My Husband Myself And Our 11 Year Old Grandaughter

My husband myself and our 11 year old grandaughter stayed at Paradise Island , Playa Blanca the last 2 weeks in October 2010, we had a brilliant time. The pool was lovely , the dining room was very nice and clean the food was good for a 3 star, (we have stayed in worse 5 star) the staff where very nice and helpful, to be quite honest I could not falt it for a 3 star, if people want 5 star accomodation they should stay in 5 star, you get what you pay for and as far as this hotel you got more than you payed for. Thank you for giving us a lovely holiday and see you all again next year.

By the way the Thomas Cook rep his name is Lloyd was brilliant, as we had to have priority check in for my husband as he hurt his back and it all went like clockwork thanks to him.

The only draw back is that it is so far out of the town but the free bus and taxi service helped.

I Would Like To Remind People That This Is A 3 Sta

I would like to remind people that this is a 3 star hotel - I think people are looking for 5 star quality! I have just returned August 2010 and i can say firstly to the lady with the sun cream problem - it was your choice to buy the product you were not forced by the hotel ! Secondly I never seen coachroaches in the resteraunt and it looks like over exageration that they flew on husbands knee!

Apartments were alright basic - end of day you only need for sleeping in. The food was fine good for a 3 star.

Pool great, entertainment great, in all I had a good stay and would return.

i would suggest that maybe people in future if they want 5 star quality then book 5 star accomodation.

Paradise Island By Name Only. Read Alot Of Reviews

Paradise Island by name only. Read alot of reviews before booking some bad some reasonable but our fears were founded.Apartments large clean but dated but cant remember the last time we went AI and had to pay for TV IRON AIR CON.Not even a kettle. Food was poor Pork every day bar one to include lunch and dinner.Tables dirty generally with previous diners crockery and left overs on it.We are egged out and Porked out after this weeks holiday. Was supposed to be a Birthday treat some treat.Anyone who rates this place has either already had a refund or are very easily pleased because there is nothing but negatives.Stay there at your peril spend a few euro more and get value for money.

H10 Paradise Island - The Dining Area Was Full Of

H10 Paradise Island - The dining area was full of cockroaches which i didnt rate as one landed on my husband whilst eating our lunch. There wasnt much choice of childrens meals,it was either pasta,or chips with a very rare option of chicken nuggets and pizza!! Adults meals was ok on the first week but going into the second week we were fed of eating the same food!!! The pool areas were quite nice and there was plenty of entertainment for the children day and night. If you do stay here please stay away from the suncare team, their stuff doesnt work!!!! Me my daughter and sun all burnt with his so called suncreams and the after sun was garbage too!! It cost me 56 euros for 2 sun lotions and 1 after sun, worst choice of my holiday!

If You Go To The Playa Blanca Hotel , Take Plenty

If you go to the Playa Blanca hotel , take plenty of extra holiday money to eat and drink out, we spent over '500 more than we needed to due to the food not being suitable for us.

Food was not to our taste, No beef or steak was offered at any point during our 7 night stay. Pork was cooked fresh on the griddle 1 night but then was covered in salt so all it tasted of was salt. Chicken was offered 1 night but was gone within 20 mins as most guests put 2 portions plus on their plate as this was as this best thing that was offered that week. Food had no structure in the respect that nothing went with anything else, eg ; Whole fish inc bones head on tail on etc in some sort of sauce served with creamed curried carrotts or salad or plain pasta.Reformed prawns, reformed chicken nuggets, frozen french fries even when you were first in the dining room, these were cold. We opted to eat out 4 out of 7 days of being there.

The bars only ever had 1 person serving - also, only ever one bar open at any one time - and queues would build so you could wait for over 20 mins for a drink and when you got there the beer glasses were only small, less then 1/2 a pint, you got to the point that you got a drink and joined the queue while you drinking the one you had queued for.

There were no soft drinks available at breakfast except for juices and no juices available at other meal times only soft drinks, beer and wine. There was only coffee and tea available at breakfast and no other meal times. Tea and coffee was available for self service around the pool bar until 6pm but if you wanted a hot drink after this time, join the queue along with everyone else who were also waiting, you could be there some time!

You would never guess that the "heated" swimming pool was heated as it was no warmer than any of the others which were all freezing - disappointing for a young child who wanted to enjoy the water.

I would sum this up as spend your money on a better hotel before you go to avoid disappointment and a least you will stand a chance of a good holiday.
