Loch Lomond, Beinglas Campsite

Great stop for anyone walking the west highland way. The shop was a must and the restaurant was on point after a long day's walk.

Friendly staff. Pub/Restaurant, indoor shelter with cooker, sink, washer and drier, spotless toilet/shower blockshop. What more can a walker or camper ask for.

Seen some unkind reviews about beinglas but I suspect these were written by either disgruntled former staff or folk who were tossed off the site for drunkeness. Don't pay heed to bad reviews. Go and see for yourself.

I've been there for the last five years and seen nothing untoward. Great place.

The shelter is good for keeping dry and cooking, but overall I would not recommend this campsite for West Highland Way walkers, families or anyone who wants to get a night's sleep.There were lots of foreigners on the site and the behaviour of some of the drunken locals made me feel quite ashamed of British culture.

This is not somewhere to go for peace and quiet and although some people may strike lucky when they go I would personally not risk it. Scary, frightening and obscene. I braved the midges at midnight packed my tent and left relieved that my kids would not have to witness any more than they had already.

Beinglas campsite in Loch Lomond is an amazing place, with all the facilities and spotlessly clean. All the staff are pleasant and helpful, and it was great to find an indoor shelter in bad weather, which also had cooking facilities and washing and drying machines.

It is certainly the best place I have camped, and I highly recommend it.

Beinglas Campsite is right on the West Highland way. It is fabulous for walkers! The food is amazing. The scenery is lovely, and the place was spotlessly clean with good facilities. It is slightly dearer compared to other campsites, as it is in the middle of a popular walk. Loch Lomond is a few miles away, so there is only a river there, and the midges are fierce. The food was great value for money. Try to book at the height of the season, as this site is well used by walkers.
