A good choice for short breaks; comfortable and reasonably convenient.

Chalet Ophelia is a short walk from the middle of Meribel Centre. The ski hire shop offer free storage of boots and skis for Flexiski clients so getting in and out was relatively easy apart from the slippery conditions.

The chalet is purpose built and the ensuite rooms are a reasonable size for the French Alps. The communal area is comfortable and focused around an open fire. There is separate TV area although we never used it and most guests seemed to opt to sit in the living area too. The whole chalet was warm as were the hot tubs. You could take evening drinks into the tubs, as long as you used the plastic glasses provided, which added a decadent touch

There is a good complement of staff with a manager, two chalet staff and a cook. When we were there there were a maximum of ten guests. When the chalet is full at twenty six guests the level of attention may not feel as high.They cope well with the regular turnover of guests although day to day room cleaning could have had a great attention to detail. They were flexible and helpful on our arrival and departure days.

The food and drink service were of a high standard. Breakfast was good with a range of hot options to complement the continental breakfast.

Afternoon tea was a cake or biscuits/flapjacks etc. Probably a good thing there was no bread as the potions at other meals were generous. When it was individual items there weren't always enough to allow for other guests having there seconds early.

Canapés and sparkling wine (or beer) are served from 7:30 with a three course dinner at 8:00. The menus were interesting and could be adapted to meet dietary requirements.

They confirmed a booking, took our deposit, and then contacted us 6 hours later to say the chalet was no longer available.They blamed it on fast moving bookings ahead of half term. Poor communication. It was only by chance that I had not booked our transport, as the ferry is not yet available. Look elsewhere if you want reliable help.

Last minute trip. Everything booked and sorted within two days of flying out. I got exactly what I d asked for

Once again we booked our ski holiday through Alpine Answers. We have used them several times and have never been disappointed. They are friendly, knowledgeable and always happy to help. Their website is very user friendly and every member of staff that we have spoken to has dealt with us in an efficient and professional manner. This year we could have booked our holiday through the tour operator for the same price but we booked through Alpine Answers as we have every confidence in their service. They actually got a much better deal for us as they secured an upgrade on two rooms without us having to pay the supplement. We also booked our ski hire through their website and made a great saving on the walk-in price.

He was very helpful booking out holiday for a group of 11 of us. Managed to sort out our holiday to required budget.

Hotel Elisabeth staff were great and the hotel was excellent located right where all the ski schools meet. The food and wine included was of a great standard and although the hotel decor is slightly dated, the rooms were of a great size with a separate area behind sliding doors for the kids room! Bonus!!

The hotel was also very clean

Instruction and equipment was good and there was enough for us to do on the slopes.

We were the very last week of the season and I think the resort was possibly quieter than usual? There isn’t much nightlife - but as a group we made our own entertainment! It is small and feels very safe. The snow was excellent.

We are looking at where to go next year - Kühtai is on the cards and we will definitely use Alpine Answers again.

We've used alpine answers on 3 occasions to arrange chalet ski holidays in France. They have always been really helpful and professional and found us a great chalet. They are good at responding quickly and tailoring a package to your needs.

We loved this hotel - great location 5 minutes walk (or 2 minutes on the free bus service) from the centre of Val d'Isere, laid back contemporary design, small enough to feel personal, lovely cheerful staff, seductively comfortable bar, great bistro style restaurant with a menu well above the average ski resort standard (nb - book well in advance).

Val d' Isere itself ticked all boxes, the extreme teens in our group had scampered up and down La Face a couple of times by mid morning on the first day but happily spent the rest of the week on and off piste over the whole area, with no signs of boredom. The sedate intermediates found plenty of challenges & Evolution 2 ski school was Gallic & excellent. Snowberry for ski/boot hire was a bit tricky to find on the first morning, but provided excellent service, high standard of equipment - & being able to drop skis off overnight was a real pus.

We definitely recommend Alpine Answers : the service we received from them was flawless - details of flights, transfers and accommodation were smoothly taken care of - saving many hours of demented fruitless googling.

I would like to thank Imogen for a great choice of Courmayeur for our ski trip. We were a mixed group not in terms of ski ability but in attitude. Some were keen to be on the first lift, others preferred a more leisurely start, followed by plenty of coffee stops. This I made clear to Imogen and Courmayeur was the perfect choice with great skiing for a short trip, but in particular fantastic lunch and dinner options for the daily reunion. Chalet Branlant up the mountain at night was a particular favourite. So many thanks for a great choice of resort. The hotel was also very nice.

Using Alpine Answers is one of the easiest ways to ensure you get exactly the type of winter break you wish for without all the hard research. I like the fact that I simply mention my key requirements i.e. size of resort, country, altitude of mountains, type of skiing preferred, duration of stay, type of accommodation, budget etc. and then leave them to come up with some suggestions. If the first suggestions are not something I am happy I have no hesitation in asking for some more choices as I have never felt that it would be too much trouble.

Each time I have used Alpine Answers I have had a good, trouble free holiday.

Best snow and wether for years which helps put a positive spin on everything . First time I have had to walk down snow steps to get to chalet door. Very happy with VIP they always do a good job albeit a little expensive . Chalet hosts were excellent and served up very good meals. Ski in ski out a bonus. Chalet quality not the best with living area above bedrooms with no insulation under floorboards which made it quite noisy.. Experienced worst delays at Geneva Airport. Going we got to fill in forms for lost luggage before they realised it was on the tarmac all the time. On the return our plane was still at Gatwick at our departure time . Normally we book very last minute so we did not get our usually good deal but we wanted the chalet you offered (Poudreuse)and its location so value for money was acceptable but no t the best. Your service was excellent as always and I would recommend VIP as one of the best for chalet skiing holiday in the French Alps
