The Lodge, Kenmare

We were highly disappointed with this often-recommended B&B. The service, friendliness, and comfort was sadly non-existent. This was supposed to be a luxury B&B according to our travel agent, and it was anything but. Room was dark, depressing, with a terrible bed and mattress. (It was SUPPOSED to be a King bed but was not). The place was half empty, but we were not given a choice of rooms. The owner was never there, and the manager there only in the mornings. She basically ignored us. Breakfast was adequate, but least impressive of any place we stayed in Ireland. I mean, ONE puny egg with a full Irish breakfast? Really??

There are some terrific places to stay in Kenmare. This is not one of them. Don't say you haven't been warned.
