Never Again

Having rush booked this hotel mainly for location,i later read reviews and was dismayed but hopeful we mighr be lucky but unfortunately we weren't!

On arrival we saw a builders skip full of rubble outside the window and "hotel" exterior was drab and untidy generally. The door was answered by a young male receptionist possibly even a student, who on his own admission did not speak very good English.I asked where we could park our car and was directed to a street "one to two minutes walk away" which was allegedly free parking. This turned out untrue as everywhere was metered but we did find a street about 5 minutes walk which was free.

Our room was in the basement which was very cool though this was a blessing as it wad a warm day. However we did have a late night reveller urinating outside our window at 1am!!

Work was still clearly in progress as an adjacent corridor to our room was full of dust, paint and workmens tools!

Then worst of all we had no hot water from the tap or the shower though the bathroom had been refurbed and was actually very nice....oh apart from stains on the wall tiles and some splatters of blood!!!

I did report the hot water problem on check out but actually felt sorry for the young guy who had to carry the can for the owners shortcomings.

To make matters worse i had a poor nights sleep as the noise from the bar right opposite lasted until around 3:30 compounding the traffic noise.

If i'd paid £20 for this room i'd have been brassed off but having paid £51 up front on a no refund basis,i felt well and truly ripped off.....never again
