York, Guy Fawkes Inn

The Guy Fawkes Inn is a step back in time, with gas lamps, open fire places and candlelight and that's before you even get to your room! My husband and I stayed in the Deluxe Double. It had a roll top bath & a walk in power shower. The bed was very comfortable. The bedroom furniture was in keeping with the building. There were fresh towels each day, plenty of tea ( including fruit & green teas) coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits. There was a hair dryer in the room and hair straighteners were available had i needed them, as was an iron.

The staff were amazing nothing was too much trouble. Our bags were carried to our room for us and we were able to store our bag at the hotel after checkout whilst we enjoyed some more sight seeing.

The food was first class! Even if you don't stay at the hotel you should at least eat there! The food is beautiful. My husband loves black pudding and he says he's never tasted any better than the one he had at the Guy Fawkes, which is made on site. The evening meal was also beautiful, a really large portion and well worth the price.

I could be here all evening writing about the Guy Fawkes Inn but I'll just say, go and stay because you won't regret it!

We are now planning a return trip to York and the Guy Fawkes Inn, and we can't wait!
