Last week I rented a car with CarGest and I had no problems at all, the people who attended me were very friendly, no cheating, the car was new and the price was affordable.

Poor Car And Broken Sat Nav
Not a good experience, please see below for pros and cons but overall would not recommend.

Much Better Car Hire Companies Around Malaga Airport.
Have used numerous car hire companies around Malaga airport over the last 25 years I have been visiting. Went with Cargest as their fuel policy looked good and pricing was competitive. Arrived at airport and found greeter and minibus OK and got to Cargest a couple of minutes later. Found the counter staff very very slow and surly to say the least. Shown to the car which was old, dirty and battered (86500 km on clock)and the surly counter clerk was not interested in inspecting for any of the numerous scratches already on the vehicle, he just thrust the keys at me and went without a kind word. The vehicle was very underpowered and thirsty and had to be coaxed up the slightest of gradients. A pity the quality of their cars wasn't mentioned on their website. Would not recommend at all.

Rude And Substandard
I was given a car that was already damaged, with the casing underneath the car ripped and hanging down. Later, the gearbox failed. Cargest gave me no help on the phone, took my entire deposit and then tried to charge me for additional repairs such as changing the oil (!) Dealing with their so-called "customer service" was a nightmare - they were deliberately rude and unprofessional. Stay away at all costs.

Misleading Fuel Policy Lousy Car!!
I used Cargest once before because of the fair fuel (full/full) policy. Got a really nice car & was happy to book with them again this October, again because of the fuel policy. However when I arrived to collect the car I was told it was a quarter full and should be returned the same way. This was exactly what I was trying to avoid. I am disgusted that they advertise as having a policy which they then don't honour.
To add insult to injury the car was underpowered, heavy on fuel, the rear doors didn't always unlock, it made strange squealing noises and was dreadful.
Don't be misled by the untrue promise of a fair fuel policy. As they fail to honour the claim they make there's really nothing to recommend them. I could have got a quarter full rubbish car for a lot less than Cargest charge,,,

Clear Fuel Policy And Good Service
I took them last February and its service and car were pretty good. The price fantastic, and as I say, a 10 stars service. They were waiting for us at the airport to take us to the main office (2 minutes), and the contract and payement was clear and fast. We took the car out in 15 minutes since we land at the airport.
We hired a seat ibiza car, one week, and no problem at all with it.
About the petrol they don't charge you anything: yo pay what you use, that's the best practice I think. They give you the car full and you have to retunr it full.

Your Hire Car Is Not At The Airport
Perhaps I didn't read the info properly but I'm pretty sure I did, and there is certainly no reference to this in their confirmation email, but your hire car is not at the airport like they make out. Have told several friends to not use them in future. Dishonesty shouldn't pay!

Trustworthy, No Fuss, Price Is The Price
I would thoroughly recommend CarGest, everything you would hope for - price is the final price, after a v short shuttle bus to the office (2 mins)no queues to pick up or drop off, no need to check car for damage and they pride themselves on not ripping people off with the petrol - just return it as full as when you got it . V refreshing! They also helped out a friend of mine when she got stuck, again with no fuss and no charge, and she recommended them to me. Worth the mid-range advertised price, because they don't try and upsell once you are there will be no horrible surprises

No Hidden Extras And Full Insurance
A cut above all the "on-airport" car hire firms. Prompt courtesy bus (3 min journey), no queuing. Charges agreed when you book online, and they do not even charge for one additional driver.
Have been using them for six years without problem. For visitors who cannot be bothered to learn Spanish the staff have a good grasp of English.
