Macher, Villa Tranquila

We booked to stay here from 28/03/11 for 2wks and only managed 1 night, it was so awful. There was an overwhelming musty smell, even the wardrobes and drawers smelt so we couldnt unpack. The beds were small and uncomfortable, the bedding and towels old and thin. There was old food stuck down the grooves on the dining table and no curtains up at the patio windows. The settees had dirty throws over them to hide the leather which was shredded and the top layer had flaked off, the springs had gone. Outside, the pool looked dirty and there were cracked and broken tiles on the patio, the sunbeds were stained. There were no gardens as described only a tree which overhung the jacuzzi so much that we couldnt imagine sitting in it and at night the outside lights didnt work. We specifically asked the owner for a villa that was private, this villa had a road running alongside it which was no more than 6ft away from the main bedroom window. The only truthful thing the owner said about this villa was the great views.

My advice is to avoid this villa and the company who own and rent it out, they are called Luxurylanzarote.com and are based in Luton. They were completely unresponsive to our concerns and we had to find and pay again for another villa with another company. We got our refundable breakages deposit back just a few days ago and even though he said he would make a goodwill gesture, he didnt, he didnt even refund the extra we paid for the pool heating which we didnt even use!

Holidaymakers beware.
