Varadero, Barcelo Solymar Hotel

having been miss sold this hotel by thompson first choice ,me my wife and teenage daughter were looking forward to once a year holiday having paid £4000 we arrived at this hotel after a 9 hour flight ,the hotel lobby had no air condition we had to wait an hour after being told by a very rude receptionist that the room is not ready,these things happen.after one hour we were given the room pass but were given no directions when I asked were this room was she tooted and pointed in a upward direction as if I should of known,out of 5 lifts only one was working after a ten minute wait for the lift we finally got to our room having entered the room we were hit with a terrible smell this was not your normal air conditioning smell that you normally get but a dirty musty smell ,having checked out some of the room facilities i found out that when turning on the shower the water was not emptying due to the plug hole being blocked with human hair and scum the toilet floor was black around the wc due to staining the wardrobe mirrors were cracked the safe was broke and would not lock the handles for the shower system were loose and could see through the inner wall the electrical sockets were all loose but we were still trying to locate this dirty disgusting smell ,I pulled back the sheets to expose the the mattress and to my horror urine stains vomit stains and mould around the rim of the mattress ,having went back to reception we were given another room this was in exactly the same condition urine the works, back to reception another room and yes exactly the same has every room in this hotel come with urine stains back to reception demanded to be moved to another hotel or next available flight home, holiday rep tried her best but no other hotels available till next day we had to stay a night here ,we discovered that this hotel is a 18-30s hotel for canadians and russians ,at 0400hrs that morning we were awakened by drunken louts shouting and laughing in the corridor ,later that morning when it was daylight we were looking out of the balcony at the swimming pool and noticed the pool water was green with a algae on the pool floor. we were eventually moved to a hotel that was a 5 star,thompson/firstchoice should not be advertising this hotel due to health reasons and should immediately remove this hotel out of its brochures ,I hope thompson/firstchoice have the back bone to show this review as to not let other families being let down thankyou
