Blue Sea Hotel Bugibba Malta

Found this pub/bar by happy accident while staying in Malta . The bar staff were very friendly even though I was not staying at the hotel, I was made to feel welcome , and it had a very nice atmosphere. I have been going there on my past three visits to Malta . I heard lastime I was there that the hotel complex was being taken over and I hope that the bar will still be open to non residents when I come back to Malta next year as the bar staff were really lovely and I'm looking forward to seeing the same friendly faces. JUST RETURNED 29TH OF OCTOBER.(10 DAY STAY. FULL BOARD PAID & EXPECTED!)

WE ARE 2 PENSIONERS JUST RETIRED.

OVER OUR LIFETIME, WE HAVE TRAVELED A LOT!

THIS HOTEL IS TERRIBLE! WE HAVE NEVER SEEN SUCH POOR QUALITY& REPETITIVE FOOD,THE CHEAPEST AVAILABLE INGREDIENTS,NOT EVEN GOOD TO LOOK AT,LET ALONE EAT!

WE EXPECTED 2 OUTDOOR & 1 INDOOR POOLS.THERE WAS ONLY A SMALLPOOL, SO DIRTY THAT YOU RISKED YOUR HEALTH IF USEING IT,SO MURKY THAT THE STEPS COULD NOT BE SEEN! EVEN THOUGH THE WATER WAS NOT DEEP.

HAD TO PAY FOR WATER!

AIR CONDITIONING SWITCHED OFF IN RESTAURANT & RECEPTION,NOT EFFECTIVE IN ROOMS.

ONE LIFT NOT WORKING,THE OTHER FAULTY.HAD TO USE STAIRS! WE BOTH HAVE DIFFICULTY WALKING!

STAFF FRENDLY, BUT MANAGEMENT RUDE & INDIFFERENT!

MOST OF US CHOSE TO EAT OUT,RATHER THAN RISK OUR HEALTH.

DESPITE THIS MALTA IS FANTASTIC, GREAT HISTORY,INTERESTING PLACES TO VISIT & LOVELY SCENERY.

This was probably the worst holiday of my life. Malta is lovely but this hotel is dreadful. What they don't tell you is they sold the best bit last year and it's now a residential/nursing home. There is no adult pool, the rooms are cleaned every other day and your sheets are changed every 4 days. The manager has openly stated to two guests during my stay that all-inclusive guests are second class citizens!! I was shouted at on the Jack's bar terrace to "SWEAR WORD" shut up as the supposed entertainment manager was trying to do a bingo game and he had no microphone - that was hardly my fault!! There are only 3 tables on the evening bar terrace and 6 seats, the guests carry the internal bar furniture out onto the terrace themselves. Apart from the manager the staff are lovely but it can take up to 4 days to move room if the air conditioning doesn't work.The only pool - the kid's pool was so cloudy four days before I left that you couldn't see the steps or your feet while in the water. The management do not take criticism well and concerns of guests are ignored. Book this if you want a cheap holiday but be warned I have had an upset stomach since the second day. Also the restaurant and bar are not air-conditioned and the food, in my opinion, was dreadful - 10 days on chips and salad!! Good luck if you choose to go to this hotel!! 

To start off with when we booked this holiday we was told there was 3 outdoor pools which in fact there was only 2 as one of the pools had been sold off for nursing homes,which we was very disappointed as the pool was only small, also it was not cleaned very well as when my partner jumped in he was faced with clumps of hair and this was just after the pool was cleaned, it was very dirty and unhygienic, there was no pool snacks bar which was also stated and if we was to have snacks we had to go upstairs pass reception and down to the restaurant, when if in wet clothes would be very unsafe.We was also informed that there was Entertainment at this complex when in fact when we asked they had no entertainment at all and i had 3 children to keep entertained .We was situated on the 6th floor of this hotel and we asked for air conditioning as it was at least 100 degrees in the room, we was promised air conditioning on the Wednesday of our holiday but they did not deliver and i had 3 very upset children and also me and my partner so subsequently we had to sleep down by the pool which is not what we expected from our holiday. Also whilst sitting round the pool one day we heard a loud bang and when we looked up a piece of concrete fell from the balcony and fragment hit my youngest son, the managed came over apologize and that was that! Not happy with how we was treated at all.The food was also very basic and pretty much the same every day.

we did complain and got moved to San Anton there sister hotel which was much better air conditioning was delivered straight away , but still faced a few problems whilst there, there was not that much staff to keep the pool area maintained and was infested with wasps, bins was not emptied regularly and rubbish was left around making it an attraction for them. There was no ice cream for the kids for 6 days of our holiday there so instead we were having to buy them which is not what i signed up for being ALL INCLUSIVE. I will say the managed at the San Anton really did help us more than the manager at The Bugibba Hotel, overall this was a holiday from hell and we could not wait to get back home, we was so disappointed with the false advertisement when booking our holiday if we had known all of this before hand we would never have booked at that hotel, i feel i have not given my children the holiday they deserved and especially when you work hard and save for a holiday and it to end up not what you was expecting.If your a single person and not too bothered about accommodation its cheap enough.The review you read when booking this hotel is San Anton and not Bugibba Hotel.

Stayed in this hotel for 7 nights in july 2015. It was terrible. The bedding wasn't changed for 6 nights. They took the towels away to clean and didn't return them. They left our room door open when they did go into it. The food was edible but poor. The air conditioning didn't work. The bedroom and indoor pool floor were filthy. You couldn't walk in bare feet in your room. The wifi at the reception didn't work. Overall very poor and staff couldn't care.

Malta is nice the hotel is a big let dawn not as advertised. half been sold off no kids clubs / menu at tea time etc. . on working TV any ware in hotel . the swimming pool advertised has been sold off so you only have one small one. food was not very nice cold most days and no manager about. staff say they selling the rest off soon so don't book you wont get your money back .
