Terrible
Terrible experience with this car rental company. We paid more for a better car but received an unsafe vehicle with faulty brakes, almost causing an accident. Safety should be a priority, especially for a family with a baby. We also didn’t receive the reserved child seat and had to go back and they gave us an unsuitable one for a baby. The car was in poor condition, with a loose bumper, non-functional parking sensors, and a dirty interior.
To make matters worse, when we emailed them about these issues, they were completely unresponsive. I previously had a good experience with this company on the Canary Islands, now I rented on Tenerife, the service quality has deteriorated significantly. I will not rent from them again and cannot recommend this company to anyone anymore.

Nice Experience With Cicar.
I was recommended Cicar by a friend so I registered with them and booked a car for 2 days. I didn't pay a penny till I pick up car.
I was on holiday at Corrolejo the City office was round the corner from my Hotel.
I went in on 01/05/2024 it took just two minutes because I had registered. Pay, sign paper, show license and handed keys to a much better car than I ordered.
On return handed the keys in said no problems and hat was it. So easy. Lady in shop was very nice.

Aftercare Is Dreadful Do Not Use Cicar
Our car broke down 1am. I spent 2 hours phoning the numbers on my contract, no one answered so got a taxi home 131.55 euros. I when I called them the following morning at 7am I finished my call 9am!!! After many more phone calls they delivered another car at noon. A waste of a morning on our 4 night stay. I then spent almost every day for next three weeks asking for the taxi money. I phoned and emailed but no one ever called me back or acknowledged my email. Dreadful service. Would never use this company again. Giving it a one star is one star too many! DO NOT USE CICAR

I Rented A Car From Cicar In Tenerife For 3 Days.
I rented a car from Cicar in Tenerife for 3 days. The car was returned with a full tank of petrol. I contacted them a couple of weeks later and they claimed that the tank had been completely empty. They charged my credit card for this. Stay away from this company at all costs !

Excellent Car Hire Gc
No hassel fully comprehensive car hired for 5 days in Gran Canaria Airport. Easy Excellent service provided at the airport for both hire and return. Car was excellent medium sized automatic with low mileage,probably under 2 years old. Could not fault this car Company in any way. They were friendly and served me well. If in Gran Canaria I would not hesitate to recommend Cicar for your hire.

Warning
Hired a car, what a regret. First car very high milage, tatty and loose passenger seat, had to argue to get a replacement, which was very high milage and tatty!
They took 20 euro for the petrol, we returned it with the same amount of fuel and they will not refund us or answer our emails.

Beware: Poor Service…
BEWARE: I booked a week’s car hire, with Cicar, in Fuerteventura.
The main reason I chose to book with Cicar was their relatively positive reviews online. Unfortunately, though, my experience didn’t match the reviews.
When I went to collect the car, from the confirmed pickup location, on the confirmed date, I found their Corralejo town centre office was closed.
I searched online, and found that they had another office in Corralejo, at the ferry terminal, so I walked a mile to ferry terminal office, to see if they were open, and if they could help. The other office was open, and I was offered a vehicle there, but I received no apology about what had happened, and the only explanation I received was that “this company is crazy”. The gentleman in the Cicar office there was also quite rude to me, and he then refused to give me his name.
After this experience with them I really didn’t feel confident about giving them any more of my personal details/my bank details, and hiring a vehicle from them, so I cancelled my booking there and then, and hired a car from one of their competitors instead.
I followed up with an email to Cicar’s Head Office to complain about what had happened, but received only a completely underwhelming, extremely short, response, in which Cicar failed to acknowledge any responsibility for what had happened (not even for sending me to pick up a vehicle from an office that was closed, and is closed on the day in question, every week).

I have rent from them every winter last 20 years..As I should pick up this time one small misstake has been made in the booking : the very inpolite senor at the desk saying only "ha,ha, fullt booked, bye bye" :-(

P.S.went to next desk, Goldcar, friendly and helpfull, in 3 minutes I had a car :-)

Reliable, Battle Damaged Car
Hired a car for 2 weeks in August. Office very busy at the Airport,staff very friendly. Most cars in the parking lot looked good,sadly we got one of the few "battle damaged " ones. Had a few dents and scratches, but mechanically sound. It got us round Tenerife and up Mount Tiede no problem. So did the job we asked of it, didn't want to marry the car or have a photo with it.So the dents and scratches not a problem to us. And to be honest for the price,a sound car,NO excess charges, Its the best deal I've had in car rentals.So those who complain about a few dents,grow up. You hire a car to get you from A to B not for looks, so I would recommend and use them again
