the mercato listed as 5star should be 4 the hotel is clean the staff great but the bathrooms are bad design as the shower area has a fixed glass panel which restricts access unless the cleaners stand in the bath ?,we were in 2104 to start with then the room door fell off and we were moved to 2201 both bathrooms had considerable dead skin

build up in the shower areas,and 2201's bathroom smelt like a soil pipe was vented into it also the roof bar has no toilet's at night so one has to use the lifts to go for a pee.On the roof area at night requires lots of mozzie repellent or they eat you alive as my wife found out,beware of some promo rooms as they can be a ten minute walk away from reception,there is a golf buggy on hand to ferry you,would not go back to this hotel but would go to Egypt again people are lovely

Booked a weeks stay at this hotel, on an all inclusive basis. Reviews looked very good and were expecting a nice hotel.

This is in no way a five star hotel, more a 3 star, 4 at the most. The staff even say that is it not a five star hotel, so why is it advertised as one?!

Positives:

Nice pool areas, two heated pools and another 2 unheated

Staff mostly friendly - cleaner was excepional

Friendly and helpful bar staff, always keep area clean

Negatives

Food boring, same dishes each day. The evening dishes are then reheated for lunch the next day

Lots of Russian guests, who are very rude

Strong smell of sewage throughout hotel

Some of the reception staff are rude

Room looks 'tired' and bathroom in particular could do with upgrading - grouting was coming off the wall, and the sink had holes in it, which had been filled several times

Entertainment is lacking, same every night

Hotel has no atmosphere

Promo rooms all overlook the Mall and can be very noisy

Area around the hotel is rundown

You get what you pay for - so the more you tip, the better service you get from staff, which does not seem very fair

Overall, would not recommend. There are much nicer hotels in the area to choose from.
