Advertised My Car For Sale With These Idiots. Deal

Advertised my car for sale with these

Idiots. Dealers bid to buy your car apparently? And then come to collect it, except when they arrive 10 days later there has been no sale and they send a mechanic to look over your 8 year old car with a fine tooth comb like it has just arrived off the production line..

The only loser in this set up is the seller ( that's why it's free), Dodgy second hand dealerships put handsome bids in for your car thinking it might of been owned by a grandma and stored in an air tight garage for its entire lifetime. Then there side kick mechanic turns up for his little fee and rips your vehicle to pieces with allegations of non existent problems.

So in summary, dodgy second hand car dealer puts in handsome bid for your car and secures the deal, you think you have sold your car but you haven't, dodgy mechanic comes out for his little fee, dodgy second hand car dealer realises that they can't make any money out of buying and selling your car because it hasn't been stored in a time capsule, but it's only cost them £50 to send the dodgy mechanic out when he's trawling your area. Joke that some get rich quick nob head thought up I'm afraid!!

Carwow Have Been Excellent For Us

We're very happy with Carwow, having gone through the sale process of our 3-year old SEAT Leon it went smoothly and we got our expected price.

Previously we had tried Motorway, they gave us a good evaluation but the actual offer was very poor. So the comparison between these two companies is huge.

We can thoroughly recommend Carwow and recommend to avoid Motorway.

Under Prices Your Car

Be very careful. I put my car details in on Carwow & they underpriced my car between £20⁰0 & £3000 compared to Confused.com & Motorway.

They underprice your car the same way WeBuyAnyCar.

If your car is in good working condition & has been looked after, you will make more money by selling privately the way the market is at the moment!

Carwhatanabsolutejoke!

For anybody considering selling their vehicle via CarWow, I'd suggest that you seriously reconsider.

Firstly, the price that was offered from CarWow was considerably more that it's competitors; however, there's a cost to this - you're at the mercy of flaky dealerships that don't honour their purchase, resulting in relistings; a lengthy wait from the time of sale to pick-up; and not actually receiving payment at the time of pick-up; all of which happened to me.

Selling through CarWow may look appealing at first, but it just isn't worth it.

When Something Goes Wrong.

when something goes wrong carwow does not know how to address the problem.

They send you a deal and guide you to a dealer.

You read through the details of the car they have chosen for you.

You go to the dealership who doesn't have the same details you've been given.

To give you an example the salesman tells you that you have two choices.

a) You can have the saving from carwow £167 (I was told £215 from carwow). or

b) You can have £500 from one of our partners but you have to buy the car now.

The problem with this is that Evans Halshaw does not have the Glacier White I was given with carwow and I would have to choose a colour and this would cost £560 so this would wipe out the £500 and I would owe £60

There's more but its too depressing, the reason I am writing this review, do not buildup your hopes until you have dealt with the dealership.

Complain to carwow you are only given a survey to fill in.

Brought A New With 10 Miles On The Clock Land Rove

Brought a new with 10 miles on the clock Land Rover from SALTASH in Cornwall £32,000 advertised on carwow paid deposit then what a surprise they rang the next day to say their was a small problem ( As in tiny in their eyes ) the car did not have a factory fitted sat nav as is in the carwow ad. I said to the salesman fit one he said he could not and that I COULD buy a tom tom etc. I was in shock 2 things I wanted was the colour ordered ( GREY ) and a sat nav. He rang again and said he was going to make good as it was a marketing error. He came back with another car ( DARK BLUE I ASK YOU ) registered 4 months earlier with 3,000 miles on it but said it's GOT A SAT NAV. I turned it down he went on to say he now knew what I wanted like he did not after placing an order said he would try his best to find WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR AND THAT WAS HIS LAST WORDS. One (1) hour latter he emailed saying he refunded my deposit. Since then not he or anyone from the garage has contacted me plus failed to answer emails since. The arrogance and complacency of the person which must be deep rooted throughout the company. After paying the deposit I went on line and put my personalized number on retention cost £80 paid a further £20 to admin to my insurance company to alter the details of my old car + another £30 for the new plates. Don't trust this DEALERSHIP AS YOU COULD LIKE ME BE OUT OF POCKET A LOT OF MONEY FOR ( NOTHING )

Promise The Earth But Deliver Nothing

So I thought I'd give CarWow a try and entered a build for a new car. They came back wih five very decent offers and it was time to follow up on them.

The garage I contacted was fairly local but failed to respond to any enquiries and faile dto return any calls.

The second was repsonsive initially but after two days I chased them and they came back with the blank repsonse of 'I'm sorry but we can't help you'. After some probing it seemed they could only honour the 'offer' on a car to be delivered this year and guess what - they could find no build slots until January!

No real logic to any of this other than maybe they aren't waht they seem. As a tool for getting your hopes up and wasting time it's fine, but if you want to buy a car talk to your local dealer.

As the old saying goes, if it looks too good to be true it probably is!

Had A Problem ,very Slow Response By Carwow

Daughter traveled out of the area to get a great deal but the garage had no record of our appointment made by carwow, then the dealership didnt seem familiar with carwow we wer`nt made aware that the discount was dependent on my daughter having the 3 year pcp plan instead of the 4 year plan that she ended up having, she ended up dropping most of the exras she wanted.

I asked carwow to look into this deal it took them 10 days and me doing the chasing for them to tell me about the pcp deal being the wrong length of time by this time it was too late to cancel without losing my deposit.

The discount should have been £2,686 she got £2,238.33 (£447.67 less than expected)

If I buy through Carwow, will the warranty be limited to the supplying dealer as opposed to a nationwide dealer warranty?
