Myself And My Family Recently Stayed Here While On
Myself and my family recently stayed here while on holiday from Scotland. We booked the family room which Unfortunatly didn't have a sea view but was very tidy, the ensuite was lovely and the children had plenty of space to play. Our room had everything we needed and even more refreshments were topped up once ran out. The breakfast was great and they catered for my wifes dietary needs with out any problems. Out stay was very enjoyable.
Thank you Andrea for your help pointing us towards all the must see attractions in st ives it made our stay.
See you next time
Mr Peters and family

I Have Just Got Back Form My Holiday At The Carlyo
I have just got back form my holiday at The Carlyon in St Ives.
All I can say is what a lovely time I have had! Stunning views
from my room and at breakfast.Great location lovely rooms.
The owner Andrea was away at the time but Tim was at hand!
The extra mile from Tim is what made my stay so exceptional.
I enjoy coastal walks and Tim all ways advised me on the best
rout. Not only is he a fantastic host he is a brilliant cook!
(Your mum should be very proud!)
The best breakfast menu had salmon and scrambled eggs and all sorts
but the full English is the belly buster. Yummy
This was my first visit to St Ives i would recommend the Tate Gallery,
The Barbara Hepworth Museum and The Balancing Eel for fish and chips.
To Andrea to Tim
Thanks for a brilliant stay

I Stayed Here For 5 Days, Im A Single Man And Find
I stayed here for 5 days, Im a single man and find I difficult to book rooms as it's just me, the carlyon was fantastic they had a single room for 1 and I had the most breath taking views of the beach and sea. The room it's self was small but big enough for 1. The room had everything one would require including a small table and chair in the bay window so you can sit with a cuppa and just soak up the view. The rest of the guest was good. Tidy and breakfast was incredible, the owner had a breakfast award proudly displayed and I understand why.
I had a very warm and pleasant stay here and would recommend as service and views made my stay special.

Just left The Carlyon Guest house after spend 8 glorious days in St Ives
with my wife. This was the first time we stayed here but it certainly wont
be the last. The owners are fantastic and you can see they thrive off of pleasing there guests. We had room 3 a small room but stunning views. The road outside is not a sleeping issue as the room feels like being back in our house.
The location in comparison to the beach and town centre, well you just couldn't get any closer.
The best part of my stay was breakfast!!!
Andrea you cook a mean fry up and my wife loved the salmon!!!
The menu is fantastic and and table service is great 10/10
Your guaranteed our bookings in the future will be with you!!!!!!!

I Was Shocked To Read The Negatvie Reviews Of The
I was shocked to read the negatvie reviews of the Carlyon guesthouse. Please do not pay attention to them if you're considering staying here - i'm very glad that we didn't.
The people who own the guesthouse are lovely. They met us on arrival and showed us to our room and were more than willing to help us however they could. The breakfasts were brilliant, so much choice - full english, continental, vegetarian, smoked salmon with scrambled egg and toast and cereal with all meals. Brilliant value for money.
The house was completely clean throughout and the room we had was the smallest in the house as far as I am aware and it was still totally sufficient, despite the size. The view from the room was beautiful. People who say this guesthouse is not good value for money should check the prices of other hotels/guesthouses especially those with sea views - this one was cheaper than any we could find.
The location is perfect - 2 minutes walk from the beach and town. We had a fantastic week and I completely recommend this guesthouse to anyone looking for cheaper accommodation in a brilliant location in St. Ives.

I Recently Stayed At The Carlyon Guest House And I
I recently stayed at the Carlyon Guest House and I would like to say the owners were lovely. They were very friendly and chatty with us. The breakfast was fab, we enjoyed the full english but there was a varied selection to choose from. The room was small but adequate and our stay was very comfortable and good value for money. It was cleaned everyday and fresh towels were provided. The Guest House is centrally located and close to all amenities and has lovely view across Porthminster Beach. I have already recommended the Carlyon Guest House to my friend as I know she will have a brilliant stay there. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Just Returned From A Fantastic Stay At The Carlyon
Just returned from a fantastic stay at the Carlyon Guest house in St Ives. We stayed in room 4 with fantastic sea views, room very comfortable, breakfasts out of this world & such a lovely landlady who catered for our every need. On arrival our bags were taken to our rooms while we relaxed on the beach for a hour, which is situated 2 minutes walk from the Carlyon.I have read other reviews & could not believe them as during our stay we encountered none of the problems reported, and have already booked to return to the same room next year. Great value for money & the Carlyon is well situated for a short stroll into town where there are many pubs, restaurants & shops.

This Was Vey Disappointing. There Was No Hot Water
This was vey disappointing. There was no hot water to wash or shower, which the owner knew but chose not to tell us when we checked in. The carpets were dirty throughout. The bed was rock hard and squeaked which meant we couldn't sleep. The room was very warm: we had to sleep with windows open and had to listen to noisy drains all night. The breakfast was incredibly poor: cheap, stingy and badly presented. We stayed in a fabulous guest house for the same price per night (£75) and can't believe the difference in quality. These owners need to check out their excellent competition.

On Arrival Nobody To Welcome Us, Had To Ring Mobil
On arrival nobody to welcome us, had to ring mobile number which cost us money, A male appeared who said it is not his job but showed us to a small unclean, undecorated room with furniture falling to bits, wires and pipes showing and a mucky bed base. In the en suite walls were cracked and you could'nt turn the taps on as all the tap turned round. The kitchen where they cook was filthy. I honestly believe this guest house is unsafe and needs checking over before there is a serious accident. I will be takeing this further.
owner comment
The room is totally refurbished with laminate flooring!!!The water boiler broke down (something which is NOT in our control)!! and was replaced the next working day!The matress is memory foam and a quality bed!!! Have no idea what is meant about the drains and have received an award for breakfasts - also have a guest book full of compliments for this.
We offer a large choice including smoked salmon and scrambled eggs and have an award for great breakfast!!!! We are constantly full with VERY SATISFIED many returning customers.
