I Visted My Parent For The Day, Who Were Staying A

I visted my parent for the day, who were staying at the Days Inn Atlantic City for the week. My parents did right by the hotel and paid the $20 fee to allow me in the room, and paid $20 for an additional parking pass so I could valet my car in a safe place. BIG MISTAKE! I arrived in AC at 7:30AM and was immediately annoyed with the Valet as they argued with my mother and I over the parking availability and only 1 car was allowed per room! We finally alleviated this issue after involving the Manager John, who looked like he was on drugs! My parents and I then had a fabulous day, walking the boards and sitting on the beach. At about 2PM a thunderstorm rolled in and we quickly left the beach. We returned to the hotel and I noticed my car was safe in a back parking lot, or so I thought! We relaxed in the room for a while and took showers for dinner. At 4PM the rain stopped so we stepped out on our balcony and 2 ladies 2 balconies down informed us that the street was flooded from the storm! Also the front lobby was flooded and the Elevators were broken! We were NEVER notified by anyone at the Hotel. I found this to be unacceptable and I quickly ran down the steps to check the status of both my parents car and my car. I notcied right away that my car was no longer "safely" in the back parkinglot which was now flooded above the tires of the cars still left there! I asked both Valets and the front desk managers who were all too busy tending to their flooded lobby. I was assured my car was safe and was not flooded. It was moved in time. I enjoyed a fabulous dinner at the Palm in the Trop, and returned to the hotel at 8:30PM and asked the Vallet to please grab my car. I had to return home to Philadelphia so I could go to work the following morning. The Vallet drove my car from the second floor parking garage, got out of the car and handed me my keys. As I was handing him a tip I noticed his pants were wet above his ankles and my mother started to scream! MY CAR HAD 4 INCHES OF WATER IN IT! The Days Inn left 4 inches of water in my car for 4-6 hours!!!!!! They denied any wrongdoing, and even denied that any flooding had occured! They told me it must have been in the car when I drove to them! I luckily had taken pictures so they then changed their tune... BUT, it took them 45 minutes to find a shop vac to get the water out of the car! It took 2 hours for me to get the water vaccumed out of my car. My parents refused to stay another second in their hotel. The Manager John was VERY argumentative and unhelpful! They would only reimburse my parents for time they had yet to spend!!!!!! I tried calling Days Inn Corporate and after 7 days finally got contact info for the owner of the Hotel. Days Inns are a franchise so we had to speak with the owner. We called the contact info provided and reached the Manager John who again gave us a hard time. Bottom line, my car was flooded at the Days Inn Atlantic City, I was never notified that my car was flooded, and the Hotel did NOTHING to resolve it or remove the water. The Days Inn was completely and totally negligent and treated my family and I like we were dirt. I warn anyone who is looking for a nice family or romantic vacation to stay far away from this place! DONT STAY HERE! So many other great places to stay!User Rating
