Poor Accommodation Badly Maintained
Paid a lot of money for poor substandard accommodation So many problems with villa dirty tatty nothing worked dangerous elements such as iron with bare flex wrapped in Sellotape cracked pool tiles cutting my daughters hand smoke alarms with no batteries in toilets blocked and flush not working many other problems all reported to villa owners and tour reps however neither had any interest and faults still there on leaving , the pool was maintained by guesswork I.e. If it looked murky sling a handful of chlorine in no chemical testing at all . a large tub of chlorine granules left poolside during stay . broken light bulbs left in pool shower area gardens overgrown more like a building site rotting fruit strewn over so called garden broken garden furniture leaking water pipes leaving muddy patches all in all a real nightmare of a place not at all as described in brochure very disappointed

Avoid Or Be Extra Vigilant
Never stayed in a villa before , but liked the idea of having our own private pool. The pool was a good size, but needing topping up every day (later discovered leaked and automatic filter pump kept tripping out) The owner's maintenance man popped in twice a week and quickly fixed it, but often the pool was unusable for a couple days each week. The place was swarming with ants inside and outside the house, so we ate out every night (not the end of the world, but it would have been nice to just to be able to eat breakfast in the villa!). The villa consisted of 3 good sized en-suite rooms, but the shower only worked in one room. It took the maintenance man 3 days to fix one of the 2 broken showers!. Now for the worst part of this 2 weeks family holiday - we were robbed on our first night in the villa. The first night went to bed about 11 pm (tired from travelling) and when we awoke next day (about 10am), found all our cash (euros) missing, which had been taken from a purse and a wallet (fortunately they didn't take our credit cards). Reported it to both Paphos and Coral Bay Police, who indicated tourists are often targeted on their first night in villas (it's usually when you have the most cash on you). The Police were friendly and recommended leaving nothing in the villa (even if it was in a safe), but to carry all your valuables (jewellery, passports, cash/cards and phones/tablets with you everywhere). Also reported the theft to the Thomas Cook Rep (based in Paphos, who didn't want to drive over to Coral Bay come and see us at the villa), but stated that the maid/cleaner would have left a window open by mistake. The maid left open a small ground floor window to the rear of the property (concealed and no outside light). The police indicated if the thief didn't get in through the window, they probably had a key! For the rest of the holiday, we mainly kept all the doors and windows shut/locked,(luckily the air-conditioning worked, but you couldn't help feeling that a thief might sneak in whilst you were dozing on the sun loungers! Coral Bay is a lovely place to visit, but I wouldn't recommend staying in Ascos Villas.

We Stayed In Ascos Villas (no.4) Through Style Hol
We stayed in Ascos Villas (no.4) through Style holidays (thomas cook) in May 2009. We had an excellent holiday. We have 2 young children 10 months and 4 years and they both loved it. The villa was very spacious, clean and the beds were relatively comfortable. All the bedrooms are air conditioned. The pool was cleaned whilst we were there and tested, however the pool was very good and to be fair didnt appear to need cleaning. The villas are to a high standard but the finish in places wasn't fantastic but I can't really grumble
The Villa is situated just off the main road about 400m walk away close enough to pop to the shop for something and far enough away not to hear the karoke at the local bars.
The resort itself is quite expensive but thats more down to the Euro than anything else, although £3 for a glass of orange juice is expensive. We hired a car and did our shopping at a biggish supermarket in kisonegra (spelling?) This we found to be much better value, had a fresh meat counter, cheese counter and bakery. We cooked a lot for ourselves in the evening and ate more out at lunch due to small children and bedtimes etc etc
The restaurants are all pretty similiar but all are good quality and the Cypriot people are very friendly.
The weather was fantastic whilst we were there so this helped greatly - if the weather had been poor not sure what we would have done though.
