Dont Buy A Caravan On This Site

Mr Gillespie senior has now retired and his son now runs this site. He is a very ignorant man and this site is going downhill fast. Most owners are selling up or moving to another site. Most of the staff are also leaving. If you are thinking about buying a caravan on this site then think again

I Have Just Returned From Brighouse Bay The Campsi

i have just returned from brighouse bay the campsite was beautifull and the beach was close i had 4 young children with me and and was able to keep them entertained the park was great but the games room was very poor the horse riding was expensive and the quads were only for teenagers and adults. the shower rooms were very clean but the laundrett was very expensive and very poor value for money there was no night entertainment which was dissapointing for a camp site so large i would recoment it if you just want a qiuet holiday but i would not return unless they had more entertainment at nite as i got bored easily

Stayed Here For 2 Nights With Two Toddlers. I Thou

Stayed here for 2 nights with two toddlers. I thought that it was a lovely family friendly park with lots to do. There were a lot of people with animals but I didn't see any dog mess at all and with all the children it was surprisingly very peaceful - no early rises with children (or people) waking people up.

We camped at an electrical point which was next to the shop. The camp had a nearby beach, trail in a forest, stables, play parks, swimming pool, shop (which wasn't expensive,)bar/entertainment at night, ponds, mini golf and proper golf and other things which i didn't get the time to go to.

The only thing which let it down was the cleanliness of the toilets. We used the unisex block and I think they were superficially cleaned as they needed a good scrub and wipe down. The swimming pool as well needed to be mopped up more. There were brand new toilets there which I heard were much better but I didn't get to see it.

The resort also had lodges and caravans.

Brighouse Bay, Kirkcudbright Camp Site Is In A Goo

Brighouse Bay, Kirkcudbright camp site is in a good location for days out and exploring the Dumfries and Galloway coastline. It has everything you need for a couple of days without moving from the site (provided you shop well before arrival).

It is a very busy and noisy campsite, and some pitches 'crammed in' people, so they were traipsing across pitches. On every visit we have made to this site the electricity always trips out on the whole of the campsite. Toilet blocks are heavily used causing problems to the hot water supply at peak times, and some parents were allowing unsupervised access to toilet blocks, which also means being faced with dirty, unflushed facilities. Unsupervised dog walking has meant we have had to clean up after other peoples dogs being walked by their kids.

We Had A Really Good Holiday At Brighouse Bay Camp

We had a really good holiday at Brighouse Bay campsite. My kids are 6 & 8 and they loved the freedom. They were fishing in the ponds every day with their nets. We camped on the quiet site and it was ideal for us the views were beautiful. We were lucky that the weather was excellent. The food up in the clubhouse was fine. We did not use the indoor pool because of the good weather. We visited the site at Seaward and used the outdoor pool it looked a lovely site also. The toilet facilities were great. We will definitely go back.

Our First Maiden Voyage In Our New Caravan Was Spe

Our first maiden voyage in our new caravan was spent at Kirkcudbright - Brighouse Bay. Apart from the weather, this was a great site for families. The washing facilities were excellent and the site was very clean. Kids can go swimming, play in the games room (although money required). The younger kids enjoyed the play areas and touring vans are well pitched to keep an eye on the little ones. All in all an excellent start to our caravan holidays. This is a 1200 acre site and you don't feel hemmed into a small pitch. Close to the sea, fishing ponds, otters pool and 9 hole golf course. Oliver age 4 loved it.
