Slightly Confused But Got There In The End
Okay, booked using money saving expert website. Booking of car and insurance was easy enough but was comparing quotes on several web pages so was startled to get two acknowledgments, one from hirecars.co.uk and one from rentalcars.com.
Although they were for the same amount it was not immediately apparent that they were two of the same thing. I therefore cancelled one assuming I had double booked.
Waited until I arrived in Tenerife, it was clear there was no booking so I rung up hire cars and got virtually the same quote with the very pleasant lady offline.
My recommendation is not to send multiple booking confirmations with different/similar names ( note the excess protection was on a separate email which was fine.
Car was good albeit next time I will spend a bit more as the 1.3 fiesta struggled doing 80-90kmh going up the mountains of the island!

Horrible, Fraud Company!
This is my review for Hirecars.co.uk
I booked a car rental through your website, for 2nd October, morning 8 am pickup.
Despite my repeated requests, through their website, writing email and posting on their facebook page, the company did not provide me with the proper address of pick up location. It was a horrible experience.
The email which I received from Hirecars.co.uk says the address as "Downtown Coventry" This is insufficient information. It can not be found. Downtown Coventry is Huge. I wasted my time in searching for them.
As a result, I have missed the opportunity for which I needed the car. I was also unable to rent another car at the last minute. Hence, I need a full refund and a compensation of at least £500. for embarrassment I have faced and for wasting my time, effort and opportunity because Hirecars did not provide me the car despite taking all the money upfront.
So, dear Hirecars, I will now approach Trading Standards and other pursue a legal action against you.

on the down side I have received an invoice for one extra days hire
which I definitely took the car back in plenty of time , if this is resolved quickly then I will use this car hire firm again as I have done in the past.

A Great Customer Experience. Just What I Wanted And Got It!
The booking process was very easy. the person I dealt with at Aberdeen Airport was very efficient, quick, pleasant and a great laugh. A great start to our trip. When we returned the car we were welcomed with a smile, a quick car return inspection and wished a good flight home. A great customer experience from friendly helpful staff at every stage. I'll be back and look forward to using you again. The only slight downside was the long walk with bags and golf clubs from the terminal to the Car Hire site in the pouring rain!! However, the person I dealt with at Avis was a ray of sunshine when we picked up the car and cheered us up!

Great Car Hire
We hired a Dodge Grand Caravan for our family of 4 adults and x1 child for 18 days at Boston Logan International Airport from Budget via Hirecars.co.uk. These vehicles were in short supply, or not available, elsewhere and at prices that were 2-3 times more expensive, including hiring from Budget direct. The clincher for me was the inclusion of SLI insurance. Though Hirecars' site mentioned this, it didn't provide specfic details of the cover. I emailed their customer service and received the information I needed within a few hours - saving me £40-50. All in all a great deal for a vehicle that exceeded our expectations!
