Sunny Beach, Hotel Pomorie

ON ARRIVING AT THE HOTEL, AFTER READING SOME REVIEWS IT WAS IMMEDIATELY CLEAR THAT EVERY COMMENT WAS ABSOLUTELY CORRECT.UNFORTUNATELY I LEFT MY TRAVEL BAG ON THE BUS BUT NOONE IN THE HOTEL APPARENTLY SPOKE ANY ENGLISH SO I HAD TO GO CHASING THE BUS IN A TAXI WHEN MY WIFE AND TWO YOUNG GIRLS HAD TO SIT IN THE LOBBY.THE BAR WAS OPEN BUT COULDNT GET ANY DRINKS ASWE HAD NOT YET CHECKED IN.

BREAKFAST... THE ONLY THING MY KIDS COULD STOMACH WAS EGGY BREAD AND BEANS WHICH WAS OBVIOUSLY SEVRED OUT THE NIGHT BEFORE AS IT WAS STONE COLD.

LUNCH.... ERM.... ERM.....OH YES PIG SWILL

DINNER... DITTO EXCEPT COLD MACDONALDS CHIPS.

MOVING ON BECASUE I AM GETTING QUITE NAUTIOUS JUST THINKING ABOUT IT

NONE OF THE STAFF WERE HELPFUL AT ALL AND AT TIMES QUITE IGNORANT.

THE KIDS ENTERTAINMENT WAS NONE EXISTANT EXCEPT THE ANIMATION STAFF AROUND THE POOL WHO PLAYED THE SAME 4 GAMES EVERY SINGLE DAY FOR 2 WEEKS.

ASK FOR A POOL VIEW BECAUSE THE NIGHT CLUB ACCROSS THE ROAD IS VERY LOUD AND GOES ON UNTIL 5 AM THEN THE SYNCHRONISED SWIMMING COMPETITION STARTS WITH EVERYONE CLAIMING LOUNGERS FOR DAYS ON END.

guys in summary dont go all inclusive its just not worth it as you wont be able to eat anything.there is however a bar accross the road called the landsdowne which makes everyone feel welcome, the staff are great and the prices are very cheap because you will end up eating there.

Keep away from the Hotel & Balkan Holidays!

We went to the Hotel Pomerie in late September & treated like second class citizens! They couldn't find our bookings so made us wait in the lobby for over an hour. Watch out as other couples had their passports held until they paid for phone calls they didn't make! Only half the trips were on, on the last day - drinks were not available, beds not made available until 11am. If you have young children then the lobby is the only place to go at night which has a low ceiling and no ventilation - so get ready to be choked with other peoples smoke. When the restaurant states "respect the bread" you know that things could be better - food choice was poor, sometimes cold and like most other people we started to eat out as some was inedible. One guest brought some meat down for a local dog but even that refused it! If you expect a useful Balkan holidays rep in a Balkan holidays hotel then you like us would be mistaken as he was hardly around, the one on the bus said "hello" & that's it - no description about Bulgaria or where you are staying or even how long to get there. There were apparantly 2 Reps at the airport but must have hidden well as ourselves and six other families didn't see them! Don't bother complaining to Balkan holidays as they state that everything in their eyes is fine - so I'm going to ABTA and write bad reviews if anyone would like to join myself in complaining then please leave a message.

today we returned after booking a last minute weeks holiday here. the hotel is a basic value for money hotel. the room was clean and visited by the maid daily. the food is bulgarian so do not complain if the food is not for you. every meal a wide selection of cold meats and cheeses.a varied selection of rice pasta or potatoes always salads fruit and vegetables as well as cakes and icecreams. it was the last week of the season so no entertainment here or out of the hotel.the one thing we did not like was the free tea or coffee as it was always served in small plastic cups and only at limited times.we realise sunny beach is very much geared up for the younger age groups not us more mature people.thank goodness we were not involved in the numerous disco noises that this hotel is so near too. bulgaria is a lovely destination with gorgeous beaches with blue flags and lifeguards. i would like to think we will visit bulgaria again but to different towns we visited.people that boarded our coach home were well pleased with the locations they found themselves in. we went for a carefree week and this is just what we got. it is so cheap to eat out in bulgaria i would consider b&b.

I have just returned from the hotel Pomorie in Bulgaria, before going I rad some of you reviews. I must admit to feeling apprehensive about this hotel, on my arival at the pomorie I was pleasantly surprised, our towels and bedding were changed at least once a day our cleaner was excellent and very trustworthy, we booked o a b/b basis and found no problem with the breakfast, it was a typical Bulgarian breakfast still very enjoyable and filling. The staff in both the hotel and the Garfield bar were friendly,helpful and very informative even teaching me a little of their language. I came to the decision that there had to be two hotels of this name and we had booked into the better one, by the way sorry couldnt find the worse one, go and make your own mind up, GREAT HOTEL for the price.

Why do people go out of their way to make up stories and criticise this hotel, basically because they didn*t like the food? I was a bit apprehensive when I read about break ins and robberies but I can assure anyone reading this that my camera and mobile phone lay in full view for almost 14 days and were never moved or even touched. Secondly, why do those who want a quiet break go to Sunny Beach on holiday? Surely holidaymakers looking for peace and quiet would be better off going to the Scottish highlands!! Lastly I genuinely believe that most of the complaints come from some who book all inclusive and then realise how cheap it is to eat and drink away from this hotel. I watched people struggling to walk 100 yards with their 2 halfs of lager(free of course) when they could leave the Pomerie(YES YOU ARE ALLOWED TO) and have a lovely meal for 3 or 4 pounds and washed down with a lovely pint of lager for less than forty pence. I have the honest opinion that a lot of the bad reviews and complaints come from visitors who regret having payed all inclusive and then realise if they leave the hotel for any period of time it is going to cost them. So what do they do? Sit at the hotel and find faults. Of course the food overall may not be the same as back home but is that what we actually go on holiday for?

well going in this place is a beautiful experience that you would treasure.

nice place ,basic but you get what you pay for..and tipping the locals for their services ie, porters cleaners, is a good way of avoiding arrogance this is a poor country and a little money goes a long way.

Just returned from The Pomorie Hotel Sunny Beach, dont eat there the food is awful, same slops every night, the stainless steel containers that the food is served in were not cleaned all week, no cups for hot drinks, had to use plastic see through beakers, most guests bought their own. Flies and birds flying around the restaurant. Fortunately there are some very nice bars and restaurants locally, and very cheap.

OMG the sunny beach, hotel pomorie is vile, the food is worse than pigs swill,,music till 6 am every night,things going missing in our room, people trying to getinto our room at 3.30am miserable bulgarians, staff rude, dont go there its a waste of money and as for all inclusive it dont exists they wont allow you anything, rude nasty people, save your money go to blackpool its much cheaper and safer, be careful of the gypsys selling fruit as well they thieve off you as i wish i had taken notice of the reviews

Hotel PomorieWe had a good time however I was not impressed with the hotel all inclusive selection of food as it was never different and very oily.The hotel staff expecially the sports entertainers were pleasent but bar staff left a alot to desired. In my opinion I would not return to this hotel again due to the costs of the holiday it just wasnt value for money. We found ourselves eating out everyday so the all inclusive wrist band was pointless to us. There is very limited selection on free achol as well with mostly being just vodka that was drinkable. The larger was okay but given in half glasses so was a constant wait to get a drink. I was say the cleanleness was very good though clean towel, beds made and changed everyday plus the fact they do come around 11 o clock was a bonus after a heavy night. The resort of sunny beach was plesent night life was okay Orange was the best night club. However I do believe if it wasnt for the people I went with due to all the things that went wrong food, bad weather, no smiles from Bulgarians, taxis prices, no air con anywhere my list is endless it would of been a complete waste of time and one big FLOP of a holiday. But big up the girls.
