We stayed 24-26 July 2010. The site is in a fantastic location overlooking the sea. The owners Gordon and Mary are fab. They don't let the site get overcrowded so there is lots of space for children to play. They even have donkeys. The toilets and showers are kept very clean. I will return to this site for sure.
Spent A Week (20th - 27th June) At This Fantastic
Spent a week (20th - 27th June) at this fantastic site, Nant-y-Croi Farm. Scenery is delightful, and the campsite itself was very well kept. Gordon and Mary are fantastic hosts and really care about your welfare and offered good advice about the surrounding areas.
Mwnt and it's beach and mound are an Oasis, great sheltered beach and even bottle nose dolphins made several visits.
All in all would highly recommend to those wanting to get away from it all for peace and quiet in tranquil surroundings.
Will be visiting again next year..and the year after...and the year after etc.
When We Got There And Pitched Our Tent There Was P
When we got there and pitched our tent there was plenty of space between us and the next people. The owners were always very welcoming and would always say hi if you passed them. We liked it that he came round on his quad bike and said hi and asked if we were OK and most of the time we had quite a long conversation with him. Mobile phones do not work in and around the site but if you go to the top of the hill you get reception. Lots of hot water for washing up in a large building with fridges for ice blocks. Mwnt is a superb beach just 20 min walk away. Seals can be seen off the rocks at the cove 5 min away. We will certainly be back next year, our children really enjoy it and make lots of friends. If the weather is good you cant beat it but prolonged rain made us struggle when finding things to do!
Also the Theatre in Cardigan is fantastic we watched a film and it was very reasonable. Looking forward to next year.
The Owner Was Such A Great And Friendly Farmer, It
The owner was such a great and friendly farmer, it was nice that he would take time out of his day to come round every evening and morning to see if we were OK. His wife's cooking was delicious, especially her Bara Brith (a type off fruit bread) their dog was so sweet, she would come bounding round every day. If you are thinking of going, take loads of carrots, their donkeys and ponies love to eat them. In you take a wander down to the beach, in one of the fields you cans see the bay, I saw two pods of dolphins and a seal there (the dolphins are very hard to spot because they could be anywhere, and you only see there backs breaking the surf). All you should do is just take sometime to really concentrate down on one spot because you are likely to eventually spot one or more.
Turned Up At Nant-y-croi Farm At 10.15 Pm, Pitched
Turned up at Nant-y-Croi Farm at 10.15 pm, pitched up( couldn't really see where until the morning) ended up in the middle of the field as we discovered the next day. It is a good size site and Gordon was so laid back and pleasant, he came to see us the next day to make sure we settled in ok(wasn't after payment). We recommend this site to anyone, the scenery is beautiful. Saw 4 sealions but no dolphins, hope to catch them next visit(2 weeks time). Pay Gordon a visit you won't regret it!
This Was Our First Camping Holiday. We Decided On
This was our first camping holiday. We decided on Nant-y-Croi Farm after reading the reviews on this website. All are accurate.
There is plenty of room. Tents/caravans are on a slightly sloping field with stunning sea views (dried very quickly after rain). It is a five minute walk to a private cove to watch for dolphins and seals There are separate male/female toilet blocks with toilet rolls and handtowels provided plus a separate block with 2 family-sized shower rooms. We didn't have to queue.
The utility room is a 2 minute walk away and next to the farmhouse. There are 2 large sinks with hot water for washing up, 2 washing machines, tumble dryer and fridge freezer. Washing machines and tumbler take £1 and 20p coins.
You can buy eggs, bacon, sausages, bread, milk, home-baking from the farmhouse.
The farmer and his wife are incredibly helpful - I was even offered the use of the washing line outside the farmhouse. After a short spell of nasty weather, one tent had collapsed. The family returned after dark- the farmer was waiting to light up the tent with his headlights and help them fix the tent. Then he towed a caravan in front of the tent to protect it from the wind. Apart from that, he or one of his employees visited the site 3 or 4 times a day to check everyting was OK, empty the bins and clean/stock up the toilets/showers.
The kids (7 and 12) had a ball! There's plenty of space and they loved the animals (especially a ride on Princess the pony - Thurs and Sun I think - Princess is saddled and helmet provided). There are plenty of beautiful beaches close by. We went to Aberporth (£1.50 to park all day, beach shop, cafe, take-away, lifeguards, toilets within yards), and went crabbing at Lower Fishguard harbour (free to park, toilets, countless crabs). There is a small exhibition called Oceanlab at Fishguard - it has free parking, a gift shop and an excellent cafe (cheap- inc. huge pots of tea and home made cakes).
We stayed for 4 nights - next time it will be for at least 10.
It Was Our First Holiday In Wales, And The Welcome
It was our first holiday in Wales, and the welcome we received from the owners of the Nant-y-Croi Farm Campsite in Cardigan, was lovely! They made us feel at home straight away.
The site is very large, and has toilets and showers, that are always clean (they were cleaned twice a day during our stay). The laundry and pot washing room was of the same standard, and they had been thoughtful enough to supply a freezer. There were daily visits to check if everything was OK. The view across the bay was stunning, and it was only a short walk to the cove where you could see the dolphins and seals.
I would recommend this campsite to anyone, and will definitely be going back. Unfortunately we will have to wait until next year. Thanks for a wonderful place to spend a holiday.

Extremely Friendly And Hospitable Farmer, Who Make
Extremely friendly and hospitable farmer, who makes every effort more than once a day, to make sure you are having a good time and have no problems (and to have a general chat!). Fantastic scenery - quiet and rural with stunning views of the sea and island. Good facilites for campers/caravans - toilet blocks very clean with toilet rolls, soap and hand towels provided! Shower rooms were large and clean - our family got in one comfortably to change, and the showers were nice and hot. Plenty for the children to see, and the Farmer was happy for us to go anywhere on the farm. My daughter loved the rides on 'Princess' the Donkey (which was free!). Local beach is stunning! Soft, white sand and enclosed on three sides with a good shop for tea/coffee nearby. Will definately come back. Found our little haven!
