Run Away. Don't Rent A Car Here

Mafia. Please run away when you hear Ecovia

Please allow people to grant a zero star to this company.

Before I booked a car with the Porta Nuova office in Torino, I called reservations and I made it clear that I only have a visa prepaid card and the person who answered my call said that it is OK to use it.

So I booked the car and when I wanted to pick it up in the above mentioned office, I was told that only credit cards were accepted.

I immediately knew that I was dealing with a mafia that wants to take your money at all costs.

I called the lady in reservations only to be told that an oral OK is not reliable and that they only abide by what's in the written conditions. I asked for a refund and guess what?? No refund.

I asked the lady to give me her name and she said she had no name.

The 2 guys in the office were very rude and unhelpful.

This is a company that banks only on taking people's money so run away if you hear their name.

Excellent Vehicle & Service

Yes we were persuaded to purchase full insurance cover, which totally makes sense, leaving us with €0 to pay for in case anything at all went wrong, hence money well spent for the peace of mind we got.

Not only that but the gentleman behind the desk was totally well mannered and pleasant to deal with.

The cherry on the cake was that we were upgraded from Economy category to a practically brand new Kia Sportage which really enhanced our experience. 5 stars ⭐️ for sure

The Company Should Die

Such companies should die. Typical old fashioned company focused on getting eddtional money (we do not want such things on the market!!!!) No solution orientated. Only additional money. People I am bagging - pay 20EUR more bit choose another one….

Bad And Rude Service!

Back in april we booked a car at ecovia, to be picked up on July 8, In firenze. When we got there, the guy refused to give us the car. He was very rude to us, but also to the other customers (the cue was 1,5! because of this while in the neighbor car rental offices, everything went very smoothly). We couldn't reach anyone at the customer service and when we later emailed them, we got no answer. We also mailed to the complaints account, still without any answer, and without getting our money back! worst experience ever at a car rental!!

We had a similar experience. Contact your bank, explain what happened and ask them for a chargeback. They can help you recover your money from Ecovia.

Terrible, Deceitful

First they gave me an off brand car that had dual fuel options, being Metano natural gas or gasoline. No big deal until you realize the gasoline tank only holds about two gallons of gas…with a range of about 60 to 75 kilometers. There are virtually no Metano stations in ItLy, se we were forced to stop every 45 minutes to refill the small gasoline tank.

Then they found hidden damage (light scratches) under the front bumper that I did not cause. They then charged (1) for the estimated cost of repair, (2) loss of use during the repair period, and (3) an administrative fee. This car had damage all over which was I repaired…so they never repair damage, just charge you for loss of use and keep on renting.

In retrospect I have read lots of reviews (wish I had done that first) and it is amazing how many renters tell the same story…damage located on the underside of a bumper!

Do yourself a favor and use any company other than Autovia/Ecovia!!!!

Warning Do Not Use.

WARNING DO NOT USE.

Used pre existing damage ( tiny paint chips underneath the front bumper only visible if led on the ground in front of the car ) to make a claim. Badly treated throughout all my dealings with them, even serving other people in between dealing with me behind me in the que. Being cheap is a false economy as they will use deceitful ways to make you pay more and bump up the price. Use a bigger, reputable company and save yourself the time money and aggravation.

Avoid At All Costs!

I rented a car in Sicily. At place I was forced to pay additional 300 Euro (additional indurance). I was not able to cancel order in EconomyBookings and get my money back. They refused to figure out problem and stopped responding.

The reason they gave for additional 300E insurance was that I had debit not credit card - but the gladly took the payment from debit. I am not the only one this is almost a procedure - I had not this problem earlier....

Worst Rental Experience Ever

They charged me 120 euro for an invisible scratch they claimed I did;it was useless to try to speak with their management. Clearly employees have bonuses on the scooby doo damages they charge on their clients

Fantastic Service From The Moment We Entered The B

Fantastic service from the moment we entered the building. The person I dealt with was very polity, provided all the information we needed and suggested an upgrade based on our requirements that we kindly accepted. On returning the car he was there, he recognised us and looked after us as well as on the arrival, we could not have been more pleased with the car and the service we received and I will be certainly renting again with him.

We have rented a car from you at Bergamo Airport through Happy Car from 6 Feb. 2023 to 13 Feb 2023. Pick up time was 10 pm on 6 Feb.

When we arrived at your counter shortly after 10 pm on 6 Feb the counter was closed. People from other rental comp. told us that you close at 10 pm although We had given to Happy car our flight number FR8548 arriving at Bergamo at 9.50pm.

We tried to reach you by phone - no answer.

We tried to reach the emergency number for calls after office hours (Wise cars) - no answer.

We were very frustrated that the counter was closed and nobody had waited for us for another 30 min as it is common use with rental companies.

We had to rent another car at an exceptional higher rate.

This is NO SERVICE:

- no indication on booking confirmation neither on Happy car portal that you close at 10pm

- closed counter shortly after agreed pick up time of 10 pm

- No phone number working

How can you accept bookings with pick up time at 10pm when you are not prepared or willing to wait for clients for say 30 min. as nobody can be there on the minute in these days? All other rental companies confirmed that they wait for their clients even when they are late!

We expect some compensation for this unfriendly and not customer oriented behaviour.

Next time different rental company!!!
