Cancelled Our Trip, Won’t Give 100% Refund
Our trip for May 2020 was cancelled by Go Ahead due to COVD 19. after we had made our full payment. We wanted them to keep our deposit and apply it to a future trip but refund the remaining amount. They refused. The only way we would not lose our deposit was if we allowed them to keep ALL our money paid until our trip could be rescheduled or another one chosen. Who knows how long it will be before travel is back to normal? We decided to take the refund and lose the deposit as it was too much money to keep tied up indefinitely. After three wonderful tours, they have lost our business forever. We find their refusal to carry our deposit but not the entire amount to be unethical and perhaps illegal. Plus, the refund was to be credited to our account in 5-7 days - We have an email stating they would do that. It has been 21 days now and no credit has been made. Shame on you, Go Ahead
The Perfect Tour Director
We with my husband were traveling all over the world since 1970 1-3 times a year with many different tour Companies (Collette, Trafalgar and Globus just to mention a few of them). Recently we had a 15-days tour to Europe with Go Ahead Tours and we liked it! Particularly we were very much impressed by our Tour Director. He was just perfect!!! We have experience with numerous Tour Directors, and just one of them – on Grand Tour of Japan in 2007 with Globus was perfect. Now, after 48 years of traveling with escorted tours, we have two Best Tour Directors, and this man is one of them. He was just amazing - extremely knowledgeable with good organizational skills he quietly took care of all group helping to explore and plan each person's options and needs. Very kind and very caring he built a very friendly environment throughout of our trip. It was a very cordial, safe and enjoyable trip. Mostly thanks to him!
That is why we are considering to travel with Go Ahead Tours again.

No Customer Service
We booked a Galapagos Island tour based on someone's recommendation. What a mistake! Six weeks before our much anticipated departure, the agency cancelled the tour. Although they offered other travel dates, we couldn't make it work. The worst aspect was that we had already bought our airline tickets so we were stuck. When planning this trip, we could not directly reach anyone at this agency. It is necessary to call, leave a message, and wait a day or two for someone to return the call. I now test a travel agency by calling them before I book a trip, just to be sure someone is available.
When GoAhead booked my flight, they had me leaving from one city while I was still in a different locale. Can you believe! Because of theses types of mistakes and the difficulty reaching a person, we booked out own air tickets. I think this agency is manned by amateurs.

We've been on 4 trips with Go Ahead and loved every minute of well planned and executed trips.
We plan to continue to tour with Go Ahead as long as possible.
Still Waiting For Insurance Claim
We're still waiting on our insurance claim, for a passport which was stolen on May 11, 2014. Still not yet resolved. Getting a lot of run around and more documentation, such as tour guide incident report. Which they will not give to me. Unfortunately, the stolen passport was at the beginning of our trip, which we lost 2 days to get a new one replaced. And now, they're delaying paying the insurance. They work with Efekta as the insurance company, which is not very responsive.
Israel Tour
When you are traveling 24-28 hours you and your wife want to be comfortable. Goahead's contract with Delta does not let you move or upgrade your airline seats until 30 days prior to the departure which means all the good seats and upgrades are gone even if you paid you full account months in advance. My wife and I were separated on the plane by seats assigned by goahead. This made for a very uncomfortable trip. There were also four flights with shorter layovers in-between flights but go ahead choose one that had a 7 hour layover in New York. I would not recommend this tour unless goahead can let you pick your seats on the flights when you pay your balance on the trip.

Our first tour director was great. Our second tour director in Jordan was fair.
Everyone on the bus got tired of eating falafel sandwiches at the cafes we were taken too. We turned down suggested meals twice because of this.
Paris And The Normandy Coast.
My husband and I recently returned from you tour Paris and the Normandy coast. This tour met all our expectations. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and shared so much history. The hotels, while not luxurious, were comfortable and clean. The meals were outstanding and were served in interesting local restaurants. We visited many wonderful sites and the local guides were all good. My one suggestion would be to have the tour 2 days longer as the pace was a bit hectic in order to see so many sites. We stayed an additional 3 nights in Paris which was not part of the tour and Go Ahead helped us with the accommodations. This was our first tour with Go Ahead and we would not hesitate to use them again.
Best Tour Ever
grand tour of Ireland 6-24-13 to 7-8-13. Tom Quinn made Ireland come alive. He read us poetry, literature and taught us how to write limericks. In addition, he played Irish music and we learned the history of the Emerald Isle, He is a charming, warm, kind and caring man who gave individual attention to each of us and made us all feel very special. I would go on any tour in the world as long as Tom is leading it. The true beauty of Ireland is the people and Tom is the perfect example.

I Felt Like We Were Herded From One Event To The N
I felt like we were herded from one event to the next like cattle. Little time for taking pictures, shopping, browsing shops or just site-seeing. Very strenuous tours. Much walking. Dirty, crowded buses. Dangerous driving by bus drivers. Guides who are never around or always in the pubs drinking and picking up women. The only way to get the guide to pay attention to you is to buy them drinks in the bars at night, otherwise they ignore you for the remainder of trip.
People were robbed on our tour. Cameras and money were taken. The guide did nothing. My toilet and sink did not work in the hotel, our guide and the hotel staff did nothing. When I reported this to Go Ahead they did nothing. They ignored my letters and emails. I will never travel with them again.
