I placed an order for next day delivery, 3 days later I received part of the order. I phoned them to confirm where the rest of the order was and was told it would be with me the following day. The order still didnt arrive and was told it would then be with me the following Tuesday - 8 days after I placed the original order!

Bought a Black Galvanised GateMate Suffolk Gate Thumb Latch in September 2022 with a view to fitting to new front gates. However, the whole job got postponed, so didn't get to fit the latch until December 2023. Within 24 hours, the main latch plate had sheared in two, and obvs the guarantee was long expired. My son-in-law who is a farrier took one look at the broken pieces and declared that there was more air than metal in the piece, and has now re-made all the pieces of the latch for me in steel. Original product described as 'heavy duty'... will not be buying from Ironmongery Direct again!

The website has major technical issues, resulting in it being unable to use saved addresses or record house names for delivery addresses, so deliveries always arrive late. Despite knowing and admitting this and still advertising next day delivery on the website, Ironmongery Direct Customer Services has refused to refund delivery charges. If you need products quickly, don't risk it, just buy local.

Order number 4984197 dated 16/05/2017. Stated because there is no justification to have this review removed.

Package arrived without lock. (Why would they send empty package!!).

Rang company and the person I dealt with said would call back. Reply not received.

Then sent email and another person said lock would be with me in the morning. Great but that is not the end of this saga !!

Because then was followed by a call from someone to say Lock not available and hoping for stock 2 days later. Who knows if I can trust what is said !!

Have just sent message asking them to cancel and not take money. But of course after checking my account they have already deducted my account. So proficient at taking money at least !!!

I ordered from here over the phon with 'guaranteed next day delivery'; I didn't order from national company as they couldn't guarantee the delivery. I went through with the order and the part didn't turn up the next day. Today I ting their office and speak to a rude lady on the phone that says there's no history of my order. Even though I had given all my card details over the phone. If you haven't used this company before, stick to what you know and not them.... lock shop direct are great

All I wanted to do was buy some shelf brackets. I am then harassed by email and telephone to leave reviews. I ask not to receive any more but their spam keeps coming. I then go to Truspilot and leave a review, they respond to the saying they tried calling me and say they have now removed me from their spamming list.Tthey know who placed the review but then they complain to Truspilot saying I was never a customer and try to have the review removed.

Order placed at 7:30pm and everything delivered by 11:30am next day. Texts and emails sent to confirm order and specify delivery time. Products were not branded items but good quality nonetheless. I have no connection with Ironmongery Direct but was impressed by the service, the extensive range of products and prices. The box contained a bar of chocolate and discount vouchers for next order.

I ordered some shelving brackets at 9am on Thursday, the order was less than £45, so next day delivery was £5.95 + V.A.T. Now my understanding of next day delivery is that you get the item the next working day (in my case Friday). Theirs seems to be that you'll get the item delivered the next working day after we can be bothered to dispatch said item. As it's a bank holiday weekend I won't see the goods till Tuesday. I posted exactly the same review on another well known site, which Ironmongery Direct had removed!!! Should have gone to Screwfix.

I made Nd order on a Thursday to arrive on the Friday.i got no confirmation from them that this order was placed I checked my bank and they had taken my money . Friday comes and I have not received my items wich was over £100. I spoke to them and there was an error on there side so I hade to contact my bank to try and sort where the money hAd gon I made 7 phone calls in total to my bank and ironmongery and 40 min in phone calls. In the end they offerd me 10 percent off but I had a discount code for 30 percent what a joke!!!!!

Never using these again, Delivery service shocking. This is the 3 time I have ordered from them and its the 3 time they have messed up delivery
