Cross Dormont, Penrith

We stayed here during bank holiday end of May 2010.

This place is in my opinion is over priced and the facilities are poor, badly laid out and insufficient for the number of campers this site can hold.

There was a lack of respect for the campsite rules, noise well into the early hours, engines running, music blaring and irresponsible families with babies at 6mnth old who were crying with the cold temp that even us adults were shivering with.

There were portaloos dotted around though the actual facilities were terrible. The dish washing area consists of two sinks crammed together with no area to place your dishes for one sink. There is a lack of hot water also.

The worst about it is that the dish washing area is right next to two dog pens which smelled awful of the usual dog mess and urination. Not very hygienic. Also the shower area was cramped and unsuitable with one shower for the males, one toilet and one sink!!!

The waste disposal area is like an open dump. It consisted of two large canvas bags at the entrance the field which always seemed to be full.

Overall, in my opinion I would not recommend this sitento anyone. We came here as the site welike going to was full and the owner directed us to Cross Dormont. A real idiot.
