My Husband And I Have Just Come Back (8 March 08)

My husband and I have just come back (8 March 08) from 2 weeks (honeymoon) at this lovely hotel and it came highly recommended through our travel agents (2Js Travel- thank you) and a couple who came on their honeymoon in June 2007 who gave us a few tips beforehand. After a12hr flight and a 50min transfer to the hotel, we were greeted by the Head Receptionist with a Mauritian smile, cool face towel and a tropical cocktail - very nice personal touch! We were then advised of the hotel's facilities and shown to our room where we were greeted with a bottle of bubbly and a plate of fresh fruit. After leaving the UK with five degrees Celsius and arriving in 30 degrees Celsius it was an extremely 'warm' welcome! The views from your hotel rooms are to die for...tropical palm trees overlooking a beautiful blue lagoon. Rooms were very comfortable and cleaned daily with fresh bed linen, towels and beach towels daily - you don't always get this in a 4/5 star resort! I think the star rating for this hotel is below par - it should be rated at least a 4 if only for the service from the staff and the cleanliness of the hotel!

My husband and I would not hesitate to go back to Le Tropical Hotel and in fact plan to go back for an anniversary holiday quite soon!

Hotel Taxis Rather Expensive, And If You Walk To T

Hotel taxis rather expensive, and if you walk to the road and take one outside they are much cheaper.

Buses work well once you work out the system.

Having said this we had a wonderful holiday and would love to go back again.

Have Just Come Back From A Wonderful 12 Nights In

Have just come back from a wonderful 12 nights in Mauritius, at the Tropical Hotel. We were a little concerned after a few negative online reviews however these are completely unjustified in our case. This little gem of a hotel is well kept with very friendly staff who made our stay so enjoyable, the food was excellent also. The rooms although small were kept exceptionally clean, and were very comfy, with great sea views. If you are looking for a charming small hotel with great service, this is for you, if you want a large bustling hotel with lots of noise and spa's I suggest you pay more and go elsewhere! Le tropical is definitely the small hotel with the big heart. We plan to go back again.

I Must Admit Having Read Some Reviews About The Tr

I must admit having read some reviews about the Tropical Hotel in Mauritius I was nervous to say the least before arriving there on our honeymoon.

Those fears were allayed as soon as we got there, by staff who just could not do enough for us. The bedrooms weren't great, but they were functional and kept to a high standard.

The food was awesome, and we were actually moaning about putting on weight (in a light hearted way). The menu was varied and there was always a good selection.

The entertainment was fine. We wanted somewhere quiet and Le Tropical seems to have got that just right, as it was a very very chilled out place to stay.

Everyone was friendly, and all of the guests got on, which was great.

Mauritius is certainly a beautiful place and somewhere that we certainly wouldn't hesitate to go back to.

We've already told the staff there to expect us back on our 5th anniversary.

All in all, it was a fantastic honeymoon.

The Tropical Hotel In Mauritius Surpassed Our Expe

The tropical hotel in Mauritius surpassed our expectations in almost every way. We had read some rather negative reviews, so we were a little anxious, but immediately upon arrival we were made extremely welcome. It is a little gem, perfectly situated with a beautiful clean pool by the bar. The all-inclusive service is exceptional(definitely recommended)! The food is excellent, and we found it very healthy, despite eating 3-4 course meals 3 times a day, we did not put on weight! It is quite different from, say the British diet, but with lots of fruit and salads. The rooms are a bit chalet-like, and they all have a balcony looking straight out onto the bay. Some of the furnishings are not top notch, but the beds are big and comfortable. The shower is a bit basic, and the tiling in the bathrooms a bit primitive, but everything is kept spotless! You don't spend much time in the bedroom really anyway.

There are no dances and discos at the hotel, and not much in the area, so people who come for that sort of thing should look elsewhere. The room telephone is very expensive, and they charge whether the call answers or not, which is the only negative comment I have, but the manager assures me that they will be changing the system.

We had the time of our lives!

I Chose To Stay At The Tropical Hotel, Mauritius D

I chose to stay at the Tropical Hotel, Mauritius due to its proximity to the island of 'Il aux cerfs'. The bedrooms were a BIG disappointment. They were however clean and the bedlinen was changed daily. The rooms were well positioned facing the sea. Photos of the hotel are shown with good looking sand. What sand there was, was course, and there was a lot of seaweed. Despite these faults, our stay was most enjoyable. It is a small hotel, but despite its size, entertainment was put on every night. The hotel guests were quite and there were no children. The staff were super. There are many places in the world that I still want to see, but I am very tempted to return to this hotel despite its failures.
