Pythagorion Anthis Studios

4 of us have just come home from a very happy holiday staying at the Anthis Studios. It is owned and run by Kostas & his family, they are lovely people, very welcoming and couldn't do enough to make our stay a happy one. The Studios are surrounded by all kinds of olive & fruit trees with views of the mountains. Close to the Airport, but this isn't a problem. Situated roughly halfway between the town of Pythagorio and Mittilini Village, in a quiet area. It's approx. a 30 min walk to the town, and 25 minutes to the village. There is a well stocked supermarket close by. It takes 25 mins. to walk to the nearest beach, which is pebbles.

The Studios are basic Greek, spotlessly clean. There is a pool and pool bar, where snacks are available. The bus to Samos Town can be flagged down outside the Studios, the town is well worth a visit (half an hour to get there.)The Harbour at Pythagorio is also worth visiting. The weather was an added bonus, it was exceptionally hot all the time we were there, to hot to walk at times. We were all sad to leave, but returned home relazed and very tanned. We would not hesitate to recommend the Anthis,and hope to visit again.

We have just returned, from a hastily booked, stab in the dark , two week trip. We knew nothing of Samos, only that it was a Greek island, and we frequent Greece as much as we can, so we couldn't go far wrong. 'Couldn't go far wrong' proved the understatement of the millennium!! With the good head start of being situated on Samos, which is absolutely breathtaking in it's beauty,the Anthis offers a tantalising welcome as soon as you get there. This in our case was in the form of Costas, the proprietor. He and his wife Meni, along with thier son Adonis, thier niece and nephew, Anthous and Lefteri, and the rest of thier extended family, make you instantly feel welcome, valued, and part of the family. Very good English is spoken throughout the family. Adonis' use of the language is outstanding. He's only ten! The room is clean, inviting and most importantly, 'feels Greek'. My bed was lovely and comfortable.(A personal priority of mine, given the time I spend in there!)I was lucky enough to celebrate a birthday while out there. The enthusiasm with which my 'new family'helped my own, to celebrate the day, was deeply moving. Not least when Meni presented me with a card from them all, a cake she and the family had commissioned and a necklace she had handmade. Now that's what I call service!!! In summary, I didn't want to leave, and cannot wait to go back,maybe with other people whom I hope will appreciate it from thier own perspectives as much as I do!

We have just returned from a super 2 weeks at Anthis. The small and friendly family run property was so relaxing. costa and his family worke so hard to give us the best of everything. We shall definetly be recommending to friends. Room 5 has a huge patio area overlooking the pool and gets a lovely breeze if you bake to much by the pool. Food is basic but delicious especially costas home made chips. superb!!

I have stayed at the Anthis Apartments on 10 occasions and have never had anything less than a truly memorable and enjoyable holiday.

The family run location is comfortable, clean and relaxing. It has all the amenities that you require for a quiet 'lie by the pool and read my book' holiday. But for the more active there are many activities to undertake such as walks, jet ski hire and boating. The weather guarantees you a good tan.

The family proprieters cannot do enough for you and are one of the nicest families that you could meet, at home or abroad.

The rooms, although basic, have all you require. Remember that as a rule you only sleep there. It is not the Hilton and does not pretend to be.

I will stay at the Anthis apartments again, and again, in fact since I 'discovered' it I would not think of going anywhere else. I can't wait to go back.

we stayed at the Anthis in 2004, and found it a great base for a holiday. the family who own it are very friendly, the pool bar and food is very reasonably priced, and very good. although the rooms are basic, they were spotlessly clean, and the huge terrce outside our room more than made up for a small room. i would recommend Samos to anyone who wants a peaceful hoiliday, and who is ready to walk to get out and about.

We love Athis and will travel here many times to come, they could not be more helpful. The holidaymakers are really friendly. You can book directly with the owner for half the price just call him!!!! You really should try it. The place is lovely very relaxing and Pythagorion harbour is out of this world. Try the four seasons restaurant for quality tasty food.

I know Greece is quite basic but the Pythagorion Anthis Studios/Apartments accommodation was basic. I certainly would not recommend the Anthis apartments to anyone. We were so disappointed with Kosmar tour company we will not be traveling with them again.

We had a great time has always at the Anthis, this being our third time of going, we look forward to seeing everyone and the cats.

We will not look forward to seeing the bar staff though but it wont stop us.

Come here for a relaxing holiday. It is wonderful!

We were pleasantly surprised by these apartments in Samos after reading one of the reviews. It was spotlessly clean, and the owners were excellent. We are in our 50's, and we enjoyed the walk each evening into Pythagorion. The harbour is wonderful, with lots of lovely restaurants. Although the Anthis Apartments are on a main road, we found lots of walks off the beaten track.
