People Moan About Cockroaches Its A Volcanic Islan
People moan about cockroaches its a volcanic island and your told about these anyway, its only like our ants and woodlice, you can't stop them here.
I've been going to Puerto Tahiche now for 13yrs every October for my birthday plus somewhere different in June, but people at the Puerto Tahiche are so friendly plus if you've got a problem they will sort it asap, the hotel is straight on the beach, close to all the shops, restaurants, nightlife etc what more could you ask for.
I think some people moan just for the sake of moaning!

We Were Self Catering So I Can't Comment On The Fo
We were self catering so I can't comment on the food but the complex was clean and tidy and everybody seemed friendly. It's in a really good location as well, literally 2 minutes from the beach and places to eat. I would recommend the Puerto Tahiche.

I Have Just Returned From A Weeks Holiday At Puert
I have just returned from a weeks holiday at Puerto Tahiche along with my husband and two daughters (aged 17 & 12) and can honestly say that if I had read the reviews before booking I wouldn't have gone....But, Don't believe all that you read. We had a lovely relaxing holiday. Our apartment was clean and spacious with ample bedding, towels and good maid service. The pool, grounds, bars and restaurant were fine (some areas looked a bit tired but doesn't everybodys house after a year or so!) We were All Inclusive and the choice of food was amazing. The reception, bar and entertainment staff were all very friendly. Why is it so many brits have to complain about everything!! Compensation I guess. But I can truly say we had a lovely time with no complaints whatsoever.

Our Kids Who Are 5 And 6 Look Forward To The Mini
Our kids who are 5 and 6 look forward to the mini disco when we go away. The Tahiche has a mini disco in their entertainment lounge but it is set in a completely dangerous location right next to some steps. I had read this in a review before I went but had foolishly not taken this in.
Imagine a stage ahead of you, and imagine you're a child on the dance floor facing the stage but at the side of you is an eight foot wide staircase. Now imagine you're the parent in the audience, are you having a relaxing time???? No, we were a nervous wreck and found other entertainment.
I am no health and safety expert but I assume this layout would not be tolerated in the UK, it is an accident waiting to happen.
Our children went to the 11am activities a few times but they were cold as they were held in a cold area of the hotel, they were also bored as the activitiies involved the same things, a game called "cookies" where you roll discs through holes.
It took nearly an hour to check in and most people were told "come back in half an hour" for requests such as safe keys and extra keys. Of course everyone went back in half an hour and there were equally long queues.
Communal toilet areas were not kept clean and there was no toilet roll.
The pool is freezing. The safe key costs around $4 a day that adds quite a chunk to your holiday bill. The rooms need a good clean and ours smelt musty.
When the person above us showered water poured into our kitchen area. For self catering we had one pan, 2 plates and one bowl. When I told reception we didn't have cutlery and crockery they brought us a few more plates.

We Had 8 In Our Party 6 Adults And 2 Children, 3 R
We had 8 in our party 6 adults and 2 children, 3 rooms, 2 over looking the pool 3rd floor, 1 sea view 1st floor. Having read other reviews before travelling I was a bit unsure what it would be like because we hadn't booked this hotel, we were moved from the Lanzarote bay which I am glad about now because the location of this hotel is superb. It's not the best hotel I have been to and it isn't the worst either, its kept clean up to a standard of the average 3 star hotel. The rooms are dated and could do with a good deep clean not just a quick wipe around, for example we had a mozzi which had been squashed on the patio door before we arrived and it was still there when we left and a couple of other small things that if it was in your own home you wouldn't leave, you would clean. I don't want to sound like I am being fussy but its the small things like this people tend to complain about. We stayed all inclusive the food was OK, always something to eat, the drink from the bars was good, entertainment wasn't bad most nights, 2 bars to choose from (upstairs was the only bar all inclusive) downstairs was like a small pub with sky football games on a big screen and during the week a couple of singing acts on, that started around midnight. Most of the staff were really nice. A couple of the staff found it hard to smile but apart from that everyone else was jolly. The children's entertainment team were brilliant with the kids, my son doesn't usually get involved with kids clubs but this time we hardly saw him. He was off playing games and making things and won himself a load of certificates which he was very proud of. When he wasn't at kids club he was in the pool which was freezing but it didn't bother him. I didn't go in the pool, it was a bit too cold for my liking, which is one down fall about the hotel because the pool area is beautiful but the water is that cold hardly anyone uses it. I am pretty sure they could heat it if they wanted too and in winter needs to be, unlike the sea which was quite warm and a lovely beach 50 yards from the hotel. The weather was great, loads of sunshine quite a bit of loose cloud in the sky that when it covered the sun you felt chilly because there is always a breeze and we did have a few showers but mostly at night. One top tip, we bought a beach tent (very cheap) that blocked the wind and we baked. All in all we had a great week and a holiday is what you make it, this hotel is well worth a stay but I wouldn't pay top prices to stay here and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again if the price was right. One last thing regarding cockroaches, I don't think this hotel has a problem, I did see one around the pool area walking at night, but we had nothing in the 2 rooms on the 3rd floor pool view, but our friend had 1 in his bathroom in the 1st floor sea view room, which could be to do with the bars and food place below those rooms on the sea front. I hope this review helps because I have been as honest as I can and after reading some other reviews, you know people are making mountains out of mole hills.
