What A Wonderful Place Little Merrymeeting Cottage
What a wonderful place Little Merrymeeting cottage was to stay. Set above a leafy lane near the pretty village of Blisland in Cornwall, Little Merrymeeting is a single-storey, split level barn conversion that really has the wow factor. The owners have made a wonderful job of the conversion, and the interior is second-to-none. It really is a superb romantic holiday cottage that just makes you want to snuggle up together! We couldn't fault anything about the cottage, and pretty much every single thing you could think of to allow you to self cater without hassle was provided for you.
The property has a washing machine, dishwasher, linen provided, TV with DVD and video player plus a separate stereo. Only completed in May this year, the fixtures and fittings are excellent. The living room / kitchen area is cosy without being at all small, with lovely patio doors leading out onto a sun-deck with patio table, chairs, sun loungers and BBQ area. The bedroom is huge with an equally huge bed. It too has its own little patio area. And the en-suite bathroom, wow that really is big - with a double ended bath and double shower.
The cottage sits in the grounds of the owners home but remains private. The driveway leading up to the property passes the owners rescue chickens (they're not noisy), three ponies and a sometimes vocal donkey called Jake! They also have two lovely Alsatians called Shadow (a boy) and Charlie (a girl). They're soft as anything and love a good fuss! The animals and dogs are fenced off from the driveway and cottage, so those not keen on animals shouldn't be concerned. The owners could not have been nicer, and they gave us a wonderful welcome after a long drive, providing us with a welcome basket with eggs from their own chickens, some biscuits, home made bread and some Cornish beer - fabulous. It really made the start of our holiday very special.
The cottage is well situated for exploring the surrounding countryside. The Camel trail is only a short walk away, and Bodmin Moor is a short drive away with wonderful scenery. St Ives, Wadebridge, Padstow, Tintagel, The Eden Project (to name but a few) are all close by. The local pub in Blisland is only a mile or so away. Two large supermarkets are within easy reach by car, so you can stock up and stay in snuggled up for your whole holiday if you want to! We wouldn't blame you if you did once you've seen this property. It really is lovely.
