Ascos Coral Beach

Ascos coral bay, loveley area, but the hotel is poor, the dress code for men in the evening resturants is stupid, women seem to dress as they wish, men must wear long trousers and propper shoes, not good sandals etc.

The staff are mostly brilliant around the bars, but resturant staff never smile. the food is ok, but not good, the rooms are dated and lacking in facilities, tea and coffee not replaced for days sometimes, aor the water.

The all inclusive stops at midnight, a bit too early really, and the entertainment is really poor, it drove us out from day 1, we went to anywhere but the hotel, shakey shakey and bingo bango bongo everynight, a parrot show and a few entertainers now and then aparantly? but just about everyone complained about it.

we went there in march and they really have changed it for the worse since then. we were dancing and enjoying ourselves until 0100 in march, but now everyone is in bed at midnight? unless you are retired and want a quiet holiday, dont bother with this place.

on a sliding scale of 1-10 1 being poor, i would give it a 2, poor.

Relaxing atmosphere, meals great and friendly staff at the Ascos Coral Beach. A little tired looking, could do with a make over in places. We visited the hotel sept 2007 and had a wonderful holiday and are planning to go again this year

Food was excellent with plenty of choices. staff were very friendly, hotel kept very clean. Anyone who wants a relaxing holiday should try this hotel, we will return here, good value for money. Entertainment could be better, at times very loud. Outside pool was too cold BUT it was March.!!!

Very pleased with the 'all inclusive' service. Staff very helpful, food good, pleasant hotel. We had a great holiday.

Overall we had a great week - good food - plenty to drink - met mostly adult English people all who seemed to share a similar view to that of our own.

If you do not want disco music banging away all day and night. No kids screaming and shouting, pleasant surroundings, all you can eat and drink, sun and chill out - then give it a try!

I have just returned from this hotel after spending a week there. I would just like to say that me and my partner were extremely disappointed with the hotel and its service. The entertainment was absolutely awful, staff were unfriendly and it felt like I was putting them out by asking for anything.

After swimming in the pool we returned to our sunbeds to find our sunglasses had been stolen and worst was yet to come.

We returned to our hotel room after a day out and got ready for the evening and went to the locked fridge (in which I kept the key in my wallet) and we had a shock to find that a large sum of money had been stolen. Our rep was not at the hotel so we had to ring the local rep resort office, who immediately rang the hotel manager to inform him of our money gone missing. This rep then advised us to go to the police station at the old town after an hour. We arrived at the old town police station only to find that the information was not passed on to us that we needed our passports in order to make a report. The manager advised us that this had not happened before in the 12 years his staff had been working, and we have now learnt on this website that it has happened before, so we would like to warn people that it can happen, so be careful.

I felt it was necessary to add an updated comment to the Ascos Beach Hotel. I have arrived back home and in just one day I want to be back there, it was a cracking holiday, very clean, lovely staff, pleasant surroundings, it was such a relaxing holiday. There was day time and evening entertainers provided by the Thomas Cook team, they made sure the guests were having a good time, lots of day time activities were available if you wanted to get involved, the team never bothered or pestered you into talking part, which I found refreshing. They were good but not brilliant but could not fault their enthusiasm for the job as they had the interests of the guests at heart.

If you haven't been, I assure you you'd love it, we are planning on a date for our next stay.

Ascos Coral Beach - I seem to have become a regular visitor to the Ascos and every time I return I meet more people who do the same. It says a lot about the hotel that people do want to come back year after year.

The Ascos is located in well laid out and fairly secluded grounds, a couple of hundred yards off the Coral Bay road. It was designed as an all-inclusive hotel and works very well.

The hotel is kept very clean with room service daily, changing towels, bed linen, etc. Food is plentiful and varied with snacks available outside normal times. There's usually something for most tastes and the chef also puts on some local specialities, like Kleftiko, Stifado, etc., once or twice a week. Be warned, you can put on pounds.....

The daytime bar service is at the pool bar which is run by Andreas who knows his job thoroughly. Try his Brandy Sours - in my view the best in Cyprus. The pool area itself is superb. A very large freeform pool and one of the best I've seen at any hotel. There's a good supply of loungers and parasols.

Staff are very friendly and always have a smile if you talk to them. Entertainment this year was first class with the team working very hard and providing excellent activities during the day and a very professional show in the evenings.

The hotel also now has a new management team who are constantly looking to improve service and who will actually talk to guests to get their feedback, etc. An example....when they noticed queues at the bar in the evening they installed self-service beer and wine facilities in the lounge and on the patio which proved very popular with guests as well as reducing queues to two or three people.

I'll certainly be going back to the Ascos in 2006 and hopefully for another week later this year.

I stayed at the Ascos Coral Beach in September 2004. Calls itself a 4* - definitely not! When we booked "Adults Only", we thought we would be sharing the pool with others looking for a quiet relaxing break. Instead we were met by football hoooligan types, covered in tattoos, chain smoking and making sure they got their monies worth out of the bar for their all inclusive. As for the food - do I recall one half decent meal? I think??? No, absolutely not! Although I was not ill, it was shocking. Catering for English who like chips, peas, burgers, etc., is not my idea of good food. In summary - do not go here, for your sake!

We stayed for 10 nights all inclusive at Ascos Coral Beach, the travel agent magazine rates this hotel as 4 star, I am afraid giving it a 2 star rating would be generous. Nothing and I mean nothing was good about the hotel rooms. You might as well put a cooking hob in the room and call it self-catering. The food was terrible the decore and up keep of the hotel has fallen well short and all the management and staff were rude and unhelpful.
