This Was The Third Time On Hal And First Aboard Th
This was the third time on HAL and first aboard the Eurodam. I was very disappointed in the quality of food in the main dining room, the service provided for the open seating was lacking. Quality of breakfast and lunch at lido rest. was down right awful. I honestly have had better quality food from banquet and stouffers. Suite was dusty and dingy. The ship appeared to be 20 years old, not 2. Carpet on the llth floor outside of the Tamirind restaurant was absolutly disgustingly dirty. The diamond and sapphire necklace I won when my name was drawn by the shopping "expert" at the shore excursion meeting wasn't worth the taxi fare to Diamonds International in ST. Thomas. ( This is an awful marketing ploy HAL, you guys must really be hurting for money!!) Pinnacle grill dinner was outstanding. Overall this cruise was a big disappointment. Will not travel with HAL again.
Oh God I think I have picked the wrong cruise line. I thought this was supposed to be a 'superior' company. Oh well we will have to make the best of it as we sail on Monday.

I Loved Holland America Line, Ms Eurodam Ship, The
I loved Holland America Line, MS Eurodam ship, the crew, the food, the entertainment, and everything else!!! The room was lovely and we had a gorgeous balcony where we spent many mornings watching the ship dock at our various island stops. They treated us like royals and were always smiling and entertaining us. They were delightful! We enjoyed the shows and casino just about every night. The food was phenominal especially if you like prime rib, lobster and as much shrimp as you could consume. This was my 2nd cruise and I am already researching my next HAL cruise. I highly recommend the Eurodam!!!

Holland America Line, MS Eurodam. Had been worried because of earlier reviews. Onboard by 11:30. Directed to beautiful Soup, Salad, Entree, Dessert luncheon served in Rembrandt DiningRoom. Room ready at 1:30 and our bags were waiting on the bed. Plenty of storage. Large bathroom with Great water pressure. Room #7132, Stern of ship port side. No noise or creaking. Comfortable bed. Friendly crew and spotless ship. Loved our week! Don't miss the Power Snorkel on Grand Turk and be sure to catch a cab $8 each way per person to Sapphire or Emerald Beach. No crowds, Beautiful on St. Thomas.

The Ms Eurodam Is A Remarkable Ship, But It Requir
The MS Eurodam is a remarkable ship, but it requires improvements. I had a good time but far from an excellent time. The last two hours, one had to wait in order to vacate the ship. We were greatly disturbed by staff members, who had to clean the cabin, while we had to wait. An undignified exit.
I found this review somewhat helpful because... nthee ship is/was new and so breaking in staff can take a bit - not a surprising comment. Quality of food was VERY disconcerting - since all of my experiences on Holland-America I would rate it amongst the very top of the "cruise" lines. The wit for disembark is very normal, in my exdperience unless you have requested early disembarkation to catch a flight, etc. A cleaning crew intervening is not appropriate or they werent advised to please to go elsewhere to disembark as the cleaning is imerpative (new quests begin arriving around 11am and bags are always put outside the door first thing in the morning - so i wonder about this comment....

Overall good first experience. I think I would like it better if I went with a group that didn't think of meal time as a feeding frenzy however. I will definitely opt for private dining next time. Congtats on a beautiful ship!!

The Photographers On The Ms Eurodam Suggested Grou
The photographers on the MS Eurodam suggested groups to stand and pose on stairway. When asked if there are other locations on ship that would be suitable, they could not offer any suggestions.I thought the color scheme of the ship was drab. The walls have pale green wall paper, the carpet is utility brown/gray. The 2-seater couch in the cabin is olive green. It did not give me the impression of "WOW, this is a NEW ship!"When a party of two was brought to a table (at the Open Dining Restaurant) that seated 4, they were not told ahead of time that another unrelated party of 2 would be seated with them. It is only courtesy that all parties be informed before they were seated that they would be sharing a table, so that they would have a choice to take that 4-seater table or waited for a 2-seater table.Our waiters at the Pinnacle Restaurant to me seemed like did not know the basics of taking food orders and serving. They presented the wrong dishes to the guests. Also it seemed they did not know that the entree item should be presented facing the guests to offer the best presentation.The quality of the shows was poor in my opinion. There was a guitar expert that showed off his expertise in playing different guitars. He could not remember his lines. He lead the strings, the band and other musicians for a group performance, and had to stop it, cause the other performers could not follow him. All pointed to seemingly a lack of proper rehearsals. Also the neon lights on the stairway by the stage seemed to be malfunctioning. It was flashing non stop and I found it so distracting. Very surprised that it wasn't fixed for the duration of the cruise.When asking for orange juice at the casual cafe, the attendant would point to the glasses of juices that were in the refrigerators. Those were orange juice from concentrate. One had to ask for "real" orange juice before the attendant would provide. Further, toiletries in cabin bathroom were not automatically replenished. If you used half a bottle of shampoo, it would stay where it was. Only when you used it all, it would be replaced.
I found this review not helpful because...picky ... minor items/distractions but no real "picture" of the overall experience, together with perhaps nsome examples of other ships/cruise lines to give some sense of comparison ...
My wife and I were both wondering if this reviewer replaces a half-full bottle of shampoo at home; we doubt it. We have traveled extensively, and if the food is not presented to us in the way that we consider "proper", our meal/trip is not ruined.
What's wrong with having to use an already opened bottle of shampoo? Why waste it?

I Did Not Think The Ship Was Cosy, Show Lounge And
I did not think the ship was cosy, show lounge and shopping centre were horrible, long waiting lines everywhere. Is this size the standard for the future? Goodbye to Statendam, Zaandam, Rotterdam and all those fine ships.
I felt the prelude cruise did not give value for money: only two shows, no information from the captain, too much attention for the vips on board.

I Did Experience Some Bad Points With Holland Amer
I did experience some bad points with Holland America Line, MS Eurodam which are as follows:
Ratio staff passenger seemed rather low
Staterooms much smaller than usual older HAL shipsTV 50% in size reduced
TV can not turn - must watch TV from bed!
Cabin Steward no longer listed on phone > now 'guest relations' which took longer to address my queries/needs
Long queues in front of speciality restaurants > staff appeared to be unable cope
Thought the Internet cafe was tiny and same size as their 1200 passenger ships > net broke down or said differently was ultra-ultra slow
Pinnacle Grill was now enhanced due to its 2nd floor location with the extra noise of the engine room and the tables shake equally due to the engine!
Difficulty to book speciality restaurants in general
Front desk located on the first floor which now increases endless criss crossing of the ship due to the new 'improved' logistics
The staterooms labelled as Spa Rooms are very noisy as passengers visiting the observation desk must cross the hallway of these stateroonms to reach the elevators on the 10th floor on this end of the ship
Fresh fruits are served complimentary to your room on embarkation, precut, but cutlery is not served with it
The laundry and cabin-steward rooms in the hallways have been removed, be happy to meet your cabin steward
No feedback forms given at the end of the cruise
Overall, I feel that Holland America has truly moved forward to Carnival Cruise Lines if it wasn't for the decoration, mass transport, gone are the days of the older, more comfortable HAL cruise ships where passengers were the focus!
I found this review not helpful because... picky - short term on board not a "regular " cruise length of say a week ... (i cruise a great deal on an umber of diff ships)
