Value For Money

It's What It Says On The Can

This is VALUE for MONEY!

The hostel is 200/300 meters from the Central Station in one of the most expensive cities in the world. Yes, the price may indicate a 4* or even 5 elsewhere in the world - here you are getting a central (Sentrum) pensjonat (hostel)and nothing else.

This is Oslo - these are Oslo prices get used to it. It cost me MORE for the single ticket by bus to the airport than a 4 hour flight home to Spain. If you come to Oslo understand that the word budget needs to scratched from your vocabulary. ONE stop on the tram is nearly 10 USD if you pay cash!

The location is perfect - 10 minutes stroll to the Railway/Bus Station which is the epicentre for everything in Oslo. If it's not near here in Oslo (Opera, Cathedral, Parliament etc) then the public transport goes from here. The Tourist Info/Transport Info is just outside the front of the railway station and it is a mine of information about What's On/How to Get There.

This is my second time here - the receptionist was personable and friendly and clearly knew Oslo well. The check in was professional and speedy. The room was clean and tidy. In fact the whole hostel was clean and tidy. I was actually surprised just how clean everything was in the common room on Floor 2. No, there is no lift but as a huge percentage of the people here are clearly here for adventure holidays by the look of their skis/backpacks etc these people do not need/expect lifts!! Nor does it have a spa/fitness centre - I was not expecting one. There is one at the Radisson nearby but I guess their room-rate is 10x higher (or more!). There are equally no panoramic views of Oslo BUT you are 15 minutes' walk or less from most places the tourists would want to visit. That gets my vote.

I had a good night's sleep and checked out the next morning with a reservation for my next visit to Oslo in May.
