Do Not Use!!!

Due to a change of circumstances in my life i am unable to keep my dog due to not enough time for him which actually breaks my heart and will be even more selfish of me to keep him knowing i cant give him the walks/attention he needs! The lady i spoke to at this charity literally had no sympathy at all bare in mind im also 37 weeks pregnant and dealing with a stressful situation. She spoke to me like i was a child from the first phone call. If i could attach a photo of the text messages from her i would and im sure them alone would put people off using the ‘charity’! In the end they couldnt help me all because i couldnt get my dog to the vets which is a half an hour drive for me as i had no one to help and sit with my dog while i drive over as he doesnt settle in cars! Honestly never been so disgusted in a company as much as i have this one. I never put reviews but honestly please nobody use these. I am really glad i found out what horrible people they are before actually giving my dog to them! Lucky escape i think.

Stay Away

This charity if you can call it that has took 2 lovely dogs coco and jax away from their very loving home after their owner was dealing with grief and uncertainty. At a time when they should have assessed the situation and tried to help not take Coco and Jax away which they have done and have kept kept dogs even though the owner of coco and jax has asked for them back and has said she will pay for what ever costs are needed they have been abusive, negative, threatened coco and jax owner with the police and spoken of mental health as if its not important at all.

I would run a mile from this so called charity and DO NOT let them have your beautiful, amazing dogs as they will sell them to the highest bidder with put a second glance or care.

Hello Everyone

I rehomed my 2 Chihuahas Coco & Jax shortly after my mum died in October 2021. Realising I made a huge mistake I went back to West Yorkshire rescue to ask for them back and have been dealing with a lady there.

The day they came to get the dogs i never mentioned my mum dying but that I was going back to the office in a couple of weeks. She rang me after the lady who adopted them came and I vaguely remember that conversation my head was all over as they’d just literally left, I may have mentioned it then I dunno. But when I was messaging days after to check how they were I mentioned that it was my mothers funeral the next day and it made me happy to see them doing so well.. what I had just disclosed them was never acknowledged or even asked was I sure then this was the right thing to do. I have all the proofs of that too

How I came into contact with them was I posted an advert on pets at home looking for home for them and I didn’t want any money for them but to find the best home, the system wouldn’t allow me to put zero or free so I had to choose a sum so I chose £10 but in my description I said I didn’t want anything. West Yorkshire rescue have POUND PULLERS on these site and a lady contacted me recommending West Yorkshire so I had a look at them and they sounded great. Now she’s using that against me saying the dogs were at risk.. I would never have handed them over to ANYONE… they also claim coco was an ex stud dog he’s had 2 litters and the one recently was a favour for a friend so hardly an ex stud dog, they claim JAX was a lock down pup and he was bought 6 months before covid existed. The proofs have been sent to squash this too!

I have tried relentlessly since the 15th Dec and pleaded with her to return them offering to pay any fees incurred aswell as a donation to the charity.

My texts were ignored then I got a ‘Thank you for your text’ on one that I poured my heart out on.

I escalated this via email and requested the complaints procedure and things started to move…

This lady had advised on the 21st Dec that she would consider everything and the circumstances around rehoming my 2 pets and come back to me no sooner than the 10th Jan 2022 because she works 24/7 and deserved some time off… this obviously built my hopes up thinking she’s going consider things, and surely this woman can understand what I’ve been going through.

I was very wrong….

I sent an email thismorning on the 10th Jan to advise I was taking this further with a solicitor if they were not returned.

The response I got was “ The dogs will not be returned and this is non negotiable” she than proceeded to ask the solicitor to call her and that she would no longer communicate with me because my tone was abusive. Which it was only informative on my behalf.

Since the email that morning I’ve came across a lot of bad reviews about this lady and the charity with a similar pattern and now feel I’m not the only one who has been effected like this by her. I created a FB page called Get coco and Jax home to try and deter as many people as possible and make them aware just how nasty she is.

Please do not go near this place…

Dedicated And Caring Charity

She is an amazing woman. Absolutely dedicated and the charity is committed to finding best home for the dogs. Committed foster homes. Really work hard to help the dogs as individuals and know them well. Knowledgeable and experienced and I was very grateful for her support in taking on my dog when I could no longer keep him due to his issues. She supported me when I needed it and my dog for which I am very grateful. Highly recommended

Charity Commision

There appears to be concern regarding how this company appears to be taking monies for the same dog over and over again on the basis of the client not meeting criteria or the animal being unwanted when that is evidentially not the case It is there necessary i believe to refer this matter to the charity commision in order to investigate ultimaately the welfare of the dog is of paramount importance

Wish I had found this page before, recently i called yrdr I was looking after my daughter’s dog while she is over seas and was struggling due to lots of personal problems, which i informed them of . I handed the dog over and several hours later asked for him back, realised i hadade a massive mistake, Was told i could have him. went to collect him and told i couldn't, and I could not change my mind, I am worried sick about him, I have since heard of 3 volunteers who all packed in due to the nastiness of the people involved, the head of the charity was very aggressive and rude, said if I called them again would have me up for harassment, reading previous reviews this seems to be a common reacurrance, not nice people at all and certainly not charitably, I have been left distraught and worried sick for the dog Bam bam . Been told by a couple of previous volunteersection thier only intrested in money not the welf are of animals

Ignored My Application.

My beloved little dog had to be put to sleep because of illness. It left a massive hole in our lives. I saw what I thought would be the perfect little dog on their website to fill that hole in our hearts. I filled the application form in and waited in anticipation .

After a couple of days I messaged the rescue centre owner to ask if we had any chance of adopting the little dog. She didn't bother to reply and completely ignored both the application and my message.

I am an experienced dog owner who's dogs are my life. Iü don't work and am financially secure. The woods are at the end of our street and the local park is only 5 minutes away for excercising.

Even if the owner didn't think I was suitable how rude not to reply.

All the people that I know are absolutely gobsmacked that I was not thought good enough to warrant a reply . Them knowing how dedicated I am to my 2 little dogs.

I have since bought a little dog from the internet. We absolutely adore him.

People are always being told to rescue and don't buy.

I wonder if the people running this rescue really intend to get their dogs adopted out or is it just a clique and a nice way to earn money without doing any work .

Poor

got a small dog they said a vet had passed it fit. Within six weeks this dog became aggressive we took it to vets they said the dog had not been wormed and was very poor health it had been badly treated previous owners the advised to put the dog down. I was contacted by them to take another rescue dog. Within one hour of having it in my home I am a very experienced dog owner. It had bitten four people had a fight with another dog who was so badly bitten had to be put down. She said she didn't have any problems with this dog it came from a pound it clearly had very bad issues and we were advised to have this vicious and unpredictable dog put down after four months of hell. I would not recommend this rescue . Having read so many bad reviews I wish I had seen them previously. She was really horrible to us when we complained.

We had a very similar experience with the second dog we rescued. The first had to be adopted away from his brother due to bullying we were told, the tiny Yorker we took home ended up having to be put diwn 4weeks later as he had several wounds that the vet believes were caused from abuse of previous owner despite us being told the rescue had had scans done and he was 100% healthy! We later found out his brother was in a similar situation with other adoptive family. Stupidly we agreed to adopt another dog a few months later with guarantees that the dogs are checked and are all healthy. A Yorkie Cross was handed to us after 10minutes walking, we hadn't even agreed to adopt and she informed us that they had already put a chip in our name! The poor thing attached our other pup and the vets believe he shouldn't have been adopted out at all and this has already been shared with the rescue! Cue abusivr messages to my mum having to deal with all of this by the person I dealt with. Despite the good intentions of many of the foster families and volunteers the attitude of the person I dealt with had soured our experience and we would not advise going to this rescue for your new adoptive dog.

Would Not Recommend

I have been thinking long and hard about whether to post a review, but this may help someone else. We rescued Benji in October 2015- Initially she was very nice and we spoke often about our requirements for a dog. She explained the donation was £100 fee, which was no problem. We had finally found a dog perfect for us, Benji the cavalier, the images we were sent of him were absolutely perfect, however it was all dependent on his heart murmur result from the vets (very important for us as lost 2 at a young age) we had explained we were happy to wait to find one with no murmur which I know is tricky! Great News, we were told he didn't have one-we felt on top of the world. When discussing this, she then said the adoption fee for him was £400 which we had to have ready to handover when they brought him. I called the foster' to explain I did think this was a lot of money, but was told he needed some vet treatment. I thought no more of it as felt he was worth the money with no heart murmur, and it is a charity after all. Benji was very kindly brought to our house on the Saturday by the fosters', all was amazing and he stayed with us and settled in straight away. Benji was not vaccinated as he had just been neutered, which cost another £50 odd at the vets. While I was there, we were told Benji had a grade 3 murmur. I could not believe it and just fell to absolute tears and went straight home. I called her immediately for advice, and all she did was tell me very aggressively that our vets were wrong and if he didn't want him to just give him back. I really had no words. The aggression and rudeness was unbelievable. My partner had to end up taking the phone from me as he could hear how she was speaking to me.

The vet said we should have an x-ray done to see how bad it actually is, so i decided to email her a very polite message to ask for £200 back to contribute to the xray cost (We can not claim on insurance for any future medication or relation as the heart murmur as it was found in the first 2 weeks). I then received a reply to say basically give benji back and get your £400 or nothing else. She obviously has no care about his well being as we give benji a loving and great home an he is part of the family (he also comes to work with me) , handing him back would never be an option for us. The only positive outcome of the experience would be we now have the most loving, affectionate dog who we could not be without.

Yes, this doesn't surprise me. I attempted to buy a rescue dog from this organisation. It was like wading through glue. Gave up and bought a pedigree instead.

Awful

i applied for a dog and was told I could have her despite several phone calls we found they had given her to some one else. They gave us another dog, the dog was nasty and after three months the dog was put down. I will not be applying again £160 for a dog was not charity some new dogs £400 I can get a pedigree dog for that. Some charity. Won't ever use them again
