Having Been To Barbados Several Times, We Wanted A
Having been to Barbados several times, we wanted a hotel that could cater for our 12 year old son. The Almond Casuarina seemed child-friendly, and having a teen club we decided to book an Ocean View room with Tropical Sky, Almond Resorts official booking agent. When we arrived at the hotel we were placed in a suite furthest from the Ocean as children are not allowed in the Ocean View rooms!! We were given different reasons for this, but it seems the balconies are too unsafe. We were finally moved to another room, with a promise of a refund. Tropical Sky have refunded the £9 a night difference between the room we booked and the room we had to take, plus a voucher for a future stay. No refund in recognition of the mis-selling/over-selling & the stress/inconvenience we experienced.
Child-friendly?? The main pool has a sign not allowing children under 16 - thankfully this ridiculous rule was ignored by all. Kitchen staff spoke of recent employee deaths possibly linked to lack of kitchen ventilation.
Restaurants were very average, & after enduring 4 nights dining in the hotel, we ate out at local restaurants for the remaining nights.
Sound too stressful for me

Beidgetown, Almond Casuarina Beach Resort - Good food, friendly staff, Nice clean rooms, Getting drinks is a bit slow in the evening could leave the pool bar open longer.
I went on a solo holiday to this resort.i found once I had gotten used to the routine I had no problems.room was good,food good,staff friendly and helpful,i didn,t expect too much and I was satisfied with every thing.Iwent out of resort on day trips,catamaran up the coast,feed the turtles,a submarine trip down to the reef,all sorts,thoroughly enjoyable and no complaints.Ihave a level of satisfaction where I am happy,this break made me happy,i recommend giving it a try.
