Unfit For Purpose
my review is late because there would have been a chance that people would have been dismissed if I'd have wrote this.at the point where it all happened and date. The Irish cabal in Darwin were unhelpful rude and argumentative to a pair of senior citizens on a holiday that you save for and get once in a lifetime .The motorhome was dirty hadn't been cleaned property ,the service when we broke down was treated by a simpletonin some remote area who seemed genuinely upset that you had caused him some work for that day maybe woken him up.I wouldn't use this group again. The drop off was really good ,showed how it should be done .but overall a very dissapointed purchase, but when you have bought this up front they can talk and treat you like whatever they like. do yourself a favour and don't be dissapointed with this outfit like we were .for what it cost ,You deserve better.ripped off and caught out by amateurs who know how to take your money very good at that ,but didn't deliver .Who pays your wages I ask the question not this customer again.

Blood On Sheets
Parents in law just picked up vw crafter. After finishing 10 day tour in mercedes sprinter and getting good service in Melbourne due to an issue at Adelaide, my mother in law was shocked and utterly disappointed to find blood on bed sheets and crusty pillow slips that look like they were never washed. They are happy with the vehicle but very disappointed in the cleanliness of linen as they spent a lot of money on their motorhome rental only to receive a sub standard product. Maybe maui is just getting too big to be able to attain high standards they aspire to. If you choose this company, I recommend carefully checking all items in depot before heading off on your trip..
Dirty Motorhomes
We have rented Maui motorhomes from Perth quite a few times, and they have always been dirty when we have received them, once with breakfast still on the plates in the cupboard and shavings in the bathroom sink. Yuk. Maui were uninterested, as they already had our money. Beware.
Hi there
We were really disappointed to read that the motorhome you collected from our Perth branch was not cleaned to the standard it should have been and can assure you that this is not what our customers should expect. We have passed your comments on to our Perth Manager, however if you would like to further discuss this please do feel free to contact us at [email protected].
Kind regards

We Rented A Campervan From Maui And Would Not Reco
We rented a campervan from Maui and would not recommend our worst enemy to rent a campervan with this company. We paid Eur 2000/12days for a Mercedes Sprinter, which was a good camper.
Upon arrival we had to leave a warrant for Usd 7200. As many visa/mastercards this big amount was not possible to take at once; so we had to pay a full insurance in order to get the camper released. We checked with the staff about possible tollroads and were informed those were not applicable for us!Eventually we got fined by the government due to the lack of info from Maui. No verbal as written info about the toll roads were given. As the government did not have our postal address, Maui informed the authorities the driver details for USD 35 / fine!!!!
We took 2 fines. We checked on the website of Roam for the tollnotices and found out that we were not the only tourists who got crooked by Maui. Easy way of earning money!

We Do Not Recommend Maui Motorhomes In Nz. We Pai
We do not recommend Maui motorhomes in NZ. We paid premium hire and after experiencing a long delay at pick up (they couldn't find our van), we discovered that the van was dirty (inside and out). On the first day, we counted 12 major things wrong including side door lock broken, one bed broken, stains on the linen (yuk!), towels torn, blinds broken, microwave on it's very last legs, etc. When we told Maui on return, they were not interested. I should have read more customer reviews before I booked Maui.

We Have Used Both Britz And Maui Motorhomes For Th
We have used both Britz and Maui motorhomes for the last 10 years, but the last 2 times we have used Maui (spirit 4 but for 2 people only) the vans have been dirty, filthy seats, big gouges in the woodwork and fridge doors, celings above cab were full of feetmark from shoes. we have only just returned from a 3 month tour of Australia and used Maui motorhomes both east and western australia, both were dirty, and for this we paid a huge amount of money, they are not interested when you say that the van is yet again not fit to use, it always takes us 2 days to completely disinfect and clean everything. Yet they say that if you do not return the van clean they will charge you 220 Dollars, which means the van is only as clean as the last person left it. Sorry Maui but we will not use you anymore.

Disappointed!!! Disgusted With Their Bad Service A
Disappointed!!! Disgusted with their bad service attitudes.
Absolutely dreadful customer service when things go wrong... totally focussed on themselves and how we were causing them a problem by phoning in with problems with the vehicle.
Paid high premium for the latest release of their super duper Platinum Beach - not cheap so expecting something really special.
Arrived Auckland airport and waited over an hour to be seen to and handed the vehicle because not enough staff...
We were given a quick briefing and off we went. 2 adults and 2 children in a totally brand new top of the range Maui campervan.
Just after hitting the road, we realised there was no rearview mirror so we called into the helpline and were told that the vehicle is designed with no rear view mirror and to rely on the wing mirrors... we had no choice but to believe them... we realised that they had just forgotten to fit the camera/ mirror in but by then it was too late... they weren't going to remedy it! But the fact that they lied to us???
After 1 evening, we started getting a leak in the main cabin from under the shower through to the front door and the kitchen sink was blocking... various calls to Maui who would not send anyone out - they insisted we take to a garage ourselves and wait around for it to be looked at. We were on a tight travelling schedule and had 2 young kids, not so easy to just drive quickly to nearest garage... When I tried to explain how inconvenient and time consuming the problem was,one of the helpline operators narkily replied "well, I'm not too pleased about a new fleet of vehicles having this problem either..." Hmmm, I was left quite speechless in the face of such bad attitude. We spent 2 days continually mopping up the water and having to do all cleaning and washing up at the campsite facilities instead of in our swanky new campervan...
Took it to a garage and coudn't get to the bottom of the problem... however, deduced that it was a badly designed overflow pipe that was leaking back into the main cabin... basically, we needed to empty out every day without fail otherwise we were in trouble...
Upon returning the vehicle, we were hurrying for an internal flight and were expecting a 2 day compensation for the inconvenience. To say that it was not forthcoming, is an understatement. The Head of Customer Services would not answer my questions directly, would not understand the urgency of our flight and said we had to wait in the office until they had tested the vehicle... They were acting as though we had made the whole thing up.
After a frustrating hour, I accepted a refund of 1 day rental but at NO time did Maui offer an apology - they accepted no blame and were absolutely dreadful and rude to deal with.
I understand that there are also problems with vehicles and breakdowns but this was a brand new vehicle, top of the range and we were the first family to take it.
It had obviously been rushed out of the workshop , not ready and not been fully tested. MAUI - NOT GOOD ENOUGH!

We (2 Adults) Hired The Motorhome From Maui Rental
WE (2 adults) hired the motorhome from Maui Rentals for 15 days, we found that as we had samsonite hard cases, there was nowhere to store them in the vehicle. We saw other families having to chain their cases to the bumpers outside at night.
The Wordrobe space for 6 people consisted of one cupboard 18ins by 3 ft.
The Aircon/heater worked well in keeping the inside cool but the heater, which worked off the mains, was very poor. Be very careful if you intend to pick the motor up in Auckland and leave it at Christchurch as a lot of people do, make sure in advance by getting Maui to confirm the instructions or else they will slap a charge of 480 dollars, which they want before you can leave in the motor.
New Zealand was everything we had hoped, The scenery was fantastic, the people very friendly, helpful and apologetic for the mixed weather.
If you get the chance take a helicopter trip with Helistars at Huka Falls Lake Taupo, the views are stunning.
I found this review very helpful because its a long way to go and find out these points.!
