Mercury Holidays Peru And Amazon Extention

on the whole i would have to say mercury holidays are good the tour was a pleasure the excursions very good and we fitted in so much in the time available Cusco puno lake Titicaca all excellent and the amazon was superb hotels were of a good standard and service excellent there were however a few minuses Avianca the airline mercury use for Peru and the amazon were woeful in total from the UK and back and during the trip we had 7 flights non left on time one was delayed six hours one was cancelled (WE HAD TO GET AFLIGHT THE NEXT DAY) which disrupted our itinerary one flight they left our luggage behind we had to go and get it the following afternoon and this is my only fault with mercury they were no help at all in doing this the guide was invisible never saw him even though we called several times for his assistance in the end the hotel reception made the call to find out the details of where to get it from so in summary very good holiday but if things go wrong would not expect to much from mercury

Holiday Rep

Hi I am still on holiday in Marrakech at the assounfou appar hotel been here since 4th July and not had a visit from the holiday rep who was to meet us in hotel reception on 5th July at 1500hrsto tell us about our holiday and excursions no reply on phone number given we have had to rely on hotel staff to make our holiday bearable so disappointed ,the city of Marrakech is not the easiest to get round with no knowledge about it ,trying to read a map is just a nightmare, taking taxes every where is not on as it takes them ages to get you there and it is only in walking distance as we are pensioners very frustrating

Wonders Of China Tour - June 2017

Absolutely fantastic tour, excellent value for money and exceeded our expectations. Packed a lot in but enjoyed every moment. Yanztse cruise good. Visited all the sites in China we expected, travelled a lot miles but in style, bullet train and internal flights. Hotels were 4 star or above, most of them had large well thought out accommodation. Well done Mercury holidays, one of the best holidays we have had. A big thankyou from myself and husband.

After Sales Care.

This was my first time travelling with Mercury, so. with flight to Brazil cancelled for 19 hours we tried to contact Mercury for assistance but nobody helped us and basically left us to fend for ourselves. If things go well it's probably a great, bargain travel company. Be prepared and warned. Rio and Buenos Aires 4th June 2017. Phil

We Booked Mercury Holiday To Malta In May 2017 Alt

We booked Mercury holiday to Malta in May 2017 although the holiday was fine as regards hotel and private transfer the holiday rep did not give us full particulars of the two tours we booked. First tour to Gozo was fine but she omitted to tell us that the second tour we booked to Comino also included going to Gozo as well. The transport arrived 30 mins late we travelled to Sliema and we all instructed to travel on a different ship to the one we had booked on. This ship was nearly full so had difficulty finding seats had to sit inside. We were told that it would be a cruise around the island but were not informed that it would be stopping off and picking up passengers in St Pauls Bay which is nearer to our hotel. It then proceeded to drop off passengers in Gozo before continuing to Comino after booking the power boat ride around the caves of Comino we went back on board for our lunch and were then in formed we would be travelling back to Gozo to collect passengers then back to Comino to collect the passengers who had disembarked earlier. Had this been explained we would not have booked this trip at all. My friend then had to phone the office to ask for the rep to call so she could discuss this. She was then informed she would be at another hotel and we could go and see her there. My friend obviously was not happy with this and insisted she call to our hotel, no apology was given and no help whatsoever.. I would certainly visit Malta again but would not travel with Mercury.

No Response

I queried the affect of the travel ban by certain countries on Qatar Airlines and asked how this would affect my holiday to the Maldives. Emailed them on the 6th June '17 - NO RESPONSE! Terrible customer service

Very Impressed With The Service We Received

We arranged a holiday to Madeira through Mercury and found the whole experience very efficient from the original booking, being met at the airport, the transfer to our hotel etc. Everything went very smoothly up until our flight home was cancelled (due to fog at UK airport). The only thing we would say is that it would have been good to have had some advice as to what to do in this event. As it happens the transfer took us to the airport as originally planned and it all got sorted there.

Would be very happy to use Mercury again for other holidays.

Our Fabulous Tour Of China......

We have just in November returned from our MERCURY HOLIDAYS 25 day Grand Tour of China.....Our Hotels were Top Notch ...Every one of them very impressive with lots of Freebies toothebrush, toothpaste, comb, shampoo, slippers.... condoms in some hotels !.Our English breakfast every morning was very comprehensive....Our Tour Guide was a very pleasant young man , always accessable and knowledgable and reliable..Our local guides were the same with lots of local knowledge, every one of them were charming..We saw some wonderful places....The pace was a little taxing for myself but my husband took everything in his stride....I had to miss a few local excursions because of an upset tummy....

The mid day and evening meals were eaten in a variety of Restaurants..The lazy susan revolving glass in the middle of the table was always used....proving unpopular with our small group of twelve....we are not used to this system in Europe , but when in Rome......Your plate and your bowl is small you have to select food from the dishes in the middle many times during your meal and very often what you wanted was the other side of the table.....so before it reached you most of it could be gone...I especially had trouble being a Vegetarian who doesn't like Tofu....I had lost nine pounds when I returned home There are a lot of vegetable dishes as China is Bhuddist and a lot of people don't eat meat, but I couldn't face vegetables when I returned home...I'd overdosed......

The places that we visited were a Wonderful and unforgettable succession of ancient Masterpieces ....enough to satisfy the keenest Culture Vulture.....The country is very clean and the people extremely friendly. They have a great community spirit which can be seen constantly in the Parks and open spaces...There's always something going on....There are lots of European toilets to be found if you look to the end of the row, but the practice is no paper down the toilets which can make a bit of a hum....Toilets that I visited were mostly clean but there are a lot of squat toilets....These flush exactly the same as ours....again when in Rome.....

The weather was because of the time of year Oct/Nov was not too hot...Shanghai was steamy and overcast as was Chengdu....We started to get some good weather on the four day Cruise on the Yangze River..We had a huge cabin..Deck Five( we upgraded ).Good food free Coke Beer etc with our meals..Interesting tours from the boat some included....When we got to Guilin the weather was very warm lovely blue sky and continued that way until Beijing where although sunny was chilly...

We had three internal flights which our admirable Guide made trouble free...We also travelled from Xi'an to Beijing overnight for twelve hours on the train...We upgraded our sleeper and had our own bathroom and a larger compartment with an armchair and table, other travelers chose to stay with the standard sleeper, very difficult when you have to include your luggage which had to be stored at the end of each bed , there wasn't anywhere else to keep it . The beds were very hard...Stewards will bring you coffee but if you have your own tea bags and cups... there is always the hot water machine in the corridor....our Hotel in Beijing was near the Olympic Park ...had lovely sliding screens instead of curtains...another magnificent Hotel....The two days touring the sites in Beijing were very full....The Theatre shows were lovely....We found the hardest days were The UNESCO Stone Forest ( absolutely gruelling for me ) and the Tours of the Forbidden City....Our guide arranged for one of our group to hire a wheelchair for the day , it cost him about twenty pounds....All in all a Wonderful One off Experience.. Leaving us to admire what China has achieved over the last few Years....Thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience....but found twenty five days away from home a long time........

Great Holiday!

I have been using Mercury holidays for over ten years now. I decided to leave a review as I am aware that the majority of people leave a review when they are dissatisfied with their experience , so I thought I would even it up.

I am a great believer that you get what you pay for and I don't think Mercury are any exception.I am on holiday at the moment with Mercury , I am staying at the Royal Apollonia hotel in Cyprus.I have a lovely sea view room and have been staying here on half board for three weeks .The hotel is 5 star and I am very satisfied with the hotel, the transfers , and the communication prior to the holiday. The holiday cost about £1200 and I believe it well worth it.I am also aware that this company has no single suppliments which must make holidays a lot more cost effective for the single traveller.

I have also stayed at slightly less exaulted hotels/ apartments in Cyprus - The Jasmine hotel comes to mind, again with Mercury.I also stayed here for three weeks. The cost was only about £500 half board for 3 weeks , it was good value for money and I would call it a no frills family run hotel with pleasant staff. When you pay £500 for three weeks which includes meals you don't expect5 star luxury. All the hotels I have stayed in with Mercury have been good value for money and I have been very impressed with the transfers from the airport to the resort, often we have had a taxi to ourselves or a small minibus.

I would recommend this company and will be booking my next holiday with them upon my return.
