Norwegian Star To Hawaii And Fanning Island 2002

I enjoyed my Norwegian Cruise Line in 2002. I only paid extra for my meal one time and that was for the Japanese sushi. I woke up one night at 3 a.m and I felt hungry. I didn't know they deliver room service for a charge of 7.95 I started walking and I found a Chinese restaurant for free that was open 24 hours a day. I had a wonderful meal in the middle of the night. My cabin was an inside cabin. It was ok because I was all alone. After returning from Fanning Island, I was so tired I went right to sleep without eating dinner. A nice cabin attendant came to my door and asked me if I was sick. I said no I feel fine but I am just tired. I did eat at several restaurants and I enjoyed that breakfast buffet next to the outdoor pool with a view of the ocean. It had pancakes, bacon, eggs, all kinds of fruit and fresh coffee. No one disturbed me. I also enjoyed the indoor pool and the jacuzzi. Basically, I didn't ask for anything extra. I kind of wandered around the ship, but the cruise seemed to end too soon and it was a 10 day cruise. I wanted to stay on the ship a little longer but before I knew it we were back in Honolulu.

Other Hawaiian Cruises Like The 15 Day From San Pe

Other Hawaiian cruises like the 15 day from San Pedro, California or from Vancouver will be a better choice for a Hawaiian cruise. The ship is smaller than the 7 day Mexican Riviera Cruise by Royal Caribbean. Decks were not properly designed. Decks 5 & 6, where the shops and specialty restaurants have limited "flow" you can enter and exit these premises using just the left side of the ship. I highly NOT RECOMMEND this cruise ship as there are others out there that are more superior in terms of service, food, entertainment and for the value of the money you pay.

On Check In Which Started At 12oclock We Were On B

On check in which started at 12oclock we were on board soon after .But cabins were not ready until 3.30pm!!! Do not atempt too take any alcohal in your bags as the screen all bags and take it off you , The two free restants had a menue nearly the same !, service was slow and food basic !The other 6 restants had a sircharge .Shame on NCL for doing this as when you pay for a cruise you think all meals are included. The evening intertainment was disappointing .One up side was tea and coffee making in your own cabin. Do this cruise if you want to do the island, but if you want to be spoiled ,go too Princess crusies where the food and intertainment is fantastic

Went On This Cruise With A Group Of Friends So Ext

Went on this cruise with a group of friends so external entertainment was not our top priority but what we experienced we enjoyed for the most part. Food was good and plentiful in all restaurants save for one disappointing meal in the Liberty Restaurant. Staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. Downsides were the confusion over gratuities and the over-priced excursions. There was a compulsory amount automatically deducted for gratuities and that was supposed to be the end of it, but, you were advised to tip for good service (so you were tipping on the double??) It was all very confusing and we would rather have been left to decide for ourselves who we should tip. Excursions were outrageously expensive which was a pity as we would have done more of them if we didn't feel we were being ripped off. Overall a good experience.

Category Af - Family Suite With Balcony, 10678. Tw

Category AF - Family Suite with Balcony, 10678. Two adults in one room with queen, two boys 16 & 11 sharing a queen sofa bed and daughter 14 in separate room with king single. Massive Balcony with lounges, deck chairs and views to die for! We read a lot of reviews prior to booking so we feel obligated to make some comments.

Arranged accommodation prior on "www.hotwire.com" we booked the mystery hotel. Do your research and you can almost guess the hotel with a good discount to any other internet/travel agent rate. Book your transport before you travel and save. We used Enterprise, they have special rates on taxis/limo to and from the airport as well as hire cars on all the islands.Hiring a car is not for everyone. However if you have a group of 4 or more and don't mind driving on the other side of the road this is the most economical way to travel.

Being Aussies we believe in when in Rome do what the Romans do. We tipped everyone who provided a service. 15% for good and 10% for bad! Porters $1 a bag and $2 to make your bed!

The cruise staff were excellent! We only tipped the people who made our beds $10 when we arrived and $10 when we left. A service charge is included on your drinks and on your bill. If we ever needed something extra for the room we had it straight away. Kids loved the buffet and if you go to the Cadillac Diner you can take a meal to your room. Breakfast/Dinner we ate at several restaurants and always had good food and service. Piano bar was hard to avoid after a busy day on the island, Lauren providing some helpful advice on the next island while serving a cocktail. Lava Flow, Mud Slide, Mai Tai.........

Kids loved playing Dodge Ball, Table Tennis, Water Volley Ball, Gym (16 and over) and the POOLS!

We spend 4 days on Hawaii prior to the cruise and 2 days after.

My wife and daughter enjoyed the shopping while the boys and I spent quality time at the beach and pool.

Sensational hassle free holiday, relaxing and would recommend it to friends!

I found this review very helpful because...

We are a family of 4 Aussies from Perth booked in this exact suite and we were very interested if the balcony was actually as big as it looks.

This Cruise Exceeded Our Expectations In Many Way

This cruise exceeded our expectations in many ways, but especially the service provided by all the crew. They were extremely friendly, very thoughtful and helped in any way they could. Our cabin (handicapped) was fantastic - very comfortable king bed and lots of storage. Loved evenings on the balcony watching the full moon shining on the ocean and birds following the ship. The shows were worth staying up for even though we were up and on the go early each morning. To make sightseeing easier with with using a wheelchair, we rented a car each day and did our own touring -very easy.

Everyone we talked with said they were having a wonderful time and we find it hard to believe the criticisms we have read.

Before We Travelled To Hawaii We Read Lots Of Nega

Before we travelled to Hawaii we read lots of negative reviews and were quite anxious however we needn't have been. The NCL Pride of America was brilliant, the food was excellent in the Aloha Restaurant for breakfast and dinner lots of choice and variety. The entertainment was adequate and we especially enjoyed the magician, The Second City and the Polynesian celebration evening. We did think the cost of water $4.50 a bottle was expensive but got our own on shore. The staff were all extremely friendly especially our room concierge, she couldn't do enough for us. The cruise was magical and we saw the larva flowing into the sea at night and the N'apali coastline which are two sights to remember for the rest of your life and could only be seen from sea or air. We had our photograph taken professionally and these are great keepsakes. All in all I can't say a bad word about this cruise and would love to do it again it is the ideal cruise to see the Hawaiin islands.

Worst Cruise. Been On Twelve. Ncl Has Gone Too Far

Worst cruise. Been on twelve. NCL has gone too far its cut backs. Save your money. Island hop by plane or just pick one. Too many things were closed without announcements. Some staff were rude. Menu items were not available early on. No real entertainment. Cruise director was the headline singer.

Dude, you go there to see Hawaii, not to stay onboard the whole trip, is that what you did? If so, poor you, of course there's no HUGE attractions and shows, it ain't Vegas my friend! Have REAL expectations my friend!!
