nt Campsite Is Situated In A Outsta

Great Langdale Nt Campsite is Situated in a outstandingly beautiful area, this campsite is very easy to reach. The facilities on site are great & very well maintained. The added bonus of an excellent drying room is a godsend in the Lake District! The onsite shop is also very well stocked & open good hours. The walking is fantastic & the staff were helpful.

The site itself is split into 2 areas - one for general camping & a family field. However, the site was ridiculously busy & very noisy & a lot of the only available space for pitching in the family field was underwater!!!

Personally, we won't be going back.
