When Is A Guarantee Not A Guarantee
When its Jet2 car hire apparently.
When we booked car hire for a holiday in Croatia the Jet2 car hire website had a "price guarantee that if we found the same hire cheaper, they would price match.
Sure enough, a week before the holiday a quick search revealed the same hire around £50 cheaper. No problem - they have a price guarantee. Claim duly sent via their website before the holiday started.
2 months later, finally get an email saying they are only agents and nothing they can do. I wish I had screen shot their "guarantee" as it since seems to have disappeared from their website.
We will never fly, holiday or hire a car from Jet2 again.

No back up service and subcontract to the worsted car companies.

Family villa booked and included 3 hire cars. Realise 2400 euro deposit is required for each car. Also jet2 have nothing to do with hire car agreement but happily take your money when booking. Do not hire a car with jet2. Most people get a fraction of the deposit back due to some small print wizardry. Beware folks

Seemed To Be Shoddy
We booked a car to collect at Venice airport flying from Leeds Bradford. The flight was slightly delayed due to a tyre replacement then had to circle round before being able to land so we were a lttle late at pickup. The firm said our car had been given to someone else (untrue) and they wanted an extra €95 for a different car. It was obvious from their demeanor that they were misleading and trying to upsell.
We argued with them for ages then they said the terms and conditions state that if you are late you forfeit the money already paid. So basically whatever we would have hired would not have been available and they would more than double the price of an alternative car. We later read through the terms and conditions and that statement was well hidden away in the T&Cs. We told them what to do with their tricks and hired a car from another company. When we complained to Jet2 their response was that their car hires are through booking.com and we are trying to
pursue them now for a refund. We have no idea which company holds the money we paid for a car we chose that didn’t exist! Avoid Jet2 car hire at all cost they totally refute any liability.

Don’t Even Try Jet2 Car Hire You Will Regret It.
From our bitter experience Jet2 Car Hire are the worst company possible to use!! They sub your booking to some bunch of sharks that absolutely rip you off, they make sure not to answer ANY attempt to contact them . Emails go unanswered, the normal Jet2 colleagues at the airport won’t have anything to do with your situation so you are left well and truly high and dry. We paid £215 weeks before and received absolutely NOTHING in return when we got to the airport and despite appealing to our payment card company the small print stitched us up completely.

Paid extra for jet2 comprehensive insurance only to be told at Malaga that if I don’t leave 800 euros deposit or take their insurance at £245 euros I can’t have the car terrible start to the holiday leaves a bad taste in your mouth the £800 euros was my spending money so only had one option .. do not use. Jet2 don’t want to help as there is another company hiding behind their name shameful any correspondence takes 28 days to reply!!!
Oh and Jet2 move your prepaid seats on the plane at the last minute without telling you nice.. you work all year round for holidays and jet2 customer care is shocking!!

I booked a car hire via jet 2 and paid extra for full insurance and extra driver for 4 days in December total £132.
On arrival they asked for a card for a deposit which was never explained to me for what purpose but I’d assumed fuel. They charged me £199, once I realised the amount I called them and they assured me it would be fully refunded as it was a holding deposit. A few days after returning the car full of fuel and damage free they returned £85 to my card which turned out to be for fuel! When I questioned the other £114 they said this was for “Smart Cover” which is different to full cover and if I hadn’t paid it they’d have charged my case £1,200 as security! I would have paid this if it was fully refundable as I’d already paid full insurance.
It’s bad to offer you very cheap car hire than trick you on arrival. Jet 2 are also culpable as they don’t advise you of this either!.

Firstly Jet2 Car Hire appears to have little to do with Jet2. It is owned by Booking.com Transport ltd who also own Rentalcars.com (another website to avoid). I rented a car through Jet2 Car Hire in Spain. The actual rental company was GOLDCAR. After returning the car (in cleaner condition than when it was collected !!) and receiving a PDF confirmation that there were no additional charges to pay, 150 euros was taken from Credit Card. I raised a complaint through Jet2 and recieved an email saying it could take 28 days to recieve a response with a link to view the case online. If I follow the link to the case online and login it shows the case as 'CLOSED'. I have tried it a couple of times and each time the same thing happens. I can even re-open the case online, I then recieve the same generic email saying they will look into with 28 days and the next day it's been closed again. No explanation.
Clearly they have no intention of following this up. The whole operation is little more than a sham.

Awful Experience at Alicante Airport with OKmobility hired through jet2.com car hire, due to credit card issue, could not hire car which is fair enough but I couldn't even get a refund from them. Staff were Rude and jet2 customer services made up some bland excuse. Simply put, Do not use this company, hire your car at your vacation resort, cheaper and fairer!
Utter Bloody Nightmare
Arrived at Gran Canaria to collect our car that I had paid for in June , with full insurance cover paid too.
We were told you're too late , it's cancelled.
I had tried to change the pick up time on the drop down numbers but it kept going back to 10am, we arrived at 7pm.
I said "I have paid for a week, this is in my time". They couldn't care less and tried to sell me the same car for almost twice that I'd already paid despite the fact that it was already mine legally.
We left and had to pay €65 to get to our accommodation and I hired a car from a local company in Maspalomas at the cost of €85 for 4 days that we could drop at the airport.
Jet 2 do not hire cars, they are a brilliant travel company but this was a massive disappointment and the only problem I have ever experienced with them.
Had I have known I would have Googled the company that they use, OK MOBILITY and would never have touched them. Their Trustpilot page has been closed, you cannot post on it but they are very much in the business of deceiving people.
