Hi,
We saw the magician guy too, but he was at another hotel along the end of the strip doing a karaoke show.
We love the Cronulla and all the fmily who run it.
They seem to have a smile and are interested in their guests. Even if they are not it shows they care about their service during a very hard working season.
Bak again for two weeks in August 2011

We Stay At The Venus In Kalamaki, Only Because We
We stay at the Venus in Kalamaki, only because we have always done so for many years and have reviewed it before. We like the Cronulla very much and have many breakfasts and snacks there which are great value. When the pool is busy at out hotel, we know we can always get space at the Cronulla pool.
Roby, her brothers and Mum and Dad are great, friendly and always happy to help with anything.
Karaoke nights are good too and last year we saw two Scots guys (one of them a very funny comedy magician who I think is resident on Zante) singing karaoke and they were the best singers we'd ever heard. Looking forward to it all again in July 2010.
The Cronulla is highly recomended.

What A Great Place, We Booked Directly In Septembe
What a great place, we booked directly in September and I have to say the whole experience was a pleasure couldn't have asked for anyone more helpful. I am glad to say that this carried on over to our stay. The rooms were clean spacious and decorated to a high standard, the bar was good value and all proper spirits, the food was probably the best that we had the whole time we were out there and the staff were all amazing. Thanks very much

Excellent - Cronulla Hotel in Kalamaki is very cheap and the staff were extremely friendly and really made you feel welcome, Pool was excellent and very clean, rooms were cleaned every other day.
Breakfast was basic(bread roll,Jam,Coffee/tea and fruit juice) but we found it more than enough.
The food available from the snack bar was excellent and ideal for lunch staff were absolutely lovely and they really made us feel at home.
Bar staff were very friendly as well and the prices were very reasonable.

After Reading Reviews About The Cronulla Hotel In
After reading reviews about the Cronulla Hotel in Kalamaki, I was looking forward to my stay there. Sadly, it wasn't as good as I was hoping for. We booked on a late deal and didn't pay much, so we weren't expecting 5 star accommodation for 3 star prices, but personally I think it only makes a 2 star. Air conditioning wasn't "commissioned" so it didn't work. Rooms were as basic as you could hope for. The kitchen area was a sink, a kettle and hot plate, put in the corner of the room. There was no TV either. The maid service was daily, but it consisted of wiping some of the floor, and clean bath towels only once in the week. We tried to get clean towels after 2 days, but this sparked off WW3 with the staff!!!
We were due to leave on the Friday morning, and our hotel booking sheet said "day of departure - Friday", but the hotel owner pushed post-it notes through our door telling us to leave on Thursday at 12 noon. When I approached him about this, his reply was "it's not my problem"... It's his hotel that I have paid to stay in until Friday, so yes it is his problem!! After an hour or so, by which time we had missed our pick-up for a day trip on a boat, and as a result lost our deposit, a rep turned up, looked at my sheet and then agreed to cover the costs for our rooms for another night. The owners attitude sucked to be honest with you!
On a positive note, the pool and bar were good, and the bar staff were very nice and friendly. I couldn't fault this part of our stay at all. Two good places to eat there are The Mermaid restaurant, and also The Promenade, where you can get top-notch food at decent prices, and it was only about £6 for a decent sized meal.
I wouldn't say that the Cronulla Hotel is a dump; just more like a basic 2 star rather than a 3 star hotel. And sadly, for me we had a run-in with the owner, which put a bit of a downer on things, and it was like getting blood out of a stone trying to get clean towels from them, so just take a couple of extras!
Would I go back to Kalamaki?... Yes!
Would I stay at the Cronulla Hotel?... Probably not!
